Chapter 150 I'll Believe You As Long As You Say It

Shen Linyue never expected He Xiao to open the drawer of her desk.

Last night, she happened to take it out and put it on the top shelf, intending to take it to Nanshi and take the opportunity to slap He Xiao in the face.

But now it's obvious that she failed to slap He Xiao in the face and has put herself in a passive position.

"Based on DNA testing and analysis, it has been confirmed that Lin Yue and He Xiao are biologically mother and son," He Xiao said, enunciating each word clearly, his hand holding the report trembling slightly.

His fair and handsome face still showed confusion, only his bloodshot eyes betrayed his inner turmoil. "What does this result mean? Tell me now if this is a prank you're planning to use to scare me, and I'll believe you."

The boy's voice choked up at some point, and his eyes welled up with tears. He still stared intently at the energetic and young girl in front of him, trying to see something like guilt on her face.

But the girl in front of him also had red eyes and trembling lips, and she couldn't say a word even after pondering it for a long time.

Her current state directly indicates her meaning: the identification report is genuine, the testing date on it is also genuine, and Lin Yue is his biological mother who has been missing for almost nine years.

He Xiao could no longer deceive himself.

All the details he had previously overlooked came to mind. Every action she took to stand in his defense was far more than just an aunt protecting her nephew.

What relative would value a complete stranger's child more than their own life?

He thought Lin Yue's kindness towards him was a case of loving the house because of the house.

But now, looking at it, all that good intentions seems to be full of scheming.

"I want you to tell me that you approached me and tried to get closer to me not because of some bullshit guilt or wanting to make amends for anything." The boy's voice was low and hoarse, as if he were begging. He looked like he was standing on the edge of a cliff, and if he made the slightest mistake, he would fall and be shattered to pieces.

Shen Linyue had imagined countless times what it would be like for He Xiao to know the truth, but none of those fantasies had left her as helpless and bewildered as the one before her eyes.

Those prepared speeches in their minds long ago are now completely unspeakable.

They are like two opposing sides; one wrong step and they will be doomed.

“Ah Xiao, I never approached you out of guilt or to make amends.” Shen Linyue took a deep breath, steadied herself, and looked directly at the young man: “I’m sorry, it was my fault. I shouldn’t have hidden my identity from you. Whether you forgive me or not, it’s okay, I accept it.”

Who wants to curse her more than she does?

She came to Taipei to attend a summer camp during her summer vacation, but after getting off the bus, she inexplicably found herself in this strange world 24 years later.

Without any prior preparation, she was forced to accept the fact that she had an 18-year-old son. Yes, she was not thinking clearly at the time and deceived him by using her identity as his aunt.

So now that the truth has been revealed, He Xiao is angry with her, and she accepts it.

Thinking about it, Shen Linyue's eyes welled up with tears, which she wiped away as they fell.

She looked up at him, her red eyes filled with stubbornness.

“It was my fault for recognizing you with the wrong identity. But if you think I have ulterior motives, then I won’t acknowledge you,” Shen Linyue said bitterly, forcing back tears. “He Xiao, we’ve been together for two months, you should know my intentions.”

What she wanted from beginning to end was a fully alive Ah Xiao.

She never thought of using maternal love to make up for the years he lost; there were too many things between her and the forty-year-old Shen Linyue.

He Xiao remained indifferent, and Shen Linyue's eagerness to explain seemed ridiculous to him.

"You think I'll believe what you're saying now? I don't even know which of your words are true and which are false." He paused, looking intently at her: "Even your name, identity, and age are fake. What am I supposed to believe? Just accept my bad luck?"

He Xiao couldn't understand his own feelings either. Of course, he was happier than anyone else that his mother was alive, but this happiness was not based on deception.

He then thought of Lao He, wondering if he was aware of the assessment or if he had tacitly approved it.

He recalled some more details: Lin Yue and Lao He had always been very easygoing and approachable, and they usually got along like old friends.

The answer to all this seems to be found here: they are a married couple, and their relationship is naturally harmonious.

He was the only fool who got completely manipulated by those two!

Seeing the anger in He Xiao's eyes materialize, Shen Linyue's brows furrowed deeper and deeper, and the sadness and distress in her heart gradually dissipated.

"Your name and identity are indeed fake, but what makes you think my age is fake?" How is it that she is faking her eighteen years old?

Her face doesn't match her age, does it? Everyone who sees her asks if she's a minor.

"Did I ever tell you that I came from the past? You just didn't believe me, and now you're blaming me, right?" Shen Linyue glared back defiantly.

Aside from the fact that his identity as his aunt was fabricated, everything else was true. He himself didn't believe he had any connection with her.

He Xiao pursed his lips, looking at her as if she were a liar.

"Of course I know you're doing well without me and Lao He, but you don't want to explain where you've been for the past nine years, and you insist on treating me like a fool, right?" He Xiao roared in exasperation.

Seeing her stunned expression, he curled his lips into a sarcastic remark: "Since you say you can travel through time, fine, I'll believe you if you can demonstrate it for me right now."

Shen Linyue: "..."

Is time travel something as common as cabbage? Can she just travel through time whenever she wants?

Shen Linyue was so angry that her chest heaved violently, and all traces of guilt had long since vanished.

“Can we call a truce for now? Let’s both calm down for a while, and you can think about what I said.” She pinched her aching brow and looked straight at him: “I didn’t lie, and I didn’t deceive you. As for how I came here and when I went back, I don’t know, and I can’t prove it to you now.”

"You think you can just stop like that? What gives you the right? You keep making excuses for yourself. Have you ever really cared about me?" He Xiao glared at her resentfully, his hands clenched into fists at his sides. "Knowing what I've been through these past nine years, have you ever felt any pain for me? You don't even know why I'm angry, so what gives you the right to tell me to calm down?"

"You're clearly my own mother, yet you and Lao He have been keeping this from me all along, treating me like a fool and making me run around in circles. You don't even care about me!" the boy roared, losing his composure. He forced his gaze away from her face, his voice trembling. "We have nothing to say. If you won't leave, I will!"

Shen Linyue was stunned into place by the boy's angry shout, staring blankly at the paternity test results that had fallen to the ground.

The boy brushed past her, and she wanted to explain but didn't know how to begin.

He Xiao suppressed his anger and rushed downstairs, just as the butler came upstairs.

"Young Master, it's time to set off. Is there enough time?" Before the butler could finish speaking, he met the boy's bloodshot eyes.

Butler: ? What happened?
