The man before me, He Liyu, is handsome and dashing, yet possesses the composure and dignity of a mature man.
Shen Linyue was somewhat stunned. He was very different from the person in her mind, but she preferred He Liyu in front of her. He was gentle and knew how to maintain appropriate boundaries in their interactions, so that she would not feel uncomfortable.
And she often naturally treats him as a friend.
But who knew that in their original world, the two were sworn enemies?
"Oh, then come in and talk." She looked away and made way for him.
He Liyu had naturally noticed her absent-mindedness, but he didn't call her out on it. Instead, he teased her softly, "Can I just come into your room whenever I want? Wouldn't that be infringing on your privacy?"
Shen Linyue's face suddenly turned red. She thought of what she had said to He Xiao during their argument the day before yesterday, and how he felt disgusted that he had heard it.
"No, there's nothing messy in my room." She then tried to save face, glaring at him: "Forget about this! Don't mention it again."
Seeing the little girl's anger and embarrassment, He Liyu's smile widened, and he nodded, indicating, "I understand."
She was so vibrant that he always felt it was unreal.
He was also afraid that one day he would wake up and realize that it was all just his imagination.
"Hmph, come in, make yourself at home." Shen Linyue tossed her bun and went back to her room, completely unaware of the change in the man's expression behind her.
The little girl's room was clean, tidy, and cozy. She had been living there for over a week, and the once quiet guest room was now filled with traces of her life.
The small cactus potted plant on the windowsill, and the fresh flowers in the porcelain vase on the desk.
He knew this, and every day she would go to the yard to pick the freshest few flowers and put them inside, so that even the room was filled with a faint fragrance that belonged to the young girl.
After giving He Liyu a restrained look, he sat down on the small sofa in the room.
The sofa was small, just enough to fit Shen Linyue, but when He Liyu sat down, it looked like an adult sitting on a child's stool, which was somewhat comical and awkward.
However, there were no other chairs in her room, so he would have to make do with sitting there.
Shen Linyue suppressed a laugh and asked, "What do you want to talk about?"
He Liyu knew what she was thinking, and his face showed a mixture of helplessness and embarrassment.
"You're going to school tomorrow, so I'd like to ask you how much you know about the progress of your senior year studies."
Shen Linyue was speechless for a moment, not knowing where to begin. After moving her lips for a while, she finally said, "I came here right after the summer vacation of my second year of high school."
She knew absolutely nothing about the subjects taught in the final year of high school.
Sure enough, He Liyu frowned after hearing what she said.
“Ah Xiao’s class is almost halfway through its curriculum. If you join now, you might not be able to keep up.” He then recalled that Ah Yue’s grades had always been good, and his expression softened: “I’ll have someone tutor you on Saturdays and Sundays. If you don’t understand something, just ask me.”
As for why she didn't ask He Xiao for help, well, He Xiao's grades are so bad they're unbearable to look at.
The two of them being together is just a case of two negatives making a negative, and they will eventually become celebrities in Taipei.
Shen Linyue hadn't expected that He Liyu had been paying attention to this. After hearing what he said, she felt a warm feeling in her heart. It felt so good to be cared for.
However, she still hesitated: "Won't this be too tiring for you?"
During the day, she had to worry about the affairs of such a large corporation, and at night she still had to tutor her. Shen Linyue knew without a doubt how tired she must be.
He Liyu's eyelashes fluttered slightly, and his eyes held a hint of a smile.
"It's alright, it's nothing to me." His deep, magnetic voice made people unconsciously believe him.
Shen Linyue felt a slight itch in her ears and coughed lightly, feeling unnatural.
"Alright, thank you in advance." Then, thinking of He Xiao, her face turned serious: "I will definitely make sure He Xiao studies diligently!"
He Liyu couldn't help but chuckle and nodded indulgently: "Okay, keep it up."
Finally, he took out what he had prepared, saying, "This is all the key knowledge points from the first year of high school to the third year that I had prepared. You can take a look."
The assistant, who was inexplicably asked to find high school knowledge, thought: "Heh, he graduated more than ten years ago, and he still has to help the boss collect these things. Has anyone thought about his feelings?"
Shen Linyue: ...
Holding that thick book, I was completely dumbfounded.
Oh? You're such a busy CEO, yet you still have time to help me find these things.
Her feelings immediately became very complicated. "Thank you."
She was really happy to receive this, but she wondered if it could bring her back to her era.
With this, she'll definitely surpass He Liyu's achievements back then! Just thinking about it makes me feel so good, hehe.
The girl's thoughts were written all over her face. He Liyu found it adorable and chuckled, "You're welcome."
His gaze casually swept across her desk, and the doodled draft paper suddenly came into view. Seeing the large characters on it, He Liyu's smile froze.
Um?
He felt it necessary to remind him not to take his anger out on He Xiao. (Smiled.)
...
The next morning, Shen Linyue did not plan to go to Beishi Middle School with He Xiao to register. She only needed to go before the first class started, and did not need to go too early.
So she didn't come downstairs in her Taipei Mid-Autumn Festival school uniform until after He Xiao left.
He Liyu, who should have been at work long ago, was surprisingly still sitting in the living room using his computer to handle things.
Shen Linyue: ?
He Liyu had already heard her cheerful footsteps as she came downstairs. He looked up and said gently, "Have breakfast first, then I'll take you to school."
Shen Linyue nodded blankly, then a bright smile quickly appeared on her face.
"Okay, thank you for your hard work."
