Chapter 36 Find a seat

"Damn it, who said the transfer student is a boy? Step forward and I promise I won't beat him up."

"Wow, she's gorgeous! She's even prettier than Chen Yi from Class Two!"

"Lin Yue, you share the same surname as me, could you be related to me? Hehe."

"Stop trying to glorify yourself."

"Beautiful sister, let's stick it on."

After Shen Linyue finished her introduction, the whispers in the class never stopped, followed by deafening applause.

He Xiao raised his head amidst the thunderous applause, his cheeks still bearing the marks left by the wrinkles in his clothes, his eyes still drowsy from not having woken up yet.

"Damn it, why did I take pictures of you..." His voice trailed off when his gaze met Shen Linyue's smiling eyes, his pupils contracted and his face showed undisguised shock: "Holy crap, Linyue?"

When Shen Linyue saw the shock on her eldest son's face, she could no longer hold back the smile on her lips.

She raised an eyebrow slightly, as if saying to He Xiao, "How about it? Surprised? Unexpected?"

He Xiao understood, his lips twitched, and the shock on his face disappeared, replaced by resentment.

Haha, he didn't even tell her about such a big thing as transferring to his class, and yet he bought her food and drinks and treated her with all his heart!

Let's break off our friendship!

"Lin, please find a seat wherever you like. We will rearrange the seating next week."

Teacher Zhao interrupted their eye contact. Actually, there were only two empty seats in the classroom; one was next to the trash can, and the other was right next to He Xiao.

Teacher Zhao's smiling gaze shifted from the empty seat next to He Xiao; he certainly hoped that Lin Yue would go there.

For no other reason than that Lin is He Xiao's aunt, and she might be able to keep this unruly little devil in check when there's nothing going on.

As if she knew what the homeroom teacher was thinking, Shen Linyue walked straight towards He Xiao under his expectant gaze.

He Xiao's gaze followed her until she came in front of him, but his expression was not good. His brows were so furrowed that they could trap a fly. If looks could kill, she might have already seen through him.

The hushed discussions around them completely ceased when they saw Shen Linyue walking towards He Xiao. Everyone knew that this new classmate was probably in trouble when they saw He Xiao's dark face, which resembled that of Yama, the King of Hell.

When He Xiao gets angry, how could such a slender and frail girl possibly withstand him? She might even cry from just one look at him.

They were all waiting to see the new student cry from fright, so they could comfort him after class and try to make their presence known to the new student.

However, what they expected did not happen. After staring at each other for several seconds, the man, whom they called the "living Yama," offered his chair to let her pass.

Not only that, he also reached into the empty table and took the contents out of the table and stuffed them back into his own table.

Other uninformed bystanders: ?

Huh? He Xiao, quickly tell me you didn't give up your seat because the new classmate is beautiful!

I still remember the last person who sat with He Xiao was so angry with He Xiao that he cried and moved out overnight. Let's see how long this new classmate can put up with He Xiao.

Shen Linyue smiled sweetly and said to He Xiao, "Thank you."

Then he went inside, sat down in his seat, and put all the new books he had just received into his desk drawer.

As for He Xiao, he sneered at her polite greeting, his gaze fixed on Shen Linyue as if to say, "You're just pretending. Let's see how long you can keep up this act before you start talking to me."

Even as the teacher walked in, Shen Linyue didn't glance at him once.

He Xiao: ...

A class lasts forty-five minutes, which is neither long nor short.

Normally, He Xiao could sleep through two classes without waking up, but now there was Shen Linyue suddenly by his side, and he didn't know what her purpose was in transferring into their class, or how she persuaded Old He to help her transfer. With these things on his mind, he couldn't sleep at all.

Throughout the entire class, he was either daydreaming or resting his chin on his hand while watching Shen Linyue's profile as she diligently took notes, his brows furrowed tightly.

No, this person is actually here to learn?

It wasn't until the end of the first class, during the long break for exercise, that He Xiao stopped Shen Linyue from following him out.

He frowned and glared at her unhappily: "Don't you have anything to say to me?"

He didn't sleep at all during the entire period because of this, so how could she still be in the mood to go to the playground?

Shen Linyue looked up at him calmly, her eyes already filled with a gentle smile.

"What do you want me to say to you? Do you want me to lend you my notes from last class to copy?"

The knowledge of the new era is indeed quite substantial. Fortunately, the first lesson was Chinese, so she didn't feel overwhelmed.

She was still unsure how long she would stay in this era, so she dared not be careless about her studies for even a moment. She also noticed He Xiao's inactive behavior in class, which she needed to correct as soon as possible.

At the very least, we should try to make him love learning.

Thinking about this, Shen Linyue felt that her task was arduous again.

He Xiao's brow twitched slightly, and he gritted his teeth: "Lin Yue, stop pretending to be stupid. That's not what I meant."

"How would I know if you don't tell me? My dear nephew, I'm not a mind reader." Shen Linyue wasn't afraid of him, and even wanted to move his head a little, but unfortunately, his height didn't allow it.

Her gaze swept over his bandaged hands again. He looked much the same as yesterday, but his condition hadn't worsened.

"Why did you suddenly transfer to this school? And why didn't you tell me beforehand?" She's making him feel like an idiot. Does she know how he felt when he saw her?

Hearing He Xiao's indignant tone, Shen Lin blinked innocently.

"Of course, it was all arranged by your dad that I transferred here. I didn't tell you because I wanted to surprise you. How was it? Were you surprised?" Shen Linyue betrayed He Liyu without any guilt.

Anyway, He Xiao won't do anything to his father.

After hearing what she said, He Xiao immediately realized something was wrong. Her new schoolbag and brand-new school uniform must have been prepared long ago.

Besides his father, the butler must have been involved in all of this, so they all knew, and he was the only one kept in the dark?!

Realizing this, He Xiao's face darkened further, his lips pressed tightly together, and his gaze at Shen Linyue seemed to spit fire.

But before he could utter a single harsh word, Gu Yi'an's loud voice rang out from the back door.

"Damn, boss, I heard a gorgeous girl transferred to your class. Let me see her!" He only realized He Xiao had his back to him after he finished speaking, and he was wondering why.

A familiar little face peeked out from in front of He Xiao, smiling and greeting him.

Hello, Xiao An.

Gu Yi'an: ?

"Sis? What are you doing here?" He stammered, then realized something, his eyes widened, and he exclaimed, "So, the transfer student they were talking about is you, sis?"

Shen Linyue nodded with a deeper smile: "Yes, aren't you surprised?"

Gu Yi'an's smile widened, and he nodded: "Surprise! What a surprise! How come I didn't hear the boss mention this?"

As soon as he finished speaking, he met He Xiao's gloomy gaze: ...Why does this expression look a little off?

Don't tell him that even the boss doesn't know about this.

Shen Linyue's expression quickly revealed everything, and He Xiao was completely unaware of the situation.
