Everyone was amused by her anxious appearance. Fu Ya quickly fed her and put meat on her plate, letting her eat by herself. Everyone sat down around the stove, and the house was filled with laughter. The family sat together, enjoying this rare time of reunion.
The food in the pot was steaming and smelled delicious, and the children's faces were filled with happy smiles.
After the meal, Qing Xuanzi said to Rong Lianhu, "On my way back this time, I encountered two large wild boars, four half-grown wild boars, and a brown bear. What do you think we should do?"
Rong Lianhu sincerely admired Qing Xuanzi. If others encountered so many wild beasts, they would not even have time to run away, but he brought them all back.
He asked cheerfully, "Aren't you going to keep the brown bear for yourself to eat?"
Qing Xuanzi shook his head: "Bear meat is not tasty. I only need the bear skin, bear gall, and four bear paws. You can decide on the rest."
"What about the wild boars? Should we leave more of them?"
Qing Xuanzi thought for a moment and asked, "If you're diligent, keep one wild boar for us to eat during the New Year. The rest can be made into stewed meat for the two boys to supplement their diet."
Rong Lianhu nodded in agreement. The two children were sensible and self-disciplined, and they needed to supplement their nutrition as they practiced martial arts every day.
He smiled and said, "Thank you, brother. Then I'll keep one more wild boar and make the rest into stew to supplement the children's nutrition."
Qing Xuanzi nodded, and after chatting for a while, Fu Ya and Rong Lianhu got up to take their two sons home.
Qing Xuanzi advised, "Let them stay here for a while and spend more time with Jiaojiao."
Rong Zhigao and Rong Zhiyuan looked at their parents expectantly after hearing this, and Rong Lianhu asked them, "Do you want to stay here?"
The two nodded eagerly, and Rong Lianhu said, "Alright, then you can stay here. But don't be naughty, and listen to your uncle, understand?"
"knew!"
Both of their voices were several octaves louder, and it was easy to tell that they were very happy.
The next day, Rong Lianhu drove a military truck over early in the morning.
Qing Xuanzi left behind the smallest wild boar and gave the brown bear and the other wild boars to Rong Lianhu to take away.
I don't know what Rong Lianhu said to the army, but when he came back, he brought bear skin, bear gallbladders, and four big bear legs.
Qing Xuanzi frowned: "Didn't I say I only needed four bear paws? Why did you bring so much meat?"
Rong Lianhu said, "That's what I told them too, but Minister He said that you can't hunt such a big bear and not get a proper bite of meat, so he ordered that it be left like this."
Seeing that Qing Xuanzi was still frowning and looking troubled as he looked at the meat, he said, "Brother, don't be afraid of the trouble. The hair on these has been cleaned off. Just wash them again and you can stew them directly."
Qing Xuanzi glanced at Rong Lianhu with a sour expression and said, "The question is how to make it taste good."
Rong Lianhu scratched his head: "I don't know either. Maybe we should hold off for now and ask around tomorrow."
Qing Xuanzi nodded: "Alright, I'll keep the bear skin and the bear gall. As for the bear meat, we'll eat it when you've learned how to cook it."
Rong Lianhu smiled and nodded: "Okay, I'll definitely ask if I know how to do it."
“Oh, and this too,” he said, pulling out a piece of paper. “This is a donation receipt.”
Qing Xuanzi asked, puzzled, "I didn't say I wanted this. Did you want it?"
"No, Minister He wrote it himself. He said he would keep it because he might need it someday?"
Qing Xuanzi nodded: "Then I'll accept it."
"Then I'll go get busy."
Qing Xuanzi waved his hand: "Go ahead, you can clean up the little wild boar when you have a day off."
Rong Lianhu nodded, turned around, and drove away.
Qing Xuanzi then went to continue training his young apprentice.
In the evening, Wan Qiong and Wei Guodong returned home to find Tian Shu there, much to their surprise.
Wan Qiong said happily, "Sister Tian Shu, it's almost Chinese New Year, can you spend the New Year here?"
Tian Shu shook his head: "I'm here to deliver something to Jingqi. I can only stay for two days at most."
Wan Qiong felt a little regretful, but she had gotten used to Tian Shu's fleeting visits.
I didn't ask what I gave the child; I was just thinking about making her some good food these next couple of days.
Wei Guodong said, "You've come at a good time. Master Qingxuan has also returned these past two days."
Tian Shu said "Oh": "I was just thinking of asking your subordinate to see if I could find him. I have something to tell him!"
Wei Guodong said, "He doesn't like living in the family compound. There's a small courtyard in town. I know the place. If you want to go, I can take you there."
Tian Shu nodded: "Tomorrow, it's not too urgent. Just tell me the address tomorrow, and I'll find it myself."
"OK!"
Looking at his son, who was obediently staying by Tian Shu's side, Wei Guodong asked, "Sister Tian Shu, has Jing Qi made any progress?"
Speaking of his young apprentice, Tian Shu's brows relaxed, and he smiled, saying, "Jing Qi is doing well. He hasn't been slacking off; he's been working hard and has made a lot of progress."
When Wei Jingqi heard the praise, he smiled shyly, his little face turning red.
In the evening, Wanqiong and the housekeeper prepared a sumptuous dinner to entertain Tianshu.
The next day, Tian Shu said he would take Wei Jingqi with him to find Qing Xuanzi. Wei Guodong did not object. He asked, "Do you want me to drive you there?"
Tian Shu shook his head: "No need. If there are extra bicycles, just give me one to ride. If not, I'll walk there. It won't take long."
Wan Qiong said, "Then you can ride your bicycle. My commute is nearby, so I can just walk there."
Tian Shu did not refuse, and when they went to work, she took Wei Jingqi with her and went out.
In town, Qing Xuanzi had finished breakfast and started training Rong Jiaojiao. He hadn't noticed anything outside the courtyard and was quite puzzled when he heard a knock on the door.
He was even more surprised when he saw in his divine sense that it was Tian Shu carrying Wei Jingqi.
He wasn't surprised that Tian Shu could find this place; what was surprising was why she came to find him.
Looking at Rong Jiaojiao, who is still squatting on the wooden stake with one leg, it wouldn't be good to put her to sleep or hide her now, would it?
Forget it, he's a Celestial Master level expert. If he really wants to see his disciple's face, he has plenty of ways to do it.
With that thought in mind, he went to open the door for Tian Shu himself and said respectfully, "Senior Tian Shu, please come in!"
Qing Xuanzi's gaze fell on Wei Jingqi, who sweetly greeted him, "Hello, Uncle!"
Qing Xuanzi smiled at him and said, "Come in!"
Tian Shu nodded inwardly as he saw that Qing Xuanzi's cultivation had become much more profound, and said aloud, "I apologize for the sudden visit!"
"No disturbance, Senior Tian Shu, please come in!"
Qing Xuanzi gestured for them to enter, and Tian Shu led Wei Jingqi into the courtyard.
After Tian Shu and Wei Jingqi entered the room, Qing Xuanzi closed the door before following them inside.
Inside the house, Rong Jiaojiao was still squatting on one leg, her little face flushed, with her two older brothers beside her doing the same thing.
