Rong Jiaojiao nodded: "Master, I've got it."
After setting up the tent, Qing Xuanzi quickly took out two chickens to clean and stew, and then took out a large pot to heat up steamed buns.
Smelling the aroma of chicken soup, Rong Jiaojiao felt hungry and took out a steamed bun to eat.
Qing Xuanzi quickly stopped her: "Jiaojiao, Rere is eating."
I don't know when Rong Jiaojiao put the steamed bun away, and I don't know if it's still edible, so I quickly reached out to grab it.
Little did I expect that what I grabbed was a steamed bun that was still slightly warm!
Qing Xuanzi asked incredulously, "Jiaobao, when did you put these steamed buns away?"
Rong Jiaojiao thought for a moment and said, "When the older brothers and younger brothers were still on the mountain."
Qing Xuanzi was pleasantly surprised: "I didn't expect Jiaojiao's treasure to be so powerful. In the future, before we go out, Master will make more food for you to store away, so that our journey will be more comfortable."
Without hesitation, he reheated batch after batch of the cold steamed buns, making sure Rong Jiaojiao had all the buns he had stored up. Seeing that the chicken wasn't quite tender yet, he cleaned out a few rabbits and roasted them, intending to save them for lunch the next day.
The aroma of chicken soup and roasted rabbit meat drew the sable from afar closer and closer.
Qing Xuanzi didn't sense its malice, but he wasn't careless either, and his divine sense kept protecting Rong Jiaojiao.
But Zi Diao didn't even glance at Rong Jiaojiao and Qing Xuanzi, her eyes fixed on the roasted meat.
Seeing this, Qing Xuanzi did not immediately attack it. He wanted to observe it more and see how much intelligence this little guy possessed.
Aside from the snowy, sacred mountains, he had hardly seen any intelligent animals in the outside world.
They are neither ordinary beasts nor spirit beasts, but rather exist in between.
Such animals usually develop a little intelligence by chance after consuming some spiritual medicine or objects.
The sable's gaze never left the roasted meat, seemingly forgetting the presence of Qing Xuanzi and Rong Jiaojiao.
It licked its lips from time to time, its eyes revealing a longing look, but it dared not approach, clearly hesitant.
Qing Xuanzi's mind stirred slightly, and an idea came to him.
He deliberately tossed a piece of fragrant roasted rabbit meat into the distance. The sable's eyes lit up instantly. It rushed over, bit the rabbit meat, and then quickly ran back behind the tree to cautiously gnaw on it.
Rong Jiaojiao's attention was entirely focused on the barbecue and chicken soup, and she didn't even notice the sable.
Seeing his master pick up the meat and let it cool, he thought he was going to give it to him, but instead he threw it away. He panicked and tried to stop him, but was attracted by a fleeting glimpse of a sable.
She had completely forgotten about the barbecue and focused her attention on the sable. She had never seen such a beautiful animal before; its fur was a glossy purplish-black, and its eyes were bright and lively, like two dazzling gems.
She couldn't help but blurt out, "Master, what's that? It's so beautiful!"
Qing Xuanzi nodded in agreement: "It's a sable, and it's quite cute."
"They are extremely fast, hence another name, the lightning weasel."
Rong Jiaojiao, however, could no longer contain her curiosity, and she cautiously headed toward the direction where the sable was hiding.
The sable was very alert. Hearing Rong Jiaojiao's footsteps, it raised its head warily. When it saw Rong Jiaojiao, panic flashed in its eyes. It picked up the roasted meat and ran away.
Qing Xuanzi kept his divine sense locked on Rong Jiaojiao and the sable. After seeing the sable run away and Rong Jiaojiao looking aggrieved, he smiled and said, "Don't worry, it will come back. When it comes, Master will ask it if it wants to come with you and keep you company."
Upon hearing Qing Xuanzi's words, Rong Jiaojiao's eyes lit up instantly, and she excitedly ran to her master's side, asking, "Really? It can come with me?"
Qing Xuanzi nodded: "It does seem quite intelligent, and might be willing. However, it's probably still angry, after all, we stole its Ganoderma lucidum yesterday."
Rong Jiaojiao asked in confusion, "Master, Jiaojiao found the wood spirit mushroom, she didn't steal it, did she?"
In her mind, only things taken from others count as robbery.
Qing Xuanzi explained, "In its mind, the wood Ganoderma is a treasure it guards. If we dig it up, it might feel like we've stolen its treasure. However, the fact that it's getting so close to us now shows that it doesn't have any ill intentions towards us, it's just a little wary."
Upon hearing this, Rong Jiaojiao's eyes showed a hint of embarrassment, and she whispered, "Then did we do something wrong?"
Qing Xuanzi gently patted her head and spoke coldly in a gentle tone: "That's right, everyone wants treasures. When no one is fighting over them, they are obtained by those who are destined; when others are fighting over them, they are obtained by those who are capable."
"Therefore, before we were discovered, the sable was the one with a predestined connection; when the Ganoderma lucidum was discovered, we were the ones with the ability."
Rong Jiaojiao couldn't understand such a profound topic at all, but she knew that they hadn't done anything wrong.
Seeing her bewildered expression, Qing Xuanzi said, "Jiaojiao, you don't understand now, but you must remember what your master said. Apart from your master, anyone could try to take your treasures away from you, and might even hurt you."
"In this world of cultivation, strength is the most important thing. Without strength, even if you have the best treasures, they will be taken away; without strength, even if you have the best talent, you will be suppressed. Therefore, you must work hard to cultivate and make yourself stronger."
Upon hearing Qing Xuanzi's words, Rong Jiaojiao's eyes flashed with a hint of confusion, but she quickly regained her resolve.
She nodded and said earnestly, "Master, Jiaojiao knows. Jiaojiao will definitely work hard to cultivate and become stronger, so that no one will bully me or take away my treasure."
Looking at Rong Jiaojiao's earnest expression, Qing Xuanzi felt gratified. She was still young and it didn't matter if she couldn't understand, as long as she could remember.
There are some principles she must learn from a young age, such as in this cruel world of cultivation, only by becoming stronger can she protect herself and those around her.
"Master, do we have to keep cultivating and become stronger?" Rong Jiaojiao asked again.
Qing Xuanzi nodded: "Yes, cultivation is a lifelong endeavor. In this world, if you stop, you will be surpassed by others. Therefore, you cannot slack off; you must keep striving."
Rong Jiaojiao nodded, her eyes serious: "I understand, Master. I will keep working hard until I become as good as you."
Qing Xuanzi nodded, pulled her over to sit down, served her chicken soup and chicken legs, and told her to sit down and eat slowly.
"Master, should we go find more treasures now to make ourselves stronger?" Rong Jiaojiao asked again.
Qing Xuanzi nodded: "Yes, treasures can help us improve our strength faster. However, treasures are not so easy to find. We need to explore more places to find more treasures."
Upon hearing this, Rong Jiaojiao's eyes flashed with excitement: "Then let's set off now!"
