Chapter 27 Shock

When Rong Lianhu went to retrieve the pheasant that Qing Xuanzi had bound, he also discovered two nests of wild eggs.

This made him very happy. Rong Jiaojiao had started eating complementary foods, but resources were scarce, and even eggs were hard to buy.

With these wild eggs, Rong Jiaojiao could eat one a day for half a month.

He returned with the eggs and handed them to Qing Xuanzi: "Brother, please keep these for Jiaojiao and steam one for her every day from now on."

Qing Xuanzi nodded, and with a wave of his hand, the eggs and pheasants disappeared.

They walked along the edge of the valley for about half an hour. After Rong Jiaojiao sensed another ginseng and took it away, they finally arrived at the stone cave that Qing Xuanzi had mentioned.

The cave is located at the foot of a cliff, and the entrance is hidden by some vines. If Qing Xuanzi had not been familiar with the terrain, he would not have been able to find it at all.

"This place is really nice. I can get a good rest tonight."

Rong Lianhu put down the hare and went into the cave. He found the cave to be spacious and dry, but there was a lot of animal droppings on the ground, including those of pheasants, rabbits, and other animals.

Qing Xuanzi entered the stone cave, threw out a talisman, and a gust of wind swept up the animal droppings and withered leaves on the ground, which he then tossed out of the cave with a flick of his sleeve, making the cave clean and tidy.

Qing Xuanzi nodded in satisfaction, and put out pots, pans, and seasonings for grilling the meat. He said to Rong Lianhu, "You grill the meat here, and I'll take Jiaojiao out for a walk to see if we can find some more wild eggs for her."

While admiring Qing Xuanzi's magic, Rong Lianhu was also shocked that he would bring so much stuff with him. He nodded in response, "Okay, I promise to roast the meat until it's delicious."

Qing Xuanzi held Rong Jiaojiao in his arms, gently patted her belly, and said, "Jiaojiao, be good, let's go out and find something delicious."

Before leaving, he took out a wild egg and instructed Rong Lianhu, "Make Jiaojiao a steamed egg custard too. You know how to make that, right?"

Rong Lianhu thought to himself, "You act like you're the only one who's good for Jiaojiao."

What he said was different from what he really thought: "Yes, I'll steam it while I'm grilling the meat."

Qing Xuanzi left satisfied. In his heart, he still regarded Rong Lianhu as half a disciple, otherwise he would not have treated him like a junior in every way.

However, they have strict requirements for accepting disciples. They do not accept those who are not destined for them or those who are not exceptionally talented. Therefore, although the Xuanqing Sect has a small number of members, apart from blood relatives with poor talent, everyone else is a cultivator with exceptional talent.

Qing Xuanzi led Rong Jiaojiao out of the stone cave and walked quickly along the edge of the valley, preparing to complete the entire valley before dark.

With his divine sense fully awakened, he discovered along the way that as long as something was edible, such as pheasants or rabbits, he would selectively leave some to breed and multiply, while taking the rest.

Not only pheasants and rabbits, but he also plundered all the tender wild vegetables he saw, and even poisonous snakes hiding in the crevices of rocks were not spared.

Rong Jiaojiao didn't know what Qing Xuanzi was doing. She only saw things flying towards her, being caught by Qing Xuanzi, and then disappearing.

She found it amusing, giggling and unconsciously mimicking Qing Xuanzi's movements, her little hands flailing in the air while she babbled incoherently.

Whatever was drawn back by Qing Xuanzi using magic, upon arriving at the root, Qing Xuanzi would feel an invisible pulling force vying with him.

Qing Xuanzi noticed this scene and knew that Rong Jiaojiao was competing with him, so he couldn't help but show a doting smile.

He also intended to teach Rong Jiaojiao his abilities, so he would deliberately fight with her for small things like wild vegetables and eggs, gradually reducing his spiritual power so that Rong Jiaojiao would learn to use her spiritual power to pull the things into her hands.

And just as he had guessed, those items disappeared after they reached Rong Jiaojiao's hands.

He smiled and continued to repeat the operation. Gradually, Rong Jiaojiao was able to pick up small items at close range without Qing Xuanzi's assistance.

Qing Xuanzi patted her head with satisfaction and laughed heartily, "You are truly a good disciple of your master!"

The little one seemed to sense Qing Xuanzi's praise, responding with babbling in response, waving her little hands from time to time, and then demonstrating a new skill to her master the next second.

A small green snake swayed and floated towards the little guy's hand, almost scaring Qing Xuanzi out of his wits.

He quickly waved the snake away, then came to his senses and said, "You unlucky kid, that's a poisonous snake! You almost scared me to death!"

He completely forgot that it was because he had just captured several large snakes that Rong Jiaojiao started imitating him.

After saying that, he helplessly led Rong Jiaojiao forward again. However, he needed to be more careful on the journey ahead and pay close attention to Rong Jiaojiao's actions.

A dozen minutes later, Qing Xuanzi found a ginseng plant bearing red fruit by a crevice in the rocks.

Qing Xuanzi looked at Rong Jiaojiao with suspicion. The ginseng was only five or six meters away from where they were, so why hadn't Rong Jiaojiao given them a hint like before?

No, the question should be, why didn't Rong Jiaojiao sense it like before? Could it be that her ability is sometimes effective and sometimes not?

Thinking about it, it wasn't impossible, after all, he was only seven months old. With that in mind, Qing Xuanzi stopped worrying about it.

He walked over to dig out the ginseng, but just then, Rong Jiaojiao suddenly made a move, staring straight ahead, reaching out her hand, and making "ah ah" sounds, just like when she discovered the first ginseng.

Qing Xuanzi's eyes lit up. Could it be that there's something good again?

Looking at the ginseng at his feet with suspicion, then at Rong Jiaojiao, he didn't have time to investigate further. In order to appease Rong Jiaojiao and to verify his guess, he had no choice but to move forward.

After walking for about ten meters, a thin stream of water flowed down from a crevice in the cliff ahead, gathering into a small pool.

The pool was surrounded by moss, making it appear exceptionally tranquil.

Qing Xuanzi frowned. He didn't sense any spiritual energy, but Rong Jiaojiao's reaction was so strong, which puzzled him.

"Strange, how come I didn't find anything?"

Following Rong Jiaojiao's gaze, they found that apart from the stream and the pool, there was nothing special about it.

Rong Jiaojiao waved her hands even more vigorously, making more urgent babbling sounds, as if urging him to hurry up and go over.

Qing Xuanzi's heart stirred, and he decided to follow Rong Jiaojiao's guidance to take a look.

Approaching the pool, they found the water to be crystal clear with some smooth pebbles on the bottom, but otherwise, they found nothing unusual.

Patting the agitated Rong Jiaojiao's head: "Jiaojiao, stop fooling around. Master hasn't found anything. Let Master look for it."

As he spoke, he slowly probed his senses into the water, searching for any possible clues.
