Chapter 30 Body Modification

Rong Lianhu was very worried: "Brother, Jiaojiao is so young, can she handle it? Will there be any problems?"

Qing Xuanzi shook his head: "I can feel that Jiaojiao's body is only becoming stronger little by little, rather than being filled all at once, so it shouldn't be harmful to Jiaojiao."

The two of them didn't dare to sleep for the rest of the night until dawn, when the little one's temperature gradually returned to normal. And he was perfectly fine, his little face was rosy, and he was incredibly cute.

Both of them breathed a sigh of relief, and Rong Lianhu got up to cook porridge. It was all thanks to Qing Xuanzi for preparing everything.

Awakened by his noise, Rong Jiaojiao was still half asleep when Qing Xuanzi held her and rocked her. Soon, she fell asleep again.

Once the porridge was cooked, Rong Lianhu quickly blew on a bowl to cool it down for Rong Jiaojiao before Qing Xuanzi shook her awake.

When we fed her porridge, she yawned one after another, but she ate all the porridge that was put in her mouth without refusing it. After eating, she finally woke up.

Qing Xuanzi and Rong Lianhu quickly finished eating and packed up their things. They held Rong Jiaojiao in front of them, covered the fire in the cave, and prepared to leave.

Qing Xuanzi cleaned everything with a cleansing talisman, then gave a bow to Rong Lianhu, and the two continued on their way.

They proceeded along the other side of the valley, with Qing Xuanzi carefully searching the surrounding environment with his divine sense along the way.

They didn't let any small prey go unpicked, and by the time they reached the mouth of the valley, they had caught more than ten more animals.

Just as they were about to leave the valley, they heard a series of "humming" sounds ahead.

Rong Lianhu turned his head, his eyes burning as he looked at Qing Xuanzi and said, "Brother, there are wild boars ahead!"

Qing Xuanzi naturally noticed this as well, and nodded, saying, "That's right, we're lucky today. We have two adult wild boars and three half-grown ones."

Rong Lianhu's eyes lit up even more, and he took out a bow and arrow from his back, ready to respond at any moment.

Qing Xuanzi, not wanting to carry around the bloodied wild boar, pulled out several talismans, preparing to use magic to bind it.

They approached silently, and when they were close enough, Qing Xuanzi suddenly made his move, sending out several talismans that instantly bound all five wild boars.

The wild boars struggled in terror, but could not break free of their restraints.

Rong Lianhu quickly stepped forward, preparing to shoot the wild boar with his bow and arrow, but was stopped by Qing Xuanzi.

He tossed out a wooden stick and said, "Use this to knock them unconscious. I'll put them away then, and they'll die on their own. No need to make a mess of blood everywhere."

Rong Lianhu touched his nose, thinking to himself: [What a fuss.]

But he still quickly took the stick, stepped forward, and struck the heads of several wild boars with force.

Soon, all five wild boars fell to the ground. Qing Xuanzi nodded in satisfaction, waved the talisman in his hand, and a flash of light appeared. The five wild boars disappeared instantly.

Rong Lianhu asked, "Brother, can your sleeve hold so many wild boars?"

Qing Xuanzi nodded: "It can fit, but I didn't use the 'Sleeve Universe' technique just now, but a spatial talisman."

"This spatial talisman is for one-time use. Once you go back and release what's inside, the talisman will lose its effect."

Rong Lianhu gave a thumbs up: "That's really impressive. It would be even more impressive if you could give me a few more."

Qing Xuanzi glanced at him and said, "Don't even think about it. Talismans can only be activated with divine sense or spiritual power, and you can't do either."

Rong Lianhu shut up, and Qing Xuanzi smiled and walked ahead, saying, "Follow me, it'll be another two hours to the cave with groundwater I mentioned."

They continued on, passing through a dense forest where sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the ground, and the temperature grew increasingly hot.

Rong Jiaojiao was already sweating. She irritably scratched her face. Qing Xuanzi saw this and quickly took out a talisman and slapped it on the three of them. The cool feeling made people sigh.

Rong Jiaojiao quieted down, but she would still occasionally beckon some random things to her hands.

This forced Qing Xuanzi to keep a close eye on her at all times. As soon as he sensed any fluctuations in Rong Jiaojiao's spiritual consciousness, he would immediately become alert, which made him both amused and exasperated.

The mountain path was rugged, but the two of them didn't seem to care at all, their steps light and quick, as if the mountain path was just a piece of cake for them.

Upon reaching the deep mountains, Rong Jiaojiao found two more precious medicinal herbs: one was a hundred-year-old ginseng, and the other was several Ganoderma lucidum growing on a tall, withered tree.

Both times, Qing Xuanzi took them away, only giving Rong Jiaojiao an aged Ganoderma lucidum.

It wasn't that he wanted to take Rong Jiaojiao's things, but rather that he wasn't sure what would happen to Rong Jiaojiao after she received those good things, so he didn't dare let her continue absorbing them.

After walking for more than two hours, Qing Xuanzi led Rong Lianhu to a mountain peak and pointed to a section of mountain wall on the edge of a large basin formed between several mountains, saying, "We've arrived, this is it."

Looking down from the mountaintop, the basin is not large, only about a hundred acres.

The place Qing Xuanzi was pointing to was right opposite them, where there was a cliff stretching for miles.

From here, the cliff is half-hidden by tall trees, and the remaining half is uneven and extremely steep, with a small patch of shrubs occasionally growing on the cliff face.

Rong Lianhu did not see the cave in the direction Qing Xuanzi was pointing. Seeing his confusion, Qing Xuanzi explained, "Let's go. The cave is at the bottom of the cliff. You can only see it when you get there."

He then took the lead and walked down through the gaps between the trees.

Rong Lianhu followed closely behind, asking as they walked, "Brother, how deep is this cave? Are there any dangers inside?"

Qing Xuanzi recalled his first visit when he was only fifteen or sixteen years old, but his memory of the place was still very clear. He said, "I'm not sure how deep it is, because I didn't explore it in depth at the time."

"Now, the water in the surrounding mountains has basically dried up, and I'm afraid that the animals in the surrounding area will come here to find water."

"But as long as I don't encounter a pack of tigers or a pack of bears, I should be able to handle the rest."

Rong Lianhu laughed and said, "Where am I supposed to find you a herd of tigers and a herd of bears?"

Qing Xuanzi smiled, but said seriously, "Although there's no possibility of tigers or bears, anything can happen in these deep mountains, so we can't let our guard down."

"When I first came to this mountain, I encountered a pack of wolves, so we still have to be careful."

Rong Lianhu nodded, his vigilance increasing even further.

The two talked as they walked down the steep hillside.

The place where they were going downhill wasn't a cliff, but because of the steep slope, the path under their feet was difficult to walk on.

Fortunately, Qing Xuanzi and Rong Lianhu were both agile and quickly arrived at the foot of the hill.

Perhaps because this is a basin, the trees have not been affected by the drought; their leaves are still lush and green, there is still some moisture in the air, and the temperature is much lower.

However, before they even reached the bottom of the slope, Qing Xuanzi spotted a herd of wild deer in his divine sense from afar. They were very wary, taking a bite of grass and then looking up to glance around.
