"I did it!" Rong Zhigao shouted excitedly, his eyes filled with joy.
Qing Xuanzi smiled and nodded. Seeing Rong Zhiyuan looking at him eagerly, he smiled and said, "Zhiyuan, why don't you give it a try? I'll guide you."
Rong Zhiyuan's eyes sparkled as he thanked Qing Xuanzi expectantly, "Thank you, Uncle!"
Qing Xuanzi taught Rong Zhiyuan in the same way. He held Rong Zhiyuan's hand and slowly poured his gentle spiritual power into his body.
Rong Zhiyuan felt a warm current flowing through his body. Gradually, he could also feel his internal energy surging. Although it was slightly slower than Rong Zhigao's, he was still able to guide it to his arms.
"Very good, you've done very well." Qing Xuanzi released his hand and encouraged him with a smile, "Now, try to feel and guide it yourself. Don't rush, take it slowly."
Rong Zhiyuan closed his eyes, tried to concentrate, and followed Qing Xuanzi's instructions to try to draw his internal energy from his dantian and slowly flow it to his arms.
Fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead, but his eyes were unusually focused. After several attempts, he successfully channeled a wisp of internal energy into his arm.
"I did it!" Rong Zhiyuan opened his eyes, waved his arm excitedly, and his face was full of a sense of accomplishment.
Qing Xuanzi smiled and nodded: "You two have good martial arts talent. As long as you keep practicing, you will definitely get stronger and stronger."
The two brothers smiled at each other, their eyes filled with anticipation for the future.
Looking at them, Qing Xuanzi felt gratified.
Although these two children are not exceptionally talented, they possess unwavering perseverance and a passion for martial arts. Given time, they will surely become outstanding martial artists.
"Alright, you all take a rest first," Qing Xuanzi said. "When Jiao Bao wakes up, we'll eat something together and then continue practicing."
The two brothers nodded, wiped the sweat from their foreheads, and sat down to rest.
A moment later, Rong Jiaojiao's voice came from inside the house: "Father Xi, Bao is awake!"
Rong Zhigao and Rong Zhiyuan immediately stood up and ran into the house, arriving at Rong Jiaojiao's bedside even faster than Qing Xuanzi.
Rong Jiaojiao rubbed her eyes, saw her two older brothers, and smiled brightly: "Big brother, little brother!"
Rong Zhiyuan shouted exaggeratedly, "Brother, did you hear that? My sister is calling us 'brother' now, not 'gaga' anymore!"
Rong Zhigao was also delighted: "My little sister will be three years old soon, and she can distinguish between her older brother and younger brother. She's really grown up!"
When Rong Jiaojiao heard her brothers' praise, her little face turned rosy, making her look even cuter.
She climbed off the kang (a heated brick bed), wobbled over to the edge, grabbed her two older brothers' hands, and said in a childish voice, "Brothers, Bao needs to pee!"
Qing Xuanzi quickly came over and put a cold-proof talisman on Rong Jiaojiao before taking her outside to relieve herself.
The day was spent teaching the three children various skills. Before Fu Ya got off work, Qing Xuanzi asked Rong Zhigao and Rong Zhiyuan to cook. When Fu Ya arrived in town after get off work, there was already a hot meal waiting for her.
During the meal, Qing Xuanzi asked Rong Lianhu, "Did Lianhu say approximately when the mission will end?"
Fu Ya shook her head: "Before he went on the mission, he said that if the mission went smoothly, he would probably be back in a few days, but if it didn't go smoothly, it was hard to say. So I don't know when he will be back."
Qing Xuanzi nodded and didn't ask any more questions. After Fu Ya finished eating and played with her daughter for a while, she took her two sons home.
In the days that followed, Fu Ya took her two sons to town every morning and brought them home in the evening.
Gradually, people in the military compound started gossiping about Fu Ya again, saying that she was never home when Rong Lianhu was on a mission.
However, having learned from past mistakes, these words circulated only among the few military wives who had been punished, and they dared not say them aloud in public.
Fu Ya was unaware of all this. As the Lunar New Year's Eve drew closer and she didn't see her husband return, she became so worried that she lost even more weight.
The 28th was Fu Ya's day off.
No matter how much she missed her husband, she still had to celebrate the New Year. She planned to take her two sons and daughter to the supply and marketing cooperative to buy some New Year's goods.
There were many people in the town, so she asked Qing Xuanzi to help look after the three children.
Qing Xuanzi thought it would be good to bring Rong Jiaojiao along to see the excitement, so he agreed.
They came to the street. Because it was the Lunar New Year, even though it was a difficult year, there were still many people and lots of people in the town.
The streets were lined with all sorts of stalls, displaying red couplets, the character "福" (good fortune), and a dazzling array of New Year's goods.
Although supplies were not plentiful, many people were unable to buy what they wanted, and they all looked helpless.
Fu Ya led Rong Zhigao and Rong Zhiyuan by the hand, while Qing Xuanzi carried Rong Jiaojiao in his arms, as they weaved through the crowd.
The children's eyes were wide open, looking around with curiosity at everything.
This scene, in the eyes of those with impure motives, became irrefutable evidence of Fu Ya's promiscuity.
Hu Xiaoxiao and Aunt Ma were also shopping at the department store with Feng Baozhu. When Aunt Ma saw Rong Jiaojiao, who was fairer and fatter than Feng Baozhu, she couldn't hide the jealousy in her eyes.
Qing Xuanzi felt someone staring at him with unfriendly eyes, turned his head, and his gaze landed precisely on Granny Ma.
Startled by his cold gaze, Aunt Ma quickly looked away, inwardly cursing, "Pah, adulterous couple!"
Qingxuanzi didn't know what she was thinking, but he could sense the malice emanating from her.
He didn't recognize the woman, but guessed that she might know Fu Ya. However, there were many people around, so he didn't ask Fu Ya.
They went to the fabric store, where Fu Ya planned to make a new padded jacket for Rong Jiaojiao.
What they didn't know was that in just a short while, Aunt Ma and the others went back.
Back home, Aunt Ma became increasingly resentful. Looking at her thin, small granddaughter, her jealousy and resentment grew stronger.
She thought Rong Lianhu was really vicious. His master could raise Rong Jiaojiao to be so plump and healthy, how could he not be a good person?
They won't even give me some rice or flour when I ask them to. It's not like I'm asking them for nothing.
"That Fu Ya is shameless!" Aunt Ma cursed as she tidied up the house. "But Rong Lianhu deserves it too. Every time there's a mission, Fu Ya runs to town every day. I wonder if she's trying to seduce that man!"
After Hu Xiaoxiao finished putting her daughter to sleep and came out, she heard Aunt Ma muttering something. She didn't hear clearly and asked, "Mom, what did you say? Why are you muttering?"
Aunt Ma put down the rag and said, "I didn't say anything. I was just talking to myself because I had nothing else to do."
After saying that, he turned and left. She couldn't let this self-proclaimed intellectual wife hear what she said, otherwise she would be accused of teaching the child bad habits again.
As Aunt Ma walked along, she remembered that Liu Laidi didn't like Fu Ya. With a quick thought, she turned around and went to Liu Laidi's house.
