Chapter 384 Water Spirit Orb

"Boom—!"

Amidst deafening thunder, all the puppets vanished into thin air at the same time.

The three giant eyes let out a mournful wail, and the black blood vessels in the whites of their eyes burst one after another.

The ground began to shake violently, and the writhing flesh withered at a visible speed.

"It's not over yet!" Mo Zhizhou suddenly pointed to the ground. "The demon spirit is trying to escape!"

Sure enough, a dark red light was rapidly heading deeper into the earth's veins.

Zi Ling transformed into lightning and gave chase, but was repelled the moment she came into contact with the black light!

"Let me do it!" Rong Jiaojiao suddenly pricked her finger and drew an ancient blood talisman on the Demon Suppression Stele.

The inscription on the monument suddenly lit up with a dazzling red light: "With my lifeblood, I invoke the might of heaven—Nine Dragons Suppress Demons, Forbidden!"

The Demon-Suppressing Stele crashed to the ground with a bang, and nine dragon-shaped phantoms flew out of the stele and burrowed into the ground.

A moment later, a deafening explosion came from underground. A red light broke through the soil and tried to escape, but Rong Jiaojiao, who was prepared, sucked it in with her jade bottle. A moment later, she spat out a blue bead.

"Water Spirit Orb!" Liu Hanyan exclaimed in surprise.

The spirit pearl that had been corrupted by demons had now returned to its original crystal-clear form, though its surface was covered with cracks.

Zi Ling carefully carried it back and placed it in Rong Jiaojiao's palm.

As the Water Spirit Orb was purified, the entire oasis's flesh and blood nest began to crumble.

The three giant eyes roared in resentment before finally turning into black smoke and dissipating.

The first rays of sunlight in the morning pierced through the clouds and shone on the ravaged sand.

To everyone's surprise, clear water suddenly gushed out from the dried-up spring, forming a small puddle in the blink of an eye.

"The ley lines... have recovered?" Night Owl stared at his feet in disbelief.

Mo Zhizhou breathed a sigh of relief: "Although the Water Spirit Orb is damaged, it has at least preserved its original essence. Given time, this oasis will regain its vitality."

Rong Jiaojiao looked at the Water Spirit Orb in her hand and asked, "Should we put this Water Spirit Orb back in this spring?"

Mo Bai quickly said, "No, it hasn't recovered yet, and it's easier for evil cultivators or demonic spirits to exploit it, which will cause even more trouble."

"Then what should we do with this Water Spirit Orb?"

Qi Lan said, "Since you caught it, you can keep it. This water spirit pearl isn't very useful, but it can purify water when placed in a pool, and you can breathe freely in the sea if you hold it in your mouth. It does have some small uses."

Rong Jiaojiao was delighted: "Then I'll accept it."

With this, when we become stronger in the future, we can explore the deep sea.

Liu Hanyan felt a little envious, but she didn't say anything.

Rong Jiaojiao put away the Water Spirit Pearl, looked at the pool where wisps of bloody aura had not yet dissipated, and said, "Let's purify the evil aura here, otherwise people or livestock will get into trouble if they drink it."

Everyone nodded. Despite their exhaustion, they forced themselves to choose a spot and began purifying the ravaged land.

Liu Hanyan took out several purification talismans, and with a flick of her fingers, the talismans turned into specks of golden light that scattered down.

Qi Lan used her sword as a brush to draw a purification array on the ground.

Night Owl manipulated the mechanical arm to evenly sprinkle the specially made purifying powder around the spring.

Mo Bai suddenly sat cross-legged, his hands forming a mudra as he chanted the Purifying Heaven and Earth Mantra.

As the incantation was recited, a soft white light emanated from his body, and the residual bloodlust in his path melted away like ice and snow.

Zi Ling wasn't idle either. It stood at the edge of the spring, its purple lightning pattern on its forehead emitting a pure purple light.

The light merged into the ground, causing the spring water to shimmer with a faint purple glow, and the wisps of malevolent energy dissipated into the world.

Rong Jiaojiao also chose a location and set up a purification talisman array. As the last trace of evil energy was purified, everyone finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Qi Lan said, "Everyone is quite exhausted, so let's hurry up and recover. Afterwards, let's go deeper into the desert and see if there are any other traces of demonic spirits."

Everyone nodded and sat down cross-legged to begin regulating their breathing and recovering.

Zi Ling lay down next to Rong Jiaojiao, closed her eyes to rest, and continued to absorb the demonic seeds she had previously devoured.

After a period of recuperation, by noon, everyone's spiritual energy had been fully restored.

Liu Hanyan asked, "Where do we go next?"

Qi Lan summoned his flying sword and said, "There are a few oases before this desert. Let's go take a look."

“Let’s go to the nearest oasis first,” Qi Lan said, pointing ahead. “It’s not far from here, we should be able to get there quickly before dark.”

Everyone nodded. Rong Jiaojiao carried Zi Ling onto Qi Lan's flying sword, Ye Xiao took Liu Hanyan, and Mo Zhizhou took Mo Bai. The three flying swords flew into the sky together.

As darkness fell, they saw the oasis in the distance once again.

However, as they approached, they discovered that something was amiss with the oasis.

“There’s a bloodthirsty aura here, but it’s very weak,” Mo Bai said, frowning. “It doesn’t look like there are any demonic spirits here.”

Night Owl's mechanical arm trembled slightly, and he whispered, "There is indeed no strong demonic energy fluctuation."

“Let’s go down and take a look,” Qi Lan said. “Maybe we’ll find some clues.”

Everyone landed and stood at the edge of the oasis.

They discovered that although the water in this oasis was clear, the surrounding area appeared somewhat barren and lifeless.

“The water here is fine.” Liu Hanyan took out a water bottle, filled it with some water, and said after careful observation, “It should be free of demonic contamination.”

Zi Ling remained motionless on its master's shoulder, indicating that it hadn't discovered anything either.

“Then let’s go to the next oasis,” Rong Jiaojiao said. “Maybe there will be more obvious clues there.”

The group flew on their swords again, heading towards the next oasis.

However, two days later, when they found the second oasis, the situation became even stranger.

“The bloodlust here is stronger than the previous one,” Mo Bai said, “but there are no obvious demonic spirits present.”

Night Owl manipulated the mechanical arm to probe the area and said, "There is no trace of blood and evil energy underground, nor any demonic spirits."

“It seems that demonic spirits have indeed been here,” Qi Lan said in a deep voice, “or rather, evil beings have been here.”

“Let’s keep looking,” Rong Jiaojiao said. “We’re bound to find some clues.”

The group continued on to the next oasis, but two weeks later, they found the situation to be increasingly complicated.

They found several water sources, some completely devoid of bloodlust, others with some residual bloodlust, but none of them revealed any trace of the demonic spirit.

“The situation here is strange,” Mo Bai said. “The demons seem to know we’re here. They’re deliberately wasting our time, or their range of activity is much larger than we thought.”

Night Owl said with a solemn expression, "The original Blood Fiend Sect was located in the Western Liang Desert, and the Demon Spirit is very likely hiding there."
