Chapter 2: No Food

Li Mingxi was confused and wanted to ask who the little sister was. When he opened his mouth, he made an "ahhh" sound. "Hey, why can't I speak?"

Then I saw the old lady in gray-blue clothes picked her up, took off a diaper and touched it, "It turns out that the little girl has peed! Be good, grandma will change the diaper for you."

Li Mingxi sadly discovered that she was actually that little sister. It turned out that she was not reborn, but reincarnated.

Reincarnation is acceptable, but what should I do if I can't control my peeing? It's not fun at all to degenerate to the stage of a human cub, Li Mingxi thought.

Niu Cuihua took a diaper and changed it for Li Mingxi, then put Li Mingxi on the bed and went out with the diaper.

A group of children gathered around, and a dark-skinned little boy said, "The little sister is so pretty, much prettier than Dazhuang's little brother. She's so white, just like a white flour bun."

A little girl with pigtails retorted, "Ermao, have you ever eaten white flour buns? How do you know how white they are?"

"Sister, don't pay attention to Ermao. He doesn't know anything and just plays every day." said a slightly taller boy.

"Sister Erni, do you think my sister is pretty?" Ermao immediately asked another thin and small girl with dissatisfaction.

"It's beautiful, beautiful, beautiful," the girl said nervously, pinching the hem of her clothes. Erni glanced down at her sister as she said this, and at this time, the little boy standing on the other side of her had already grabbed Li Mingxi's little face with one hand and pinched it.

He pinched her while saying, "She's so soft." Although he didn't use much force, it still hurt Li Mingxi, who cried out loudly, and the group of children were scared.

Ermao hurriedly scolded Wumao, "What are you doing? You've ruined my sister."

Hearing the child crying, Niu Cuihua hurried into the house, picked up the child and coaxed him.

After Li Mingxi stopped crying, she asked what happened. Then Ermao screamed, "Nanny, nana, nana, it was Wumao. He just pinched my little sister." Upon hearing this, Niu Cuihua glared at Wumao and carried Li Mingxi out of the house.

Niu Cuihua carried Li Mingxi directly to the west room. Seeing that her daughter-in-law Zhang Huilan had woken up, she quickly put the child on the bed and said, "Do you have milk? Feed him quickly. He must be hungry." Zhang Huilan took the child and placed him on her chest.

Li Mingxi was already very hungry. Although it was embarrassing to drink milk, she was a child now, so it was okay. She just sucked it in big gulps.

Zhang Huilan only felt her chest was swollen and a little painful. Although Li Mingxi had been sucking for a long time, no milk came out.

Seeing that the child couldn't get any milk, Niu Cuihua could only quickly order her eldest daughter-in-law, "Old lady, quickly make some millet porridge for the little girl."

When Zhang Xiuzhi heard her mother-in-law's instructions, she guessed that the fourth child's family probably had no milk, so they could only make do with this for the time being.

When Liu Zhaodi heard what her mother-in-law said, she said nothing and just curled her lips.

Niu Cuihua thought that millet porridge was not good for the baby and it would be better for her to drink breast milk, so she walked out of the west room and went to the main room.

"Big brother, you and the fourth brother go check if there are any fish in the river. The little girl can't get her milk. This is not a solution."

"Mom, the river outside is frozen now. I guess there are no fish. Even if there are fish, we won't be able to catch them!" The eldest brother Li Aijun looked at his mother Niu Cuihua with embarrassment.

Niu Cuihua knew her eldest son was right, but she had no choice but to say with certainty, "If I tell you to go, then go. Why are you saying so much?"

Li Aijun had no way to resist Niu Cuihua. After all, in this family, the mother had the final say, and even Old Man Li could not do anything about it. He just followed his fourth brother and walked out step by step.

Not long after Li Aijun and Li Aiguo left, the millet porridge was ready.

Zhang Xiuzhi went to the west room with a bowl in her hand. "Fourth sister-in-law, the rice porridge is ready. If you are not feeling well right now, I will help you feed it."

"Okay, thank you for your help, sister-in-law." Zhang Huilan hurriedly thanked her.

Li Mingxi was already extremely hungry. Seeing the rice porridge being brought to her mouth, she opened her mouth and started to eat it with big mouthfuls. Seeing the child eating, Zhang Huilan felt relieved, but she still blamed herself in her heart. After all, she had no milk, so her daughter could only drink millet porridge.

After Li Mingxi finished eating, Zhang Xiuzhi put her on the bedside. Looking at the sad face of her fourth brother's wife, she hurried to comfort her.

"Don't worry, my fourth brother's wife. It's hard to produce milk at first, but it will be fine in a few days. If it really doesn't work, ask my fourth brother to go see which family has sheep. There's a family on my mother's side who doesn't have milk, but they feed their children goat milk, and they've grown plump and white."

After listening to her sister-in-law's words, Zhang Huilan had a plan in mind and was not so worried anymore.

On this side, Li Aiguo and his elder brother Li Aijun walked to the river and saw that the river surface was covered with ice, so they could only smash a big hole in the river surface.

They thought there would be no fish in such a cold day, but not long after they finished, they saw several big fish jumping out of the hole, so the two brothers hurriedly took the basket to pick up the fish.

I saw that the fish was bigger than an adult's palm. It weighed about three or four pounds when it was held in the water. In a short while, the basket was filled.

Then they saw the fish swimming away as if someone was chasing it. Without thinking too much, the two brothers hurried back home, after all, it was freezing outside.

As soon as he arrived at the door of his house, Li Aijun excitedly called for his mother. Niu Cuihua heard the noise in the house and hurried out to ask what was going on.

"Mom, the fourth child and I caught a lot of fish. Come and have a look." As he said that, he handed the basket to Niu Cuihua to see. Niu Cuihua saw that the basket was full and asked anxiously what happened.

"I don't know either. The fourth brother and I went to the river. It didn't look like there were any fish in the river, but we still dug a hole in it. After a while, many fish jumped out and were picked up by the fourth brother and I," said the eldest brother Li Aijun.

"That's right, that's right, Mom. You don't know how happily those fish jump. After we pick up a basket, those fish scatter. It's magical," Li Aiguo also hurriedly said.

"No matter what, these fish are ours now. It's been a while since we've had meat. The old and the young can have something good to eat. Maybe Xiaobao can have something good to eat too."

Niu Cuihua said happily, and quickly took the fish to the kitchen.
