Ten minutes ago, Ou Ranyu watched Chen Can and his group leave the "Du Family Secret Recipe" and go around to the South Road from another road. Just as they reached the bottom of the camphor tree, they were dragged into the alley by people who came from the other side.
The five men looked him up and down, and the one with the buzz cut in the lead said, "Ou Ranyu, do you know why you were called here?"
Ou Ranyu looked him in the eye, his eyes piercingly cold.
The man with the buzz cut felt uncomfortable with his cold gaze and said coldly, "Have you ever seen a USB drive?"
The crew cut took out his phone and pointed at a tick on the screen.
A blue USB flash drive with an “X” on it.
Ou Ranyu looked at the USB drive without saying a word
"Don't play dumb. I checked. You were in the computer room that day. Your seat number is 23. If you took it, return it now and I won't do anything to you."
He had his hair in his pockets and looked very impatient.
Ou Ranyu moved his lips, but before he could say anything, he was interrupted by the sound of breaking glass.
A pile of glass bottles not far away suddenly fell over and shattered onto the ground.
Fragments flew everywhere, piercing the few brothers standing nearby and making them grimace and curse.
Just then, a man rushed up from behind Ou Ranyu.
"Hey, why does classmate Chen come to join in the fun?" The man with the crew cut said in a mocking tone, and a group of younger brothers behind him started to move again.
"Isn't it allowed for my father to come and see my sons?" Chen Can stood in front of Ou Ranyu and forced a smile at the person opposite.
"Who are you to bark like a dog here?"
Chen Can saw that monkey face again and clenched his fist: "Want to fight?"
Two gusts of wind blew from behind and stopped on Chen Can's side.
"Light Bulb, you rushed here in such a hurry just for these people?" Zhu Baifeng raised his eyebrows and looked at the group of people opposite him. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a little disgust towards Ou Ranyu who was blocked behind Chen Can.
It’s him again!
"Light bulb, do you want to turn it on?" Li Yachang pretended to put down her backpack.
The two gangs are on the verge of a fight.
"The USB flash drive is not with me." Ou Ranyu's flat voice echoed in the alley.
A glimmer of sinister light flashed in the crew cut's eyes, but he immediately suppressed it. He had just come out of the police station, and if a fight broke out again... The crew cut loosened his clenched fists and said fiercely, "Very good, let's go!"
After the man with the crew cut left with his fellow brothers in resentment, Chen Can was also pushed away by Zhu Baifeng and Li Yachang.
Ou Ranyu stood still in the alley for a few seconds. Broken glass shone coldly on the ground, and there was a musty smell mixed with stale wine. Ou Ranyu picked up a few pieces of broken glass, held them in his hand, and walked out of the alley.
Chen Can was standing under the camphor tree, with his droopy bag half slung over his shoulder, seemingly waiting for someone.
"Are you leaving or not?"
Chen Can lifted the bag on his shoulder and waited for Ou Ranyu to come over.
"Where are you going?"
Ou Ranyu followed Chen Can like a chicken.
"My home."
Chen Can spoke hastily, but immediately changed his tone: "Forget it, let's go for a walk in the park over there."
Why did Chen Can take him around? Maybe he was afraid that he would get depressed alone.
"That USB flash drive..." Ou Ranyu just started but was interrupted again.
"It can't be the tattered one you showed me." Chen Can thought of this and turned to look at Ou Ranyu.
"They gave it to me, and it's not a good thing." Ou Ranyu looked back calmly without disguising anything.
"They're not the same group you were talking about, are they? They want to take back what you gave them?"
"Not the group just now, they are 'they'. They want you to join them, and I'm here to stop you from joining them. If you join them, you will be written into that white notebook."
Chen Can suddenly thought of the contents of several pages of the notebook. Except for the victim and the murderer, none of them had a good ending.
"Then what is your identity?" Chen Can asked.
Are you really trying to stop him by approaching him step by step?
The topic changed too forcefully, and Ou Ranyu was unable to answer for a moment.
Chen Can stared at him, always wanting an answer
Blood was oozing out of Ou Ranyu's clenched fist, and the blood was flowing uncontrollably onto the ground.
Chen Can stared at Ren's hand, frowning even deeper. "What are you doing? You got your hand like this?" Chen Can couldn't stand it anymore and looked away. "Stop it now, don't let it flow."
Ou Ranyu held his hand tighter and stubbornly, like a child asking for candy, refused to let go no matter what.
"To be honest, I was assigned by 'them', but I just wanted to save you."
"Alright, let go!"
Chen Can glanced at the shocking pool of blood on the ground and couldn't help but grab Ou Ranyu's hand and forcibly pry open his fingers.
He couldn't pry it open, and his hands were covered in blood.
"Are you going to let go? Damn it, if you don't, I really won't care about you anymore." Chen Can held down Ou Ranyu's arm.
Ou Ranyu suddenly let go of his hand, and the transparent white glass was stained red with blood and deeply embedded in the flesh.
"Oh my god! You—"
Chen Can loosened his grip and didn't dare to pull hard.
"Go to the hospital immediately and get it treated."
Chen Can held his arm tightly, not daring to drag him away.
Ou Ranyu's expression remained unchanged, his lips pale as he plucked, loosened, and dropped the glass in his hand. His movements were smooth and effortless, without any hesitation.
Only the blood on the palm of my hand kept flowing.
Fortunately, it was late at night and the pedestrians around were in a hurry and could not see their situation clearly, otherwise they would think they were doing some bloody activities.
Chen Can couldn't remember how he dragged Ou Ranyu home with trepidation, or how he washed, disinfected, and bandaged his hands. When Ou Ranyu left his house with a bandage that couldn't be uglier, he had only one thought in his mind -
Don’t provoke Ou Ranyu anymore!
The next morning, Ou Ranyu didn't come. Chen Can stared at the empty seat next to him for a long time. Finally, he borrowed the notebook from the table in front of him and completed all the notes he had taken in class that morning.
The third day, the fourth day... until the day of the study tour, Ou Ranyu did not show up.
Perhaps feeling guilty, Chen Can actually attended classes for several days, taking meticulous notes. He even followed Ou Ranyu's example by organizing typical questions and key knowledge points. Even Zhu Baifeng was stunned, believing he had been struck by lightning. Chen Can also challenged Li Yachang, peppering her with questions for days, leaving her completely devastated. Li Changya's indirect questioning of Zhu Baifeng led to a unanimous conclusion: Chen Can had indeed been struck by lightning, and severely.
At nine o'clock on Sunday evening, the doorbell of Chen Can's house rang.
With just this sound, Chen Can came out of the bathroom. He had no time to wipe the ends of his dripping hair, so he peeked through the peephole and saw no one was there, so he went back to the bathroom to wipe his hair.
Outside, Ou Ranyu stood in the corridor. The gauze on his hand had been changed and no more blood was seeping out. He stared at the closed door without waiting for anyone to open it. He turned out of the corridor and looked up at the window that was shining with warm light.
Chen Can opened the window. The morning breeze carried a hint of the night air, cool but not damp, clear but not unpleasant. The streets were deserted.
It opened for a while and then closed again.
As soon as Chen Can opened the door, he saw a bag of red tomatoes on the ground with a note with sharp handwriting stuck on the bag.
"Let me stay overnight."
Chen Can silently pulled the corner of his mouth, opened the bag, took out a bag, weighed it in his hand, and put the rest back home.
He tossed the tomato he had just taken out, tossing it as he went to school. Before he even entered the classroom, a familiar figure appeared beside Chen Can's seat.
The figure behind him sensed a gaze and immediately
It turned around.
Ou Ranyu smiled at him with his good boy-like face, full of innocence.
"Good morning, have you had breakfast?"
Listen, what a warm greeting,
Chen Can just glanced at him and went straight back to his seat, smashing the tomato in his hand heavily on his desk.
It was morning study time, and Chen Can was reaching into his desk to pull out a book, but instead of the book, he found a warming box. He took it out and saw a carefully packed breakfast.
A bottle of yogurt, three cute glutinous rice balls wrapped together, emitting white steam.
Not too much, not too little, just right if you don’t eat it, and not too full if you eat it.
Chen Can went out after finishing breakfast. He stared at the box for a while and then pushed it back on the table.
Just as he was about to read seriously, a round red object appeared in his sight. Ou Ranyu quietly rolled the cigar onto Chen Can's book.
Chen Can's eyebrows jumped, and he pretended nothing happened as he picked up the tomato and put it under the table. Then he took another look and saw that there was a crying face drawn on the other side of the tomato with a pen, and a small hand with a cross drawn on it.
Chen Can put the tomato back on the table and when he looked back at the book, he found another note on it.
"I'm sorry, I was impulsive that day."
Ou Ranyu brought another note.
"Thank you, the bleeding stopped when I went back that day.
Chen Can silently crumpled the note into a ball and stuffed it back on the table without replying a single word.
Ou Ranyu looked at him eagerly with his puppy eyes downcast, and handed over his bandaged hand.
Chen Can hadn't read a single word when a hand suddenly appeared, blocking his view. White gauze wrapped around his palm, with the words "It hurts" written on it alongside a crying face. The black ink stood out against the white gauze.
Chen Can raised his head quietly following the hand, and unfortunately, his eyes met a pair of deep and sharp eyes outside the window.
"You two, get the books out!"
"Master Miejue" opened the window and said to the two "parties involved" in the classroom.
Chen Can had no way to redress his grievances or complain, so he and Ou Ranyu walked out the back door to the corridor in front of everyone else.
"Teacher, I am innocent!" Chen Can cried out that he was innocent, regardless of whether it was 37 or 47.
Nun Miejue raised her beautiful eyebrows and asked him, "What do you have to be wronged about? You've already read so much, and you're just playing with tomatoes under the table."
"I didn't play!" Chen Can glanced at Ou Ranyu and hurriedly defended himself.
"Teacher, Chen Can is innocent. It was me who provoked him and made him unable to concentrate on reading." Ou Ranyu spoke righteously to uphold justice for Chen Can.
That's true, but it's weird. …
Nun Miejue glanced at the glaring ink on his palm, and her beautiful face lit up even more. She suppressed her anger and spoke calmly, "Let's not talk about Ou Ranyu's earlier flirtation with Chen Can. Is it true that Chen Can, tossing an eggplant, entered the classroom just as the bell rang, and smashed a tomato on a classmate's desk, disturbing the students around him during morning study?"
Damn, how did I get seen!
Chen Can was speechless for a moment. He stood side by side with Ou Ranyu in the corridor and was lectured for twenty minutes. He was then punished to stand until the next morning reading session.
While reading aloud during the morning reading session, Ou Ranyu covered his face with the book, turned his head and silently said three words to Chen Can.
"sorry."
Chen Can didn't even look at him, fearing that he would be caught again.
Chen Can ignored Ou Ranyu until the end of morning reading. Ou Ranyu still kept talking to him, and tactfully reminded Chen Can to eat the breakfast on the table.
Chen Can was angry and slammed the breakfast box.
He slammed the floor on the table, feeling extremely angry and in need of something to put out the rage. He was just gnashing his teeth and swallowing a glutinous rice dumpling when the window was opened again.
Chen Can looked up reflexively, and Zhu Baifeng smelled
Wei stuck his head in and automatically treated Ou Ranyu as air.
"How do you know I'm not full?" Zhu Baifeng stretched out his hand and touched a dumpling.
"He bought it." Chen Can pointed at Ou Ranyu with his eyes.
Zhu Baifeng retracted his hand as if he had been electrocuted, as if he had touched something dirty, and wiped his hand in disgust.
Chen Can took the opportunity to eat the remaining two.
"I heard that you were punished by Mie Tai to stand just now. Was it him who did it?" Zhu Bai hinted at something.
"It's only been 30 minutes, and the news has spread quite fast.
"Hurry." Chen Can answered irrelevantly, inserted the straw, and sucked
I took a few bites of yogurt.
"It must have been him, I knew it!" Zhu Baifeng argued confidently, and when he inadvertently glanced at Ou Ranyu's bandaged hand, he couldn't help but feel suspicious. Thinking about the few days when Ou Ranyu disappeared and Chen Can's "struck by lightning" learning style, everything seemed to make sense.
Zhu Baifeng slapped the windowsill, suddenly realizing something and speaking with a heavy heart, "So all your hard work these days studying was just for Ou Ranyu!"
Countless gazes were drawn around.
"What are you shouting about? Go back." Chen Can pushed the man away without mercy and closed the window. Zhu Baifeng slammed the glass angrily, but the preparatory bell rang, so he had to give up.
Ou Ranyu tilted his head and looked at Chen Can, waiting for an explanation.
"What are you looking at? Class has started!" Chen Can forced his head to straighten. Ou Ranyu turned back stubbornly. Chen Can wordlessly blocked his sight with a book.
"My hand is injured and I can't overuse it. Can Chen Can lend me his notes?"
Before the teacher came, Ou Ranyu leaned over to Chen Can's ear and whispered
She asked him, raising her right hand with difficulty to show him.
"Can't you write with your left hand?" Chen Can pushed Ou Ranyu back.
"You really don't want to lend it to me?" Ou Ranyu stared at his intact left hand, thoughtfully.
Chen Can felt it was very dangerous.
"Are you threatening me?" Chen Can looked worried.
"I'm begging you." Ou Ranyu said sincerely.
Chen Can is sure that he will cripple his other hand as well. This is his way of asking for help.
"Here, I'll give it all to you!" Chen Can threw all the notes and question sets he had compiled over the past few days to Ou Ranyu. Ou Ranyu thanked him contentedly and put the notes away with great care.
The math teacher strode into the classroom with a voice like a bell. The class atmosphere gradually became tense, and Chen Can's nightmare began.
