1.
Chen Can's schoolbag was lost, but it wasn't a big deal. After all, it only contained a pack of tissues and his school badge. As for the school badge needed for the morning inspection on Monday, he could just ask for leave.
On Monday afternoon, Chen Can, who had just taken a leave, was on his way back to school. The midsummer sun was scorching. Chen Can walked along the tree-lined avenue through a starry sky. Occasionally, he could hear the chirping of cicadas, but they were not noisy, and the summer was quiet.
Chen Can forgot to check the time when he went out. It was lunchtime at this time, so he couldn't enter the school. He had to wait for an hour until the lunch break was over.
Within an hour, the weather changed faster than the facial makeup on an opera stage, and raindrops like marbles fell down without a trace.
Chen Can ran to a small pavilion nearby to shelter from the rain. After a while, a person holding an umbrella appeared in the rain. The rain was so heavy that it seemed to wash the person away. In the hazy light, Chen Can only saw an umbrella that was pulled down very low and two legs that seemed to be wearing school pants swaying in the rain.
It must be a fool, Chen Can thought simply and crudely. But a moment later, the fool entered the school gate.
Half an hour later, the rain had completely stopped. Chen Can entered the school, returned to the classroom, and sat down in his seat. On the desk, a neatly folded piece of paper was pressed down by a book.
Chen Can picked up the note and asked about it, and learned that someone had just handed it to him. Chen Can opened the note and found that it was obviously wet with a few drops of water, and two words were blurred.
"Student Chen Can, I found your schoolbag. Please go to my seat (the window seat in the last row of the fifth group of Class 05) before the end of the sixth period to get it."
What a strange person and thing.
Chen Can put the note away and fell asleep on the table before the teacher came. Fifteen minutes before the end of the class, Chen Can woke up and went to Class 05 to get his schoolbag under the pretext of going to the bathroom.
On the corridor, the rain started falling again at some point, dripping and quietly tapping on the window glass.
Chen Can arrived at Class 05 in the building opposite, accurately finding his seat by the window in the last row of Group 5. He immediately spotted his schoolbag lying on the table, and on top of it lay a thick, white, rubber-covered notebook. Chen Can flipped open the notebook, which was filled with his notes. He was captivated by them until the bell rang, when he reluctantly stuffed the notebook back into his desk. Then, he stumbled upon an upside-down school seal. He flipped it over and took a closer look. There was only the name "Ou Ranyu" on it, no photo.
Chen Can suddenly changed his mind. He took out the notebook and put it back into his schoolbag.
Never mind, I'll finish reading it first. People often take his stuff to read anyway. Just remember where you took it from and return it after you're done.
Chen Can was walking on the corridor when he heard a faint muffled sound. Then the window glass began to shake violently and it took a while for it to quiet down.
When he returned to the class, there was another commotion. Chen Can grabbed a few people and questioned them. After asking, he found out that the computer room had just exploded and half of the building was blown up. The class he was going to attend was probably also destroyed.
Chen Can asked again which classes were going to the computer room for class, and after asking, he found out that one of them was Class 05, which he had just visited.
He sat back in his seat, stuffed his schoolbag back onto the table, swallowed, drank a sip of water calmly, and his face turned pale.
How could it be such a coincidence?
During the seventh class, the whole school was informed that due to the explosion, all teachers and students were required to leave school immediately and the time for returning to school was to be determined.
Chen Can packed up his things hastily and left with his schoolbag on his back, as if in a trance.
He didn't go home immediately, but instead played games on his phone in the small pavilion where he'd taken shelter from the rain. After a while, his phone ran out of battery. He was about to leave with his schoolbag in his pocket when he turned around and saw someone carrying the same schoolbag as his entering the school gate.
Chen Can hurried over to see, stood at the school gate and looked inside, but there was nothing.
How could anyone go back to school at this time? I must have made a mistake.
2.
After being suspended from school, Chen Can returned home, lay on the bed and opened the notebook he had taken away today, but he couldn't read anything.
Was Ou Ranyu killed in the explosion?
Chen Can closed the notebook and stared at the white cover, lost in thought. The notebook was opened and closed again... over and over again.
There was a sudden knock on the window. Chen Can was startled and accidentally dropped his notebook on the bed. He looked out the window and saw a few birds flying by and disappeared in a flash.
Chen Can picked up the notebook and noticed that a corner of a laser paper stuck on the notebook had fallen off. Chen Can wanted to stick it back, but there was something written under the laser paper.
Chen Can decided to go all out and tore off the laser paper to find out what was inside.
"November 20, 19×2, Human Mirror..."
Chen Can continued reading, which revealed the details of the crime. He held his breath and tore open the small card at the back. It contained a hand-drawn diagram of the human body, covered in red markings, as if it had been cut open.
Chen Can tore open the next page of the character introduction note. Behind it was a picture of a dismembered person. Next to the picture, densely packed with small characters, was a detailed record of the dismemberment process...
Bang——
Chen Can slammed the notebook down, quickly let go, threw it to the ground, and ran to the bathroom downstairs to vomit for a long time. Although he didn't vomit anything, he squatted by the door and tried to calm his heartbeat.
Half an hour later, Chen Can slowly emerged from the bathroom and climbed up the stairs, holding onto the handrail. Entering the room, the notebook was still lying quietly on the floor. Chen Can carefully moved his feet, picked up the notebook again, placed it back on the desk, turned on the desk lamp, and slowly opened the notebook again.
It's just a notebook, don't be afraid.
Chen Can looked at the first page of stickers he had recommended, and slowly tore it open. Under the stickers appeared a note.
"May 22, 20×0, Journey into the Secret Chamber..."
Chen Can tore off a page and read it. The content was all about the bloody process of the crime. Chen Can actually read almost the entire notebook. It was amazing. Chen Can almost got used to these horrific bloody crimes.
…
Watch till the last case.
"July 12, 20×5, snowflakes flying..." It happened to be a daytime explosion, and the entire process of the crime was described in detail without exception, even describing the entire process of each student being killed in the explosion, the tragic scene of death, where the fatal wounds were, which part of the body was deformed by the explosion, and which body tissue was blown to which corner of the school...
Chen Can couldn't help but feel like vomiting again, but he managed to hold back and finish reading the notes. He didn't know which student described in the notes was Ou Ranyu, or if there was no Ou Ranyu at all. If not, where would he be?
Now Chen Can was completely clear that this was a murder notebook. The things recorded did not seem to be recorded by a human, but they were recorded. Moreover, such a thing was in his hand. If someone deliberately let him take it away, then what exactly did this person want to do? Was it to frame him for murder or did he have other intentions?
Another question is whether Ou Ranyu is dead or not, and whether he planned all this.
In short, Chen Can now knows the secret and has a murder notebook in his hand, so he is in danger at any time.
Why him?
Chen Can was in great pain and silently stuffed the notebook back into his schoolbag. Inadvertently, he saw a neatly folded piece of paper in the small compartment.
Why didn't I see it before?
Chen Can took out the note and unfolded it. There were only four words on it: Yunji Meals
That was the stall that Chen Can went to every morning.
3.
Chen Can didn't sleep well that night. He dreamed of a man who called himself Ou Ranyu. He was covered with black cloth, holding the white notebook in one hand and chasing him with a knife in the other.
A moment later, I dreamed that I was in a computer room taking a class. Both of my arms were missing, and blood was oozing from the two torn ends. I turned around and saw the two broken arms typing on the keyboard next to them. The word "Help" in bold red color kept appearing on the screen.
After a while, he dreamed that a white notebook opened its bloody mouth and bit off his head in one bite.
Chen Can was startled awake for the third time. He sat on the bed in a daze for a while. In the silence, the hands ticked away. He turned on the light and glanced at the wall clock. It was only about 2:30 in the morning, and he was no longer sleepy.
Chen Can lay in bed, eyes open, until dawn. The sun was rising, its rays filtering through the cracks in the curtains.
Chen Can jumped out of bed and went downstairs to look for food. Unfortunately, there was nothing to eat at home. Between going out to eat and going upstairs to sleep, Chen Can didn't want to choose either. But even if he died ten thousand times in his dream, he didn't want to die once in reality.
Go upstairs, lie on the bed, and close your eyes.
4. At Yunji Restaurant, a young boy with a schoolbag on his back sat quietly on a stool, his two straight long legs neatly tucked under the table. The linen T-shirt he wore made his skin look even whiter, and he looked like a well-behaved student.
After a whole morning, the boy's sitting posture hadn't changed much. The boss couldn't help but come over and ask him, "Student, you've been sitting here all morning. Are you waiting for someone?"
The boy smiled and said, "Yes, what's the problem?"
Boss: “…” There is something wrong.
The boss didn't kick the boy out in the end.
Another afternoon passed, the sun slowly set, and the sunset glow hung tiredly in the sky.
The boss was packing up his stall and glancing at the young man from time to time. The young man looked calm and sat upright on the stool, showing no intention of leaving.
The boss couldn't help but go over to him and ask: "Student, we are closing the stall, why don't you leave?"
Boy: "Oh."
He finally got up and left, and before leaving he ordered the last two buns and one steamed dumpling.
The boy wandered to a residential area, took the food, walked into the corridor, went upstairs, and stood in front of a dark red door. He seemed to want to knock on the door, but he was not sure.
After a moment's stalemate, the boy finally knocked lightly on the door.
…
There was no response for a long time.
The boy finally let go and knocked on the door several times.
“Who is it?”
He heard someone in the house shout impatiently from afar, and then slowly went downstairs.
The footsteps were getting closer, and the boy held the plastic bag of food tighter in his hand.
The people in the room seemed to stand in front of the door for a while.
With a click, the door opened.
