Qingyun chuckled softly, reaching out to wrap his arms around Zou Minchen's neck. His jade-like hand even stroked Zou Minchen's stubble-covered chin, but his gaze grew increasingly inscrutable.
Zou Minchen's heart sank lower and lower, making it impossible for him to spare even the slightest attention for the stunned Zou Qiyao.
"Oh, I've met him twice. So he's President Zou's most beloved younger brother," Qingyun whispered, pinching Zou Minchen's chin.
"Very well, then go ahead and spend your life with your precious little brother." His tone suddenly turned sharp. Qingyun pulled away from Zou Minchen's arm, got off him, grabbed her coat from the sofa, and headed out.
“Baby, no…” Zou Minchen hurriedly grabbed Qingyun’s arm, but Qingyun slapped it away.
Zou Qiyao watched as Zou Minchen followed Qingyun out in a subservient manner, not even sparing him a glance. Only then did alarm bells begin to ring in his mind, and his body trembled as he subconsciously searched for a place to hide.
But he dared not move his body at all.
A scene from a Zou family banquet flashed through Zou Qiyao's mind again. Just because of a single sentence, Zou Minchen took his grandfather's cane and brutally broke his second uncle's leg.
Blood splattered all over the ground, and his second uncle's wails were deafening.
But no one in the Zou family dared to move, no one dared to speak up for him. The old man of the Zou family just watched his beloved youngest son crawling on the ground like an animal, and could only drink his tea with his eyes downcast.
To avoid disturbing Zou Minchen's "refined interest," everyone at the banquet had to put on a smile, stepping on the sticky bloodstains on the floor, dancing and chatting as his second uncle howled.
The smell of blood at that banquet overpowered the smell of alcohol, seeping deep into the hearts of everyone present and clinging tightly to their nerve endings. With the slightest stimulation, the scene from that day would come vividly to mind.
Even then, Zou Minchen remained indifferent; Zou Qiyao had never seen Zou Minchen so out of control.
Thinking about his own despicable thoughts, Zou Qiyao knew he was finished.
When Assistant Gu arrived, the wailing could no longer be heard from inside the villa.
As soon as he entered the room, he saw Zou Qiyao curled up on the floor, his face covered in blood, mumbling incoherently, "Sister-in-law will come back, sister-in-law will come back..."
Zou Minchen sat on the sofa folding an apron, carefully smoothing out every wrinkle, clearly cherishing it greatly.
"This must be something Young Master Xiao sent," Assistant Gu thought.
He had been following Zou Minchen all along, so he naturally knew about Zou Minchen's pursuit of Xiao Chengnuo over the years. Strangely enough, since meeting Xiao Chengnuo, Zou Minchen hadn't lost his temper for a long time. All the violence in his heart seemed to have found an outlet, turning into passion and tenderness that flowed towards Xiao Chengnuo.
Before meeting Xiao Chengnuo, Zou Minchen was a mad beast; no one knew when he would go berserk. After meeting Xiao Chengnuo, this beast seemed to have suddenly found its master, appearing much more docile, but also regaining its rationality, and still choosing to devour those it could.
