Chapter 139 Companion Beast 6

Thinking of this, a hint of ruthlessness involuntarily flashed in Lin Yuhao's eyes.

“My mother has been restless these days. Now that she has suddenly seen you, she is probably reminded of those days when she was forced to be like this, which is why her tone was a little harsh.”

Lin's mother then revealed her weariness, frowning as she weakly leaned against Lin Yuhao's chest.

"Forced?" Qingyun's voice rang out with sarcasm. He took a step closer to the mother and son who were leaning against each other, his eyes sharp and his words scathing. "My father must have been a fool. He forced you to become the lawfully wedded wife of the Qing family, forced you to dote on him, forced you to enjoy the rights of the Qing family's matriarch, and finally forced you to live with the murderer of your deceased husband while holding his property?"

Caught off guard by the fact that he had killed Qing Haolin, Lin Yuhao was taken aback. He was an extremely cautious man, and his methods were very secretive. Even Qing Haolin, who was fighting against him, did not realize that he had injected hidden energy into his body. How did Qing Yun know?

"Shut up!" Lin's mother scolded, her eyes wide. A hint of panic flashed through her mind, but she avoided the main point and said, "What does Qing Haolin's death have to do with Yuhao? Xiaoyun, Yuhao is your brother. Even if you resent me, you can't make false accusations like this."

Lin's mother gritted her teeth inwardly. Qingyun had always been obedient to the point of being timid. When had she ever become so sharp-tongued?

The classmates around Lin Yuhao who had cheered for him began to chime in. Nie Chenyuan, however, lowered his head and pondered. It was true that Lin's mother had been formally married into the Qing family by Qing Hao, and the wedding banquet had, as usual, invited all the well-known figures in the ancient martial arts world. It certainly didn't seem like there was any attempt to conceal anything.

"Brother?" Qingyun simply turned her head and quietly looked at Lin's mother. Apart from her slightly red eyes, she could not tell that he had been sharp-looking before.

"Mom, when he tried to kill me, did you tell him that he was my brother?"

The boy's words were impactful, making Nie Chenyuan's heart skip a beat.

Looking into Qingyun's clear eyes, he suddenly felt as if he were on Lin Yuhao's side, and his cold, indifferent attitude made him feel incredibly ashamed. He was about to step forward when Qingyun's completely cold gaze stopped him in his tracks.

Lin's mother was surprised, but on the surface she looked like she didn't know what Qingyun was talking nonsense, and shook her head helplessly.

She covered her face and sighed, "Xiaoyun, your birth was a mistake."

Qingyun turned and left without pausing at all, as if his biological mother's words of complete denial could no longer hurt him.

"Please excuse my poor appearance," Lin's mother said with a weary smile as she turned to Nie Chenyuan and the others. "Qingyun's attitude has always been somewhat extreme, but I never expected her to say something like this today."

Lin Yuhao smiled helplessly, but no matter how he tried to hide it, there was still a hint of displeasure on his face.

"Oh? It's all his fault?" Nie Chenyuan sneered, and without waiting for anyone's reply, he strode after Qingyun in the direction she had left.

Seeing this, Lin Yuhao finally couldn't help but show a hint of gritted teeth. He had spent so much time and effort to win over the Nie family, only to have it all ruined by Qingyun's two sentences.

Qingyun walked out of the school gate and got into the car sent to him by the Nie family, carefully searching for the original owner's memories of his family. He didn't believe that Lin's mother was forced back then, but this woman was extremely cunning, and finding evidence would probably not be easy.

"Change route, go to the Qing family's old residence," Qingyun said to the driver, raising her eyes.

Qingyun never expected to bring down Lin Yuhao today; the protagonist, supported by Heaven, does indeed possess some ability. Standing on the moral high ground, everyone around the protagonist seems blinded by a leaf, blinded by their own biases, simply following the protagonist's lead.

His words today only planted a seed of doubt in those around him. Qingyun wanted a complete reversal, and the next Ancient Martial Arts Tournament in three years would be a great opportunity.

By then, Qingyun's soul injuries will have healed, and her body will have been restored to its peak. The destroyed dantian, the plundered wealth and martial arts skills—Qingyun will make Lin Yuhao pay a thousandfold, a hundredfold, in the very place where he once made his name!

As for killing him? Qingyun would never do something so foolish as to inadvertently invite the wrath of Heaven. He would much rather watch Lin Yuhao suffer a fate worse than death than a clean and quick demise.

Following closely behind his own car was an extremely novel experience for Nie Chenyuan. To be precise, everything he had experienced since meeting Qingyun was novel.

Thinking of this, Nie Chenyuan couldn't help but let out a bitter laugh. He had truly been blind and naive; just before today, he had actually praised Lin Yuhao highly. And regarding Lin's mother, he hadn't even considered the various obvious flaws—this was completely out of character for him.

While waiting at the red light, Nie Chenyuan lit a cigarette and put it in his mouth. From the attitudes of Lin's mother and Lin Yuhao, Nie Chenyuan could easily guess what absurd and heartbreaking things Qingyun had experienced.

He could hardly imagine what Qingyun must have felt when she learned of this persecution from her own mother, to have accepted Lin Yuhao's abuse without fighting back. Otherwise, how could Lin Yuhao, who was only at the seventh level of the Acquired Realm, have harmed Qingyun, who was at the Perfected Acquired Realm?

No wonder Qingyun was so angry at his words when they first met. His words, such as "Lin Yuhao is kind and generous" and "your mother is there too," were like knives stabbing Qingyun in the heart.

A look of shame appeared on Nie Chenyuan's face. Yesterday, Qingyun was still clearing his meridians, but today he stood on the opposite side of Qingyun and reopened her bloody wound.

This child already ignored me, and now he's probably even more annoyed with me.

Suddenly, he involuntarily frowned; the road ahead wasn't the way back to the Nie family.

The Qing family's old residence? Qing Yun had actually returned to this place. As the car slowly approached, the scene that unfolded made Nie Chenyuan's heart clench, completely disrupting his thoughts.
