Chapter 24 The Golden Thigh That Clings On 12

"Cheng Nuo! Xiao Cheng Nuo!"

Upon seeing the two charred cars engulfed in flames, Zou Minchen felt a sharp pain in his eyes, and warm liquid was about to well up in his eyes.

Liar! Liar! We agreed to wait for him!

With bloodshot eyes, he was about to rush towards the ball of fire when he was forcefully pulled back by the bodyguards who arrived just in time.

A crowd gathered around, chattering amongst themselves. The bodyguards kept trying to comfort him, but Zou Minchen couldn't hear anything. All he knew was that his beloved youth was still inside.

He had finally been given a new lease on life, but now his heart had been forcibly pulled out of his body, causing him so much pain that he wanted to curl up in agony.

Just as Zou Minchen was on the verge of madness, he heard someone calling him.

"Zou Minchen".

The voice was like a clear spring, so familiar that Zou Minchen felt like crying. He turned his head with his hair disheveled and saw Qingyun standing behind him, her shirt pristine white, the coat he had picked out for her that morning still draped over her arm.

He's fine.

Zou Minchen shook off the bodyguards behind him and walked over. He reached out and gently touched the young man's warm cheek, the incredibly gentle movement as if afraid of shattering a dream.

"You're alright. You're alright, right?" Zou Minchen asked softly. Seeing the person in front of him nod, he pounced on him fiercely and wrapped him tightly in his arms.

He cupped Qingyun's face and kissed her deeply, even leaving bruises on her cheeks. It seemed that only in this way could Zou Minchen feel the pain in his chest subside a little.

"Silly boy, I promised I'd wait for you." Qingyun gently stroked Zou Minchen's back, speaking as if she had never considered leaving.

The bodyguard behind him came over and reported to Zou Minchen, "President, the one who drove the car that hit us was Xiao Chengzhe."

Upon hearing this, Zou Minchen slightly moved away, but his hands still gripped Qingyun's shoulders tightly.

His face was grim, and his voice was hoarse: "Didn't you say there was no danger?"

"I shouldn't have let you handle it yourself. From now on, you're not allowed to interfere in the Xiao family's affairs!"

"I'm fine, aren't I?" Qingyun gestured with her chin at him, then moved her foot as if she had kicked something. He looked down and saw a bag full of pink boxes.

Did this guy just empty the convenience store's entire stock?

Zou Minchen's eyes were as black as ink, completely devoid of any light. He pulled Qingyun tightly into his arms, followed her gaze to the bags on the ground, and said, word by word, "None of these can be wasted."

Qingyun was startled, a vague sense of unease creeping over her...

-

The project between the Zou Group and Ruixin Pharmaceutical has already begun, and the world is eagerly anticipating the outcome of this collaboration.

Although the results are not yet available, some of the mystery surrounding Ruixin Pharmaceutical has been lifted, and various aspects of the company are gradually being revealed, such as Zhao Bowen, who holds a high position in academia within the research team, and Xiao Chengnuo, the president of Ruixin Pharmaceutical.

Xiao Chengnuo's name is not unfamiliar, as Xiao's Pharmaceutical is a somewhat well-known company. But what's strange is that Zhao Bowen, who has been frequently poached by various research institutes and other companies, not only stays at Ruixin Pharmaceutical but also repeatedly talks about Xiao Chengnuo in conversations, praising him highly and even mistakenly referring to him as his teacher on several occasions.

This inevitably draws more attention to Xiao Chengnuo.

There are only a handful of families in Yancheng's high society, and everyone who attended Xiao's father's birthday banquet three years ago is extremely familiar with the name Xiao Chengnuo. But even if they valued Xiao Chengnuo and the Xiao family highly back then, it was only because they were associated with Zou Minchen.

But things are different now. Instead of inheriting the family fortune, Xiao Chengnuo, who founded Ruixin Pharmaceutical through his own efforts, has become a role model for wealthy young men. A new wave of excitement surrounding "Xiao Chengnuo" has swept through Yancheng's high society, but unlike the rampant discussions three years ago, this time no one dares to gossip. After all, neither of these two powerful figures is someone to be trifled with.

Xiao Chengnuo, who has been labeled as "not to be trifled with," has not appeared in the public eye recently.

Because... he still can't get out of bed.

This time it seems to have really touched a nerve with Zou Minchen. Zou Minchen, contrary to his usual behavior, kept Qingyun tightly by his side, and even stopped Xiao's parents, who came to visit after hearing the news, from entering the house.

He couldn't bear to force Qingyun, much less use any illegal means. He only took one measure, and that was to do it.

This guy didn't lose out at all. Qingyun ignored him for a week, and this time he kept Qingyun on the bed for a whole week. All the things Zou Minchen bought before were already used up.

Zou Minchen carried a bowl of porridge to the bedside and fed it to Qingyun. His face was tense: "From now on, you can only eat the food I feed you, wear the clothes I choose, and everything about you will be under my control."

Xiao Chengzhe's situation really frightened Zou Minchen. He now deeply regrets not having tied Qingyun to his side as soon as they met and eliminated any potential dangers around him.

Qingyun swallowed the last mouthful of porridge, calmly took the tissue Zou Minchen handed him and wiped his mouth, then leaned against the headboard and gently shook the bell on his ankle.

He wore a red string around his ankle, from which hung two silver bells, making his ankles appear as white as jade. What was even more annoying was that the bells rang unusually cheerfully at times, making them hard to ignore.

The red rope stretched all the way to the foot of the bed, but no one knew where the other end was tied.

Seeing the expression on Qingyun's face, Zou Minchen's heart skipped a beat. He immediately rushed forward and hugged Qingyun, saying, "You're not allowed to refuse!"

Qingyun slapped his head, then lifted his eyelids in annoyance: "Oh? Is that so? Try going crazy again?"
