Chapter 33 His Singing 9

We're sorry, your purchase ratio isn't high enough. You can fatten up your baby until the end of the world before coming back to check!

Qingyun never intended to stay in the Xiao family; she was merely using this as an excuse to leave.

He walked slowly down the road. He had left his car in the garage of the Xiao family's old house. It was neither far nor close to the place where the Xiao family held the banquet, but Qingyun did not plan to go back to retrieve the car.

Just as he was thinking about what kind of transportation to take, a car slowly drove up and stopped next to Qingyun.

The car window rolled down, and sure enough, it was Zou Minchen again.

"What? Didn't you go back?" Qingyun raised her chin at him, the red marks on her fair neck were quite eye-catching under the dim streetlights.

Zou Minchen coughed lightly and looked away.

He opened the car door and said, "I was worried about you, so I came back to check on you."

"Oh, you're late." Qingyun's voice was sarcastic, but she didn't hesitate as she stepped into his car.

After all, if someone is eager to come to us, we might as well take advantage of it.

Zou Minchen smiled wryly and apologized to him, "I was too reckless today, but I really couldn't help it, you understand?"

He wasn't joking; upon seeing Qingyun, he even felt as if control of his body had shifted into the young man's hands. Strangely, Zou Minchen, a man long accustomed to high positions, showed no aversion to this feeling.

He enjoyed it immensely.

Looking at the aloof yet slightly eccentric profile of the young man beside him, Zou Minchen parked the car on the side of the road and looked at Qingyun seriously, saying, "You said you don't like having people around you, so I removed them all."

"I respect all your decisions." He took Qingyun's hand, a hint of pleading appearing on his usually stern face. "But, please give me a chance to get to know you."

Qingyun chuckled softly; he knew perfectly well what Zou Minchen meant.

He turned to look at Zou Minchen, raised his chin, and his expression was seven parts arrogance and three parts provocation: "Oh?"

Zou Minchen gazed at him intently, his eyes filled with longing.

"Heh, let's see what you've got."

Most of the youthful, carefree words were blown away by the wind outside the car, leaving only a few unreal and insincere echoes inside, but Zou Minchen was overjoyed.

Just when Zou Minchen thought he could finally pursue Qingyun with all his might, he didn't expect that the next day Qingyun would lead Zhao Bowen onto a plane to the United States, leaving decisively and without any hesitation.

Thus, Zou's staff witnessed their boss going mad once again.

"Get out!" The cup grazed the department head's face and slammed against the door frame with a loud crash.

The department head immediately slunk out, exchanging a glance with the secretary outside the door, both still shaken.

A series of loud crashes and bangs erupted inside the room, followed by a man's suppressed, furious roar: "Damn it! Who the hell is this guy surnamed Zhao?!"

Zhao Bowen, who had just gotten off the plane, suddenly felt a jolt, as if he were being stared at by something incredible. He shrank his neck and sighed, "The cold air in the US is no joke."

Qingyun opened his phone and looked at the messages and missed calls popping up one after another. He smiled slyly.

Qingyun's earlier remark, "Let's see what you can do," wasn't a lie. He had already realized that Zou Minchen didn't have memories of the previous world. Why would Qingyun give him such an easy advantage, readily agreeing to his pursuit?

If Zou Minchen cannot win his heart again, it only means that the two are destined to be apart.

"Let's go." Qingyun put her phone in her pocket and said to Zhao Bowen beside her.

Time flies, and in the blink of an eye, three years have passed.

Over the past three years, a company called Ruixin Pharmaceuticals has emerged as a dark horse, rapidly expanding its territory in the biopharmaceutical field. The company has developed a new drug that has shown unexpected efficacy against cancers at all stages, from early to late levels.

Most importantly, this drug can specifically kill cancer cells without harming healthy cells in the body. Its introduction immediately shattered the myth that cancer was a terminal illness.

Given the drug's unique characteristics, the drug regulatory authority attached great importance to it and shortened the clinical trial period under strict control, allowing the drug to be launched on the market as soon as possible.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Ruixin Pharmaceutical launched a series of drugs for cancer prevention and oncogene repair, advancing biomedicine to a new stage.

After making breakthroughs in the field of cancer, Ruixin Pharmaceuticals has continued to focus on research at the gene level while also developing effective drugs for antibiotic-resistant bacteria, thus solving the terrifying crisis caused by antibiotic abuse.

With a constant stream of new drugs that have miraculous effects, Ruixin Pharmaceutical has quickly risen to become one of the world's top 500 companies.

Is that all you've got?

Three years later, Zhao Bowen, who had matured considerably, slammed his hand on the table and looked at Qingyun behind his desk with a look of utter disappointment.

Qingyun finished processing the documents in her hand without changing her expression, handed them to her secretary, and then glanced up at the furious Zhao Bowen.

"Are you done talking? You can leave now. I remember you should be very busy. The development plan for the next new drug has already been issued."

Zhao Bowen was so angry at his nonchalant attitude that he almost fell over. He walked around behind the desk and pointed at Qingyun's nose, saying, "You should think more long-term, you know?"

He tossed a stack of documents in his hand and said, "These achievements are enough to sweep up the Nobel Prizes for the next ten years. Damn it, can't you stop focusing on making money?"

"Besides, the Nobel Prize comes with a lot of money! A lot!"

Zhao Bowen almost shook Qingyun's shoulders and roared. He was no longer the naive young man he once was. After working with Qingyun for so many years, he could easily see that these seemingly miraculous ideas all came from Qingyun.
