Chapter 51 Reborn? Chi Bofei

My name is Chi Bofei, and I am a reborn person.

I come from Earth in 2050. Before my rebirth, my world was on the verge of collapse.

Since the resurgence of spiritual energy in 2000, the world has been undergoing tremendous changes every moment, and people have begun to awaken all kinds of supernatural abilities. I was also born in this era.

My parents have always praised me as a genius since I was a child. When I was 15, I naturally awakened a special spatial ability—teleportation.

The following years were peaceful. I was specially admitted to the university where my mother worked, and spent four of the most relaxed years of my life in peace.

After graduation, despite my family's objections, I chose to go to the front lines in Jingzhou to help the country expand its territory, eliminate alien beasts, and jointly protect our motherland.

And then, until that day came...

I vaguely remember that it was an ordinary day. My teammates and I had finished sorting out the day's gains and were excitedly heading to the front-line base. I also remember that the day's gains were quite good; our team killed a level 5 Golden Roar.

Because my special ability played a crucial role, the captain told me that I had made a great contribution today, and that when we go back and sell the Golden Roar's corpse, he would give me half of the contribution points.

Just as we were happily on our way back, disaster struck unexpectedly. The clear sky was instantly covered with dark clouds, strong winds rose, thunder roared, and it was as if a hole had been torn open in the sky, revealing an eerie red color.

Immediately afterwards, the entire sky was bathed in blood red, and soon it began to rain blood. Yes, blood rain. I have been fighting on the front lines for several years, so it is impossible for me not to be able to distinguish between blood and red water.

The flying beasts that used to hover in the sky all year round have long since disappeared.

The horde of strange beasts deep in the mountains was also restless, launching a frenzied attack on the front-line base. It was common knowledge that strange beasts disliked cities with reinforced concrete structures, and there had never been a large-scale attack on a base by a horde of beasts before.

The situation became extremely dangerous along the way. New strange beasts kept running wildly forward from the dense forests around the road, and the earth was shaking, which made our return journey even more difficult.

Fortunately, the beasts weren't interested in us and ignored our vehicle, as if some terrifying creature was chasing them.

Because I could teleport and was fast, the captain told me to go ahead and enter the city to report and scout the situation. But who could have imagined that these would be the last words the captain ever spoke to me? And that parting was forever; from then on, I never saw my captain and teammates again.

I chased after them as fast as I could, using teleportation to travel and even using spiritual energy crystals to replenish my spiritual energy, and finally arrived at the city before the monsters besieged it.

At this point, the base was completely locked, and no one was allowed to enter or leave. All the offensive weapons had been activated.

I can understand, really, because the beast tide behind us is already very close, and I can also teleport into the city myself.

Once inside the city, I discovered that the entire base was under the highest level of alert, and all civilians had been evacuated.

And I was put on the last evacuation vehicle by the soldiers who arrived.

During the retreat from the battlefield, they learned that all the front-line bases across the country were being frantically attacked by alien beasts, and some areas severely affected by the beast tide had already fallen. As more and more bad news came in, everyone's nerves became increasingly tense.

But the misfortune seemed to be far from over. In addition to the beast tide, the cave that had disappeared for decades suddenly reappeared, and this time the appearance of the cave brought annihilation to mankind!

This time, the cave heaven is no longer just another dimension. The researchers from the first year of spiritual energy were right. There is indeed another world inside the cave heaven, a world that can destroy the blue planet.

From that day on, countless invisible demons poured out of the cave. They had no physical form and were composed of a black mist with a pair of blood-red eyes on their heads.

They have no emotions and are not afraid of death. No one, whether human or beast, can escape once they have their sights on them. They are symbols of evil and embodiments of fear.

All physical attacks are ineffective against them; only elemental awakeners can harm them.

They can unfold their gaseous bodies, tightly wrap you up, and then slowly devour and absorb everything about you—your spiritual energy, your skin, your flesh and blood, and even your bones.

The only thing humans can do is sneak away while they are feeding.

Even if the country has special spiritual combat units, it's just a drop in the ocean; there are too many of them, and it seems like they can never be killed.

Immediately afterwards, all countries in the world fell, with less than one in a hundred people surviving, and all authorities and governments were disintegrated under the relentless onslaught of invisible demons.

Human civilization regressed by hundreds of years in an instant, and the world was finished. The remaining humans had no way to deal with the invisible demons. It has been proven that the awakened beings of the elemental system alone could not contend with the massive demon army.

The remaining survivors called the invisible demons that appeared in the cave the Heavenly Demons and regarded the cave as a great enemy of mankind. People with ambition formed an alliance, hoping that one day mankind could counterattack and enter the cave.

Some people also built underground shelters to escape the demons and preserve the last spark of humanity.

As for me, although I am not an elementalist, I have been barely surviving thanks to my teleportation ability.

I lived in such a fearful environment for 10 years, a full 10 years!

Ultimately, I was unfortunately targeted by the Heavenly Demon during a mission. Only after I was completely enveloped did I realize that my proud superpower was completely useless.

Countless celestial demons surged towards me from all directions, leaving me with absolutely no space or vision to dodge.

When the Heavenly Demon began to devour the spiritual energy covering my body, I had no choice but to fight back. I removed all the spiritual energy protection and could feel my skin and flesh being broken down and devoured. But I had no other choice but to gather all my spiritual energy and teleport away in any direction...

When I regained consciousness, I realized that I was still that 15-year-old boy.

At first, I thought it was just a dream, a very real dream. After I told my mom everything, she thought it was because I was about to become an adult and hadn't naturally awakened yet, and was under too much pressure. She even took me to get tested, and it turned out that there were no abnormalities.

It wasn't until the day I naturally awakened, and it was when I awakened the teleportation ability I had in my dream, that my mother took it seriously and reported my situation to the authorities.

Of course, to protect me, she just said that I had a dream, a dream that allowed me to foresee the future!
