Just then, a deafening roar came from afar, startling Wang Zheng, who was secretly making plans.
When he looked up, he saw that the other side of the island was covered with dark clouds and lightning, with countless bolts of lightning, hail and flames falling down, a scene resembling the end of the world.
Everyone panicked instantly, not knowing what had happened.
It wasn't until the instructors appeared and calmed everyone down that they learned that several school principals were sparring on the other side of the island.
This exchange of words startled Wang Zheng; he hoped that Old Man Chu hadn't been ambushed.
When Wang Zheng and Zong Zheng finished their competition, their training camp journey came to an end. The organizers, citing the reason that it was not advisable to stay in the military-restricted area for long, required all trainees to leave the island immediately.
Because the principals were still fighting over there, the instructors led them onto the ferry.
Wang Zheng cursed the organizers inwardly for being stingy, not even leaving him a last dinner.
They definitely can't bear to give away any more exotic beast ingredients to people to eat! Since we came down from Butterfly Island yesterday, there hasn't been any exotic beast meat or the spiritual vegetables that were previously available in the cafeteria!
While Wang Zheng was still cursing the organizers for being stingy, Chu Tianxing suddenly appeared in front of the three of them.
When Wang Zheng and the other two saw Chu Tianxing appear with a swollen face, they were all startled.
Wang Zheng thought back and realized that he hadn't seen Tang Yuying, the president of Southeast University, just now. He then understood the whole story.
He said with a joking smile, "Wow, Principal, what's gotten into you? In broad daylight, under the clear sky. Someone dares to attack you in a military stronghold! This is outrageous! I'll go report this to the organizers for you." He then made as if to leave.
Chu Tianxing grabbed Wang Zheng, "Hey, don't go, don't go! That bitch Tang Yuying can't stand to see me in the limelight. She conspired with several principals to trick me into a sparring match, but then they ganged up on me. Don't let my appearance fool you, those four were in even worse shape!"
At this point, Old Man Chu became quite proud.
Wang Zheng secretly admired him. His mother had said that Chu Tianxing was one of the top martial arts masters in the country, and it was very likely true. After all, if what he said was true, fighting four opponents alone, even if it was just a friendly spar, he would be lucky to survive, let alone suffer any minor injuries!
Several hours passed in the blink of an eye.
As the outline of the coastline became clearer, the group soon returned to the port of Shanghai. After Wang Zheng and the others disembarked, several acquaintances came over to say goodbye.
There was no need for everyone to return to Shanghai University to regroup; the training camp had already ended the moment they disembarked.
Moreover, each school had a teacher and principal leading the team, so the organizers were happy to save themselves the trouble and arranged for the team to disband right at the port.
Representatives from various schools were waiting at the port. Those from nearby areas like Jiangsu and Zhejiang, or southern Beijing, simply took a bus back to their schools. Those from farther away areas like Beijing, the Northwest, or Sichuan went to the airport or the high-speed rail station.
With Chu Tianxing accompanying them on the way back to Jingnan, the journey was uneventful. Wang Zheng also took the opportunity to ask the old man if he knew anything about Lu Youyou's background at Imperial University.
Old Man Chu didn't seem to care much, only saying that she was the daughter of the dean of the Superhuman Department at the Imperial University.
In universities, students are generally divided into four departments based on the type of superpower awakening.
They are elemental, superhuman, healing, and mental power types.
Because most Awakened Ones currently possess the Superhuman attribute, the Superhuman category has been further subdivided into many other departments based on different abilities.
Lu Youyou's father is the dean of the Superhuman Department at Imperial University.
The capital city is really my nemesis. First there was Duan Zhengkai from the Duan family, and now there's Lu Youyou from the Lu family. If I really go to Beijing University, I'll offend everyone.
Wang Zheng silently gave himself a thumbs up for choosing to stay in southern Beijing.
Several hours passed in the blink of an eye. When the familiar gates of Jingnan University came into view, it was already completely dark. After getting off the car, Chu Tianxing reminded Wang Zheng again to remember to get a medical check-up.
After Wang Zheng nodded in agreement, the group parted ways. Chu Xiaoman went back to school with Chu Tianxing and Qu Jianshuang, while Wu Huan had gotten off the bus earlier.
She arrived at school early to register because she was attending a training camp. Now that the training camp is over, and there are still ten days before the start of the semester, she transferred directly back to the harbor.
Wang Zheng took the subway home alone. Looking at the still peaceful scene at the entrance of the community, Wang Zheng smiled and greeted Uncle Zhao, the gatekeeper, before heading straight home.
The 20-day training camp finally came to an end, and Wang Zheng felt completely relaxed when he returned home.
Wang Shengrong was still busy in the kitchen. When he saw Wang Zheng return, he didn't ask him any questions. He just told Wang Zheng to rest a little longer and wait for Li Liang to come back so they could have dinner together.
Watching Wang Shengrong busy himself, although he didn't say anything, he would still turn around from time to time to secretly observe her.
Wang Zheng felt a pang of emotion. His father in his previous life was the same. Although he was strict with him, after Wang Zheng failed in his business after graduating from university, this man who had been serious all his life became as taciturn as he is now, not knowing how to express his feelings.
After Wang Zheng approached, he called out "Dad" and then gave his former soldier a tight hug, which made Wang Shengrong suddenly unsure how to interact with him.
Wang Shengrong seemed a little shy and casually dismissed Wang Zheng.
After Wang Zheng returned to his room, he had only been lying on the bed for a short while when Li Liang suddenly pushed open the door.
Li Liang rushed in, cupped Wang Zheng's head in her hands, and began to examine him closely, anxiously asking, "It's been over 20 days. Are you getting used to it? Are you eating well? Is it too hard? Are you injured?"
