Chapter 65: Touching Porcelain
He put on his clothes in no time, but Zhou Xubai's clothes were too big for him. They dangled like a piece of cloth hanging on a bamboo pole.
Not only were his clothes too big, but his pants were even more outrageous. Without a belt, his pants slipped down as soon as he stood up, revealing his fair, slender legs with beautiful lines.
Lin Xu lowered his eyes and sighed softly, his voice lazy and unhurried, with a hint of inexplicable meaning at the end: "Oh, it slid down."
Zhou Xubai turned around after hearing that and saw Lin Xu grabbing the hem of his clothes with one hand, his eyes slightly lowered, staring at the pants that had slipped to his instep. The casual and seductive look made Zhou Xubai unable to look away for a moment.
Lin Xu knew Zhou Xubai was looking at him, so he deliberately lifted his pants with his toes and said in a sticky voice, "I can't reach it, help me."
Zhou Xubai hesitated for a few seconds before squatting down to help him pull up his pants. Lin Xu stood while he squatted, and the moment he looked up, he met his brother's face.
Zhou Xubai's ears turned red, but he pretended to be calm as he helped him put on his pants and found his extra belt to fasten it for him.
It's just that the two of them were so close, a hint of ambiguity spread between them, as if to pull people into an unknown beauty.
Finally, Zhou Xubai was the first to break the silence. "Didn't you break a bone? Doesn't it hurt standing like this?"
It would have been fine if he hadn't said anything. But once he did, Lin Xu immediately started to cry out, "It hurts! How can it not hurt?"
As he said this, he deliberately threw himself heavily onto the sofa, and even shouted a few times to make Zhou Xubai believe him.
Zhou Xubai pursed his lips and was speechless. He could tell at a glance that Lin Xu was pretending. Maybe the fracture was a lie to him.
But it was a fact that he was hit, and since he only asked for his care for a few days, he turned a blind eye. The most important thing was to get rid of this big Buddha as soon as possible.
"If you need anything, I'll bring it back after get off work." Zhou Xubai asked as he walked to the door after packing up.
Lin Xu half-lay on the sofa and thought for a while, then pointed at his injured ankle and said, "Medicine for injuries caused by falls, and buy me a set of clothes in my size, and also..."
He paused for a moment, then smiled maliciously and said, "Buy me another pair of underwear, size M."
Zhou Xubai just said "Oh" lightly, then opened the door and went out.
After making sure Zhou Xubai had left, Lin Xu stood up and dragged his painful feet to the door of Su Yumian's room.
"Come, let me see what's there." He pushed the door open and went in. Su Yumian's room was very simple.
A bed, a desk, a wardrobe, and a bedside table with a few books and a photo frame.
"What? Nothing. It's like baby."
He walked to the bedside table and picked up the photo frame. The photo was of Su Yumian and his family of three.
There is nothing else besides this.
Lin Xu pursed his lips, walked out of Su Yumian's room, and then walked into Zhou Xubai's room. He jumped onto the bed, hugged the quilt and smelled it. It was full of Zhou Xubai's scent.
He was dozing off while hugging the quilt, but his sweet dream was disturbed by a sudden ring of the phone.
He dragged his aching foot to the sofa, took out his cell phone from the pocket of his pink jacket, and when he saw the word "Uncle" on the caller ID, his eyes gradually turned cold.
He just let the phone keep ringing and didn't answer it until the system prompted him to hang up.
After a while, a message popped up on WeChat, and the sender was still my uncle.
"Where is it?"
Then another message came: "Lin Xu, you'd better come back quickly before I find you."
Lin Xu glanced at the battery level in the upper right corner of his phone, and saw that there was only 10 percent left.
He sneered, turned his phone to silent mode, and stuffed it under the sofa cushion. After doing all this, he went back to Zhou Xubai's bed to sleep.
In the evening, Zhou Xubai went to the drugstore after get off work, bought some medicine, and then went to a lingerie store and bought two pairs of size M underwear.
It was exactly seven o'clock when I got home. It gets dark early in the winter, and there was no light in the house, so it was pitch black.
"Lin Xu?"
After he turned on the light, he saw that Lin Xu was not in the living room, so he walked to the door of his bedroom.
He saw Lin Xu lying on his bed with the quilt between him and sleeping soundly.
After putting the things he bought for Lin Xu on the table, he took off his apron and went into the kitchen.
Lin Xu was awakened by the sound of ping-pong balls. Rubbing her eyes, she came out of the bedroom and said lazily with a hint of coquettishness, "You're back?"
Zhou Xubai took the time to look back at him and continued to busy himself with cooking: "The things I bought for you are on the table."
"oh…"
Lin Xu walked to the table and opened the bag. Inside were the medicine, clothes and underwear that Zhou Xubai bought for him.
"Let's eat." Zhou Xubai put the prepared instant noodles on the table.
Lin Xu glanced at the food on the table and asked, "Is this all you're going to give to a patient like me?"
He picked up a strand of noodles with his fork, and the orange-yellow soup dripped back into the bowl.
The rising mist obscured the expression in Zhou Xubai's eyes. He handed him the empty bowl and said in a cold and distant tone, "I came back late and didn't buy any vegetables. You'll have to make do with this for now."
"If it were him, you wouldn't give in." Lin Xu pursed his lips and muttered softly.
"What did you say?" Zhou Xubai took out a tissue and wiped the soup dripping from the table.
"It's nothing, just instant noodles. It's better than having nothing to eat." Although Lin Xu was dissatisfied, there was no need to be hard on himself.
Seeing that he was quite used to it, Zhou Xubai picked up some for himself as well. While eating, he said, "I won't be back tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. If you're hungry, cook for yourself. If you can't, order takeout. Oh, where's your phone? Add me as a friend and I'll transfer some money to you."
Lin Xu paused while eating noodles and subconsciously asked, "Where are you going?"
Zhou Xubai glanced at him and asked, "Why are you asking this?"
"What are you talking about? I'm a patient. If you leave me alone at home, who will be responsible if something happens?"
Hearing this, Zhou Xubai put down his chopsticks, looked Lin Xu up and down, and said in a cold tone, "Since you can walk and move, it's okay to order takeout, right?"
"Then I don't care. You hit the person, so you have to take full responsibility." Lin Xu glanced at him and said with a pout, "Unless you tell me where you were going."
Zhou Xubai felt powerless, as if he had been scammed. He exhaled through his nose and said, "The students organized a camping party. I will be back at noon the day after tomorrow."
When Lin Xu heard about camping, he became interested and said, "Cool! I want to go too."
Zhou Xubai lost all patience as he listened to him speak more and more outrageously. "Lin Xu, I think you made a mistake."
He paused, held up a finger, and said, "First of all, we just met yesterday. There's no way I'm taking you to my student party."
"Secondly, we're not familiar with each other, so don't act like we've known each other for years. I agreed to let you stay because I hit you and I'm responsible, but that doesn't mean I have to report where I go."
He had seen people who were very friendly, but he had never seen someone like Lin Xu, who didn't treat himself as an outsider at all.
His few words silenced Lin Xu, who stared at the instant noodles in the bowl for a long time.
Zhou Xubai realized that he might have said something a bit harsh, so he softened his tone and said, "Give me your phone, I'll turn it over..."
"No need." Lin Xu interrupted him and shrugged casually, "I lost my phone and can't find it."
