When the agreed time arrived, the homeroom teacher started taking attendance. Once everyone was present, they boarded the bus and headed to the zoo, a journey of about ten minutes.
This neighboring city is quite famous for its animals and is considered a resort area. It's famous for many reasons, one of which is that it has the national treasure, the panda. It's also a relatively well-established tourist destination with various animals, amusement facilities, a water park, and a circus performance at 10 am. It's definitely a great place for family outings.
Upon entering the park, everyone boarded the arranged sightseeing train, where they could get up close and personal with the relatively docile herbivores.
Pei Nian, wearing a yellow hat, sat between Pei Wu and Shen Yu Nan. The hat was issued by the school, and each child received one.
The weather is nice today. The sun is high in the sky, warming you up, and there's not much wind. It's a perfect day for a day out.
After getting off the miniature train, everyone was free to do as they pleased.
Shen Yu Nan and the other two went to see the pandas first. The pandas were leisurely munching on bamboo, and they were extremely cute.
In the real world, Pei Wu rarely goes to crowded places. Her life is basically a straight line between the research institute and home. To outsiders, her life seems quite boring and dull, but she herself enjoys it.
"Have you ever seen a panda before?" Pei Wu asked.
Pei Nian shook his head and replied, "No."
Have you ever seen a giraffe?
Pei Nian shook his head again and said, "What about Mom?"
Pei Wu seemed to think for a moment before speaking, "I watched it when I was little, probably around Niannian's age."
At this moment, Pei Wu vaguely recalled childhood memories. In her memory, she was probably only about Pei Nian's age, holding her father's hand in one hand and her mother's hand in the other. The 'self' in her memory was also like Pei Nian... with a curious expression... and a smile on her face...
She was just as happy as Pei Nian was back then.
"Did your mother go to see it with your parents too?" Pei Nian asked again.
Pei Wu gave a vague "Mm".
"What about Dad? Did you see giant pandas with Mom and Dad when you were little?"
“No.” Shen Yu’nan looked away from the panda eating bamboo as he spoke. He patted Pei Nian’s head and continued, “This is Dad’s first time at the zoo. Before, I was very busy with life.”
Before meeting Pei Wu, Shen Yu Nan lived a very tiring life. He was always busy making a living, and he was so strapped for cash that even taking a break for a couple of days was a luxury, let alone having fun.
"Then it's the same if Dad watches it with me today."
Pei Wu was slightly stunned by Shen Yu Nan's words. She turned her head to look at Shen Yu Nan, who was smiling at Pei Nian.
While feeling sorry for him, Pei Wu fell into deep thought again because of what the other person said. She always felt that Shen Yu Nan, who also came from the real world, cared too much about the past of the game character. Although Pei Wu had the memories of the 'original owner', she had never been too involved in it. She could completely separate reality from the game setting. She could not overlap the memories of the 'original owner' with her own.
However, Shen Yu'nan was overly concerned with the character settings in the game and felt deeply empathetic towards them.
Shen Yu'nan felt Pei Wu's gaze on him and asked, "What's wrong?"
“…” Pei Wu shook her head without speaking, but subconsciously licked her lips.
"The circus performance is about to begin, let's go see it together."
Jiang Yue and her family were watching the giraffes not far away. She called out to Pei Nian loudly and waved her little hand.
"good!"
"Mom and Dad, let's go see the circus performance."
"Um."
The two families then set off to see the circus performance. After the performance, they had a picnic with their kindergarten classmates in an open space, and enjoyed free time until the afternoon.
