Chapter 200 Does he... like me?

Although Pei Wu was always unhappy with the online comments about her, she used to be completely clueless about 'men' and 'relationships between women and men'.

This is why she finally entered the game pod she designed despite the doubts of many gamers. Even though the game system was later unbound... the one she was initially bound to was a romance system that had absolutely no technical content.

After experiencing those years in the game world, looking back now... something's starting to feel off...

The way Jin Wei spoke, his expression, his actions... overlapped with the straightforward love words Shen Yu Nan had uttered... and when they overlapped, Pei Wu had a kind of dazed feeling. Images of Jin Wei's blushing cheeks and evasive eyes when he spoke to her as a teenager flashed through her mind... adding a touch of ambiguity to the situation.

'Does he...like me?'

Pei Wu's hand, which was stirring her coffee, suddenly paused. She stared blankly at the ripples in the cup, and soon began to doubt her own guess.

She acknowledged Jin Wei's excellence, but conversely, she didn't think she had anything that made him likable.

Pei Wu felt that she had been spending too much time in the research lab and found it extremely boring, and she didn't have the kind of personality that men would like.

Thinking of this, Pei Wu trembled as she lowered her eyelids. Her eyelashes were long and thick, and even without makeup, her superior complexion and outstanding appearance were hard to conceal.

She pursed her lips slightly, lowered her head even further, and her long hair slipped down her shoulders with the other person's movement.

She glanced sideways at Jin Wei's direction again, and the words "blind date" kept replaying in her mind, reminding her of what the staff member had just said...

'Actually, even if Jin Wei is Shen Yu Nan, perhaps he only treated those years with her as a game.'

"It was just a game anyway," she murmured softly, stirring her coffee a little too vigorously, causing some to spill out and the dark liquid to fall onto her pants.

Pei Wu pursed her lips even tighter, the bitterness of the coffee spreading across her tongue and finally filling her entire mouth.

Even Pei Wu herself didn't realize that she, who was originally focused on research, had someone else in her heart and would make wild guesses about the other person's feelings like a woman in love.

Her grip on the cup tightened little by little, and her face gradually darkened.

It wasn't until the phone on the table started vibrating that her scattered thoughts were pulled back.

Jin Wei kept glancing in Pei Wu's direction out of the corner of his eye. He noticed that Pei Wu was on the phone at that moment, and then he saw Pei Wu get up and walk towards the hotel entrance.

As he watched, his heart skipped a beat. He thought to himself, "This woman has no patience at all." His heart sank even lower, and his hand slipped, causing him to drop the cutlery into the plate.

Seeing this, Zhang Yanqing handed over a new set of tableware.

At this moment, Jin Wei lost interest in chatting with Zhang Yanqing across from him. He gave a few perfunctory answers and suggested ending this boring blind date.

"I'm sorry, I have a meeting I have to attend later, so I'll stop here for today."

“You…” Zhang Yanqing glanced subconsciously at the table Pei Wu had left, then quickly looked away and said to Jin Wei, “Is the food not to your liking? You didn’t eat much.”

"It's common to have a poor appetite in the summer."

Zhang Yanqing nodded, "Alright, since President Jin has other things to attend to, we'll see you next time."

"I've been very busy lately, so I probably won't have much time."

Zhang Yanqing clearly understood Jin Wei's implication, but she still smiled and said meaningfully, "Then...we'll talk about it later."

Just as the two were about to leave, they ran into Pei Wu, who was returning, in the hotel lobby.

The three people who bumped into each other stopped in their tracks.

Zhang Yanqing nodded to Pei Wu and asked, "Hasn't the person President Pei is waiting for arrived yet?"

Zhang Yanqing naturally knew 'Bei Shang' and 'Pei Wu', and had greeted Pei Wu when she first arrived.

Pei Wu simply smiled faintly and remained silent.

She couldn't very well say that she was waiting for someone, who was the blind date standing next to her right now.

They only asked, "Are you leaving?"

As Pei Wu said this, her gaze shifted from Zhang Yanqing's face to Jin Wei's.

Jin Wei met Pei Wu's gaze and slightly raised his chin.

"Well, I'll take my leave now. Let's get together again sometime," Zhang Yanqing replied.

"Okay." Pei Wu responded softly, watching Zhang Yanqing leave.

Jin Wei, who was a few steps behind Zhang Yanqing, left with her. After taking a few more steps, Jin Wei stopped and turned to look at Pei Wu as she returned to her seat.

"I'll take you back to the company," Zhang Yanqing said to Jin Wei.

"I have some things to attend to, Mr. Zhang, you may leave now."

Zhang Yanqing didn't press the matter, and after replying "okay," she left first.
