Chapter Three: A Strange Encounter

Chapter Three: A Strange Encounter

The cold wind in the stadium lashed against Meng Fanxi's face, but it was nothing compared to the chill in his heart.

After Jin Ziran's casual remark, Meng Fanxi had no choice but to leave the debut group and start fighting again with the new trainees, with no end in sight for their debut.

However, his age became a disadvantage, and he had to wait two years before debuting as an actor.

He will never have the chance to sing and dance on stage again.

After the limited-time group ended, Jin Ziran led the W1 group to debut under the name Month.

VIER disbanded shortly after their debut.

Meng Fanxi's withdrawal became meaningless and utterly ridiculous. Aside from a few words of comfort from Zhang Ruizheng and others from the original W1 team, no one within the company cared.

Some trainees would even secretly mock him for not being destined to be an idol.

...

Meng Fanxi was unwilling to recall those difficult fifteen years, but every time she met Month or Jin Ziran, those embarrassing memories would resurface.

"Phew," Meng Fanxi wiped his face, got up, and walked outside.

At the exit, there was a cute red-haired girl dressed as a Lolita, holding a glow stick and staring at Meng Fanxi's approaching figure with sparkling eyes.

Meng Fanxi felt her burning gaze and thought that she was probably a fan of Month and had something to say to him, the "annoying person" who was always hanging around Month.

It was probably some kind of diss that told him to stay away from Month. He wasn't going to be stupid enough to go and get yelled at. He nodded in acknowledgment and continued walking outside.

"Meng Fanxi!" A girl's sweet voice rang out, as if she wanted to call out to Meng Fanxi. But he only paused for a moment, then walked even faster.

Normally, if someone called him so enthusiastically, he would definitely stop and greet them. Fans, regardless of who they are, should be cherished. But today, after missing out on the Best Actor award and being "saved" by Month, he just wanted some peace and quiet.

"Meng Fanxi! That one, Meng Fanxi from W1!" The girl's voice seemed to be cast in Meng Fanxi's ears, making him freeze on the spot. He looked at the girl, wondering if she was a female trainee from his previous company.

"Hey, Meng Fanxi, don't even think about it. You don't know me, but I know you. I know everything about your past." The girl jogged up to catch up. She was all smiles and had a friendly demeanor that made it impossible to sense any malice from her.

Given Jin Ziran's precedent, Meng Fanxi wouldn't easily lower her guard. "May I ask who you are and what you need?"

"Don't be afraid, let's talk as we walk." The girl walked forward, and when she got ahead, she turned back to signal Meng Fanxi not to fall behind.

Meng Fanxi looked around and saw that this was the only exit, so he had no choice but to follow.

"I'll only say this once, so listen carefully." Seeing that Meng Fanxi didn't react, the girl smiled and continued, "I come from a faraway place. In my previous life, you saved me, and I promised to repay you after I recovered. But I never expected that after I recovered, you would have already been reincarnated here."

The girl sighed regretfully, "We always keep our promises. Even though you don't have memories of your past life, you and he are the same person, so I've come to repay you!" She pretended not to see Meng Fanxi's questioning gaze, instead looking at the indifferent Meng Fanxi with bright eyes, "Think about it quickly, what's your wish? I'll grant it for you, whether it's great wealth and good fortune, or a change of luck!"

Meng Fanxi turned to leave, taking out his phone to hail a taxi. How could he possibly believe such a fantastical thing? He'd rather leave sooner rather than later; it would be more real to dream about it at home.

The girl persisted, "I know you don't believe me, but let me tell you, last night was the closest you've ever come to winning the Best Actor award. Your acting career is going to get increasingly complicated. I really can't say any more!" Her words pierced Meng Fanxi's heart like a sharp sword.

Hasn't his life been complicated enough?

He turned around, stared into the girl's eyes, and tried his best to suppress the anger and grievances that were gathering in his heart.

He knew he shouldn't take his anger out on others because of his terrible life, so he tried to answer the girl calmly: "You can't fulfill my wish."

"I want to debut as part of a group."

"I want to stand on the stage of my dreams, can you do it?"

You can't.

Because this dream was shattered fifteen years ago.

Meng Fanxi's eyes reddened, and he turned and walked in the opposite direction. He thought to himself with a self-deprecating smile, "If the people at the company heard this, they would definitely laugh at me again."

In this cruel and realistic world, there are people who are over thirty years old and still hold onto unrealistic dreams.

He felt like a complete failure. His parents had already settled everything at home and gone on a world tour, and his younger sister had grown up, not only working hard in her career but also having a stable romantic relationship.

He was the only one who entered the industry at a young age, striving to debut as part of a group, but ended up in this situation.

Dreams, stage, group, teammates... none of these matter to me anymore.

Tomorrow, won't we still have to face the twists and turns of life?

The girl hesitated before saying, "Y-yes, I can send you back to the past, but in return, you'll have to start all over again and face an unknown future." Her voice echoed clearly in Meng Fanxi's ears, "Why don't you wish for great wealth and prosperity? At least I can guarantee you fame and fortune starting tomorrow!"

Meng Fanxi took a step forward, but an invisible wall suddenly appeared in front of him, forcing him to stop.

He then had to believe that perhaps the girl really did have some superpowers, or that he was just dreaming.

He thought about the girl's words carefully, then turned to her and said, "If I could do it all over again and it would still end the same way, then there's nothing to be afraid of in a life full of twists and turns. I made it all myself."

The girl was stunned. She looked at Meng Fanxi's profile and it was as if she saw the face of that person from her past life. Before he left, he also said in a serious tone, "I saved you not to take advantage of your kindness."

What an idiot!

The girl ran towards Meng Fanxi and pushed him hard from behind. Before Meng Fanxi could react, he stumbled and a white halo appeared in front of him. His body fell into the halo uncontrollably.

He heard a girl's voice in his ear: "You idiot, you're the same in both your lives. I haven't even answered you yet when you asked me who I was. I can only tell you that my nickname is Xin Xin, the Xin of wish."

"Goodbye, my karma is over." The girl's voice gradually faded away, and Meng Fanxi fell into a deep sleep.

*

It took Meng Fanxi two hours to believe that he had really gone back to the past.

When he opened his eyes, his mother, Lin Wei, came to call him for breakfast. Looking at Lin Wei's young face and the familiar furnishings of the old house, he abandoned his usual composure and was so excited that he almost screamed.

He's back; he's truly gone back to the past.

He locked himself in his room and carefully sorted through his memories.

He returned to the age of fifteen, when he had been training as a trainee at Baihe Company for almost a year.

This time coincides with the monthly break, when the trainees go home to rest. After the break, they will face the monthly end-of-month assessment.

With end-of-month assessments looming ahead, no trainee can truly relax and rest during their monthly break.

Meng Fanxi lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling, his thoughts in turmoil.

Now that he's back, how can he avoid being squeezed out of Team W1 by Jin Ziran two years later? The access pass in his backpack shows that he has already been assigned to Team W1.

By this time, Baihe Company was already a well-known entertainment company with a comprehensive and rigorous trainee system. If he applied to leave Team W1, it would be equivalent to giving up his chance to debut.

Suddenly, a name popped into Meng Fanxi's mind: Brother Li.

Brother Li's full name is Li Yingqiu, and he is one of the heads of trainee training. He has a handsome appearance and is said to have been a top-tier trainee before, but he still had no hope of debuting, so he switched careers to become a trainee coach.

After Meng Fanxi was kicked out of Team W1 by Jin Ziran, with the help of a few kind words from the company's higher-ups, Brother Li transferred him to the actor trainee group, putting him on the path of becoming an actor. However, without systematic formal training, relying solely on the company's training, becoming an actor was no easy feat. The difficulties that followed were numerous and could only be faced by Meng Fanxi on his own.

Finally, his hard work paid off, and he was nominated for Best Actor. However, his expression at the awards ceremony almost caused an accident, so he had to ask Brother Li for help again.

Although I haven't had much contact with Brother Li, in the current situation, even if I can't help, I can still find out some information and then make a plan.

I just don't know if I've become a familiar face to Brother Li yet.

Baihe Company had a large group chat for its trainees, and Brother Li, as a coach, was also in it. However, later, when Meng Fanxi and the others became the debut group, a new group was created, and the trainees were asked to leave the original group.

The coach in the debut group's group chat is not Li Yingqiu; he should have already been considered by the company as a potential candidate for promotion.

Unable to find Li Yingqiu's contact information on his phone, Meng Fanxi had to think of other methods.

He couldn't remember many things from fifteen years ago, but the day Lin Wei took him to Baihe Company for an interview was still as vivid in his memory as if it had just happened. He remembered that after passing the interview, Brother Li led them out of the interview room and to their respective parents. He handed each parent a business card, and Lin Wei even asked Brother Li about the origin of his name while holding the business card.

Meng Fanxi rushed to the living room. "Mom, do you remember when I was interviewing, our training coach, Li Yingqiu, gave you a business card?"

It was the weekend. Dad Meng Yuan went out for exercise, and younger sister Meng Fanyu went to her calligraphy and painting class. Lin Wei was engrossed in the hottest emotional drama at the moment, her eyes never leaving the TV. "You should keep it. Everything related to you is kept in the bottom drawer of the cabinet in your bedroom."

Meng Fanxi immediately ran to the bedroom as Lin Wei had instructed, opened a drawer, and saw a large envelope containing a stack of papers and receipts, with the business card likely inside.

He emptied the contents of the envelope and looked through them one by one. There were various receipts from school, contracts with companies, and interview notices from Baihe Company. And then…

Meng Fanxi stared in shock at the paper in his hand; it actually contained:

Interview invitation from Weir Company!
