Chapter 10: Old Man Mu's Last Will and Testament?

Old Man Mu's melodious voice instantly alerted Mu Liuyun. He glanced at the steaming instant noodles in front of him and immediately understood everything. He stretched out his arms to protect his lunch.

"Grandpa, what's wrong?"

"You know, Grandpa's health..."

To an outsider, Old Man Mu's earnest tone and hesitant expression would surely lead them to believe that he was about to make his final arrangements.

But Mu Liuyun just pursed her lips. This old man's acting skills were no worse than hers. In fact, it could be said that her ability to embark on the glorious path of a professional stunt double was largely due to the old man's excellent teaching.

So Mu Liuyun didn't let go of the instant noodles she was protecting; she just lowered her head slightly and squeezed out a few tears.

"It's alright, Grandpa. Tell me, you... you don't have many days left..."

Mu Liuyun's pitiful appearance was enough to bring tears to anyone's eyes and sadden anyone who saw it.

Old Man Mu gritted his teeth, decided to stop pretending, grabbed Mu Liuyun by the back of the neck, and pulled her aside.

"Old man, you have no sportsmanship, you ambushed a young man like me!"

"Hey kid, this is the last lesson I'll teach you: when there's a difference in strength, acting skills are useless!"

As he spoke, the old man picked up his chopsticks and began slurping down the noodles and slices of meat.

The old man's shameless behavior made Mu Liuyun grit her teeth in hatred.

What made Mu Liuyun even more upset was that she couldn't even handle a frail old man with Parkinson's disease, and her fate was easily seized by someone else.

In no time, the old man finished the whole bowl of instant noodles, even slurping up every last drop of the soup.

Looking at Mu Liuyun, who was still sulking to the side, the old man picked at the bits of meat stuck between his teeth with one hand and patted his belly with the other.

"What? Are you angry?"

"No, I'm more than happy to show my respect to Grandpa!"

Without realizing it, Mu Liuyun actually raised her voice and used the same tone she used when dealing with Liu Leyao.

Upon hearing this, Old Man Mu chuckled: "Little Yunzi, you have the potential to become a eunuch!"

"But you're such a handsome little eunuch, you might get chosen as a concubine by the emperor."

"Old Deng, I think you really don't know what a black hand is!"

As she spoke, Mu Liuyun blushed and reached out to grab the old man's neck.

"I give up, I give up! Our Xiaoyunzi is still the best!"

The old man patted Mu Liuyun's arm while sticking out his tongue and shouting.

"Old Deng, just you wait. When you die, I'll throw your ashes down the drain."

Old Man Mu smiled. He knew that if that day ever came, Xiao Yunzi would cry more heartbrokenly than anyone else.

Then he took out an envelope from his pocket, waved it in front of Mu Liuyun, and handed it to her.

"Old man, what's this? A suicide note!"

Mu Liuyun didn't open the envelope, but thinking about how the old man's health was getting worse, a strange panic welled up in her heart.

Did Grandpa know that Parkinson's was incurable, and in order to preserve his last dignity, did he intend to commit suicide?

Having lived two lives, Old Man Mu can be considered Mu Liuyun's only family. His feelings for Old Man Mu cannot be explained by the word "reluctance to part".

"Nonsense."

Old Man Mu, his face dark, tapped Mu Liuyun's forehead with his finger.

“My old friend’s granddaughter is returning to China and is holding a banquet at Shui Yi Lan. I’m not able to go because of my health. Could you go in my place and give her a gift for me?”

"That banquet will be filled with all sorts of delicacies. Isn't it worth going hungry for a meal so you can fill your stomach with some good stuff later?"

"Friends? Old man, you have friends?"

Mu Liuyun was somewhat shocked. Apart from the two years she spent with the Du family, Mu Liuyun had lived with the old man for eighteen years. Normally, let alone friends, the old man didn't even know anyone except for a few young ladies from the Heaven and Earth nightclub.

"Nonsense! How could I have raised such a grandson as you!"

Old Man Mu's face darkened again. He pointed to the envelope in Mu Liuyun's hand and said, "The gift is inside. Remember to call the number on the back of the envelope when you arrive, and they will send someone to pick you up."

"Alright, now you can set off. Don't disturb my rest!"

After saying that, the old man took the bowl and went into the kitchen.

Mu Liuyun still couldn't quite believe it. She shook the envelope in her hand, and sure enough, something inside was making a faint sound. There was also a phone number on the back of the envelope.

"Yeah, Old Deng may be unreliable, but he's never lied to me since we were kids."

Without much thought, Mu Liuyun took the envelope and walked down the gate.

"Grandpa, I'm leaving now. If you need anything, just give me a call."

"Okay, stop dawdling."

Old Mu blew on his beard, and when he heard the door close, he put down the bowl and chopsticks on the sink.

Forced to stay awake, he couldn't help but lean over the sink, panting heavily. Through the glass, he quietly watched Mu Liuyun run out of the apartment building.

Old Mu never worried about his health. After all, Parkinson's disease doesn't affect people as long as they have money. He only ever worried about one thing.

"God, please grant this child even a little bit of good luck."

...

The sun was stronger in the afternoon, but Mu Liuyun, who had taken off her wig, actually felt much cooler than in the morning.

This shows that women do indeed face more troubles than men in this world.

The only advantage is probably that skirts are cooler than shorts...

The moment the thought crossed her mind, Mu Liuyun quickly shook her head.

Habits are a terrible thing. Mu Liuyun, who used to despise women's clothing, is now praising the beauty of dresses.

That's not right, that's not right.

Fortunately, with half the number of customers, Muliuyun Women's Clothing can reduce its processing time significantly.

"Your son is calling! Your son is calling!"

Mu Liuyun was a little confused and answered the phone: "Brother Xiaoyu? What's up?"

Xiao Yu's real name is Shi Hengyu. He is Mu Liuyun's childhood friend. Their relationship is similar to that of Liu Leyao and Lin Xuelan. However, Shi Hengyu is not deaf. Apart from being a playboy, he has no other problems.

"Why are you asking? You haven't been to school for almost a month, and my homeroom teacher is about to yell at me to death!"

Mu Liuyun was taken aback. She calculated the time and realized that it had been a month since she had gone to school and seen Brother Xiaoyu.

"Aren't you home right now?"

"? No, I'm not here. How did you know?"

"I could tell from your panting. Hurry up, that's what your homeroom teacher said: get back to school within three days, or you can forget about attending classes this semester."

"Brother Xiaoyu, it's about to start, hurry up and get the armor up!"

"They're here! They're here!"

"Alright, that's all for now. I have other things to do. Yunzi, please remember that."

After saying that, Brother Xiaoyu hung up the phone.

Mu Liuyun scratched his head in frustration. To be honest, he had almost forgotten about going to school.

If Xiaoyu had called him three days ago, he might have simply dropped out of school.
