Chapter 105: Ultraman and his son are always trying to please Zhu Jie. ...

When Zhai Xiaowen heard that the company had received a large order for the Zhuyou Annual Meeting, she volunteered and her work enthusiasm increased significantly.

"Don't worry, boss. I will definitely hold a grand annual meeting for my son."

Luo Shu solemnly handed the case to her: "Event design is no more complicated than wedding design. There's still some time before the New Year, so take your time."

Zhai Xiaowen stood at attention, her fingertips resting on her forehead as if receiving the task. "I promise to complete the task assigned to me by the organization."

Luo Shu was amused by her serious look, and couldn't help but think of something, and hesitated again and again: "Um, Xiaowen..."

"What's up, sis?" Zhai Xiaowen, still immersed in joy, flipped through the plan. "Just let me know if you need anything."

Luo Shu hesitated for the first time, and at this moment, Fei Wei called from overseas.

The call was brief and not about work, so she asked Luo Shu to take some time to send her a sample as a return gift.

During lunch break, Luo Shu came to see Song Shijin at Fei Wei's request. The content of the recent phone call kept echoing in her ears: Song Shijin and his wife came to send Shen Qianfan off, and Fei Wei had to repay their kindness.

Stepping into the territory of Xiange Zhuang again, Luo Shu was filled with thoughts. Fang Qingzhuo really kept his word. There was no entanglement or contact between them. Except for seeing his name in the news from time to time, it was as if this person did not exist in her world at all.

The taxi that had been driving ahead also stopped by the store and got out to greet the mother and child. Luo Shu waited for a moment before getting out, carrying some maternity and baby supplies. She found Manager Sun and explained her purpose. Since they were all acquaintances, Manager Sun specially arranged a private room for Luo Shu to rest, saying that Song Shijin would be arriving shortly.

In the next room, Lin Su made tea and apologized: "Sorry, we are late."

The old lady opposite closed her eyes and didn't answer.

Lin Su had a first-rate psychological quality. She put down her teacup nonchalantly and flattered herself: "It's been many years since we last met. You are still so elegant, old lady."

The old lady slowly opened her eyes, paused fiddling with her bracelet, and observed her for a moment: "After all these years, you haven't changed at all, just as greedy."

Lin Su curled her lips, showing her thick skin to the end: "Thank you, old lady, for remembering me."

Then she tilted her head and said to her son, "Xiao Lang, call grandma quickly."

Little Fang Lang timidly glanced at the old lady sitting upright opposite him, not daring to look at her any longer. He lowered his head and called out "Grandma" reluctantly.

The old lady ignored him and went straight to the point: "Tell me, why did you ask me out today?"

Lin Su stroked the back of Xiao Lang's neck in a comforting manner: "I know the Fang family doesn't like me, but Xiao Lang is innocent. Now that the news of Mr. Fang's hospitalization has spread like wildfire, the child must see his father."

The old lady laughed disdainfully: "Five years ago, didn't I tell you that our Fang family only has one grandson, Fang Qingzhuo?"

Lin Su relaxed. "Xiao Lang was conceived when I was with Mr. Fang. It's a fact that everyone has witnessed. I didn't interfere, and I didn't destroy the family. Even netizens are on my side and speaking up for me. Why doesn't my child deserve the surname Fang?"

"I know very well whether I'm worthy of you or not." The old lady shot her a cold look and issued an ultimatum, "We have children here. I don't want to say anything too harsh. Please go back to where you came from."

"Old lady, let me tell you that several media outlets have contacted me for exclusive interview rights." Lin Su became increasingly reckless. "If I accidentally say something I shouldn't, like Mr. Fang's despicable love history."

Seeing that the old lady was unmoved, Lin Su continued, "For example, how did Mr. Fang's mortal enemy Shen Guanghan end up in the mental hospital? If I remember correctly, Yike has a pharmaceutical research company..."

The next second, there was a sharp sound of porcelain falling in the private room.

Luo Shu waited for Song Shijin for a long time. Seeing that it was almost time for work and she had to attend a management meeting in the afternoon, she went downstairs to explain the situation to Manager Sun. She happened to be bumped into by Lin Su who was passing by.

Luo Shu touched her hit arm in pain and was about to explain what happened, but unfortunately the perpetrator ran away without even looking at her.

Manager Sun was away, so Luo Shu thought she was unlucky and left the gift at the front desk. Before she had taken two steps, she stepped on something. Looking down, she saw an Ultraman pendant, quite new. It might have been dropped by the mother and son walking in front of her. Without a second thought, Luo Shu picked up the pendant and quickly chased after them: "Little boy, your Ultraman fell."

Lin Su listened to the phone call, and when Xiao Fanglang heard the word "Ultraman", he refused to move. Lin Su was furious and cursed at the other end of the phone: "You don't have a house, and you still want to see your son. I tell you, if you don't help me get rid of that Fang guy, you will never see Xiaolang again in your life."

Then, realizing she couldn't hold her son, she simply hung up the phone: "It's just a toy, I don't want it anymore."

But little Fang Lang refused to obey: "Mom, my Ultraman Cerro."

"Be good." Lin Su coaxed patiently, "Mom will buy you a new one next time."

"No, my dad bought it for me."

The last bit of good temper Lin Su had left was completely wiped out by the word "Dad": "Didn't I tell you that you don't have a dad? You don't have a dad. Why can't you remember? Huh?"

Her yell brought little Fang Lang to tears, and the anxiety he had been feeling for the past few days poured out: "Wuuuuuuuu, I have a daddy, I want my daddy, I want to see my daddy."

The crying immediately attracted more or less attention from the surroundings. Lin Su was so angry that she waved her hands: "Say it again, believe it or not..."

Seeing this, Luo Shu dusted off the pendant and hurriedly handed it over before tragedy struck. "Don't cry, little one. Ultraman went to fight a monster midway. My eyesight is not good. Can you help me see if it won?"

The distraction method really worked. Little Fang Lang stopped crying and sobbed as he checked the intact Ultraman and said, "Ultraman won."

Luo Shu patiently coaxed: "Since Ultraman didn't cry when fighting monsters, shouldn't we learn from him?"

Xiao Fanglang thought for two seconds, wiped the tears from his face and nodded.

Luo Shu smiled and asked, "Tell Auntie, what's your name?"

Xiao Fanglang answered subconsciously: "My name is Guo..."

He paused, looked at Lin Su, who was frowning, and suddenly remembered his mother's repeated warnings in the past few days. In order to see his father as soon as possible, he changed his words in time, "My name is Fang Lang."

Luo Shu didn't notice anything unusual and touched the short hair on the top of little Fang Lang's head: "Good boy, come with mommy."

Lin Su, who was standing by, did not appreciate Luo Shu's kindness at all. She even glanced at her as if she was meddling in other people's business, and then forcibly dragged her son away without caring whether he had wiped his tears or not.

Her kindness was taken for granted. Luo Shu watched the woman walk away with an expressionless face. An inexplicable sense of familiarity swept over her mind. Before she could fully remember where she had seen this face, two figures, one big and one small, got into a taxi and drove away.

In that phone call, she clearly heard "Mr. Fang" and the prefix "solve".

Luo Shu took a deep breath, thinking that she might have misheard. Just as she was about to take a taxi back to the company, a black car stopped steadily in front of her.

The rear window was rolled down, and it was an old lady whom I had met once, Fang Qingzhuo's grandmother.

The trees on both sides of the road are still green and swaying.

Sitting in the car again, Luo Shu was in a completely different mood. She first expressed her gratitude to the old lady: "This is our second meeting. Thank you for taking me on this special trip again."

The old lady looked at her kindly, as if she couldn't get enough of it. "It's not the second time."

Luo Shu: "What?"

The old lady said: "Five years ago, at Fresh Goose Farm."

After being reminded, Luo Shu remembered all the coughs Song Shijin made when he first asked her out: "That time behind the screen, it turned out to be yours."

The old lady smiled silently: "Yes, I heard from Shijin that Azhu has a girlfriend. As a grandmother, I have to come and see her."

"It's all over." Luo Shu pursed her lips.

The old lady slowly stopped laughing: "Are you still blaming him?"

Luo Shu didn't know how to answer. She blinked frequently and her nails scratched the fabric of her skirt. To be honest, it was not strange, but the emotional overlap was not something that could be explained in just a few words.

The old lady noticed these little actions and vaguely understood the answer: "It's only right to blame him. My grandson has been insecure since he was a child and isn't one to express himself actively. It's quite extreme to say. His way of getting attention is either by losing his temper or by withdrawing himself. He's a bit difficult to get along with. Thank you for your hard work."

The air around them was filled with silence. Luo Shu swallowed hard, her throat tightening as she finally asked the question that had been pent up in her heart: "Don't his parents care about him?"

This time, the old lady wouldn't do that. She lost herself in memories, filled with doubt. What were they doing when Fang Qingzhuo was beginning to remember? The family prospered, and she and the old man breathed a sigh of relief. Fang Jueshan was busy trying to win back Zhu Jie, while Zhu Jie was busy sulking with Fang Jueshan.

In the days that followed, the father and son were always trying to please Zhu Jie.

"I don't care much about small things."

Luo Shu was curious: "What kind of thing is considered a small matter?"

"When he was seven, he got into a fight and got scolded by his mother. He ran away from home and came to complain to me and his grandfather."

"Then what?" Luo Shu asked.

There was a brief silence followed by a sigh.

"Then, he stayed there quietly for a week and then went back on his own." The old lady said this with a serious expression on her face. The scene at that time suddenly flashed before her unfocused eyes. Seven-year-old Fang Qingzhuo waited in the old house for seven whole days but Fang Jueshan and Zhu Jie did not come to take him home. He was strong-willed and did not like to show his disappointment, so he sat at the dining table and ate his rice with tears in his eyes, at an age where he could not hold back his grievances, and his little back trembled with tears.

As the atmosphere became more tense, the old lady couldn't help but reflect on the heart-wrenching conversation she had a few days ago. Her grandson wasn't angry for no reason.

He calmed down and took Luo Shu's hand, placing it in his palm: "Alas, I was so busy listening to my chatter that I forgot to ask if you were feeling better."

"It's okay." Luo Shu felt the warmth wrapped around her palms and the backs of her hands. "By the way, thank you for the chicken soup. The thermos is still at my house. I'll bring it back to you someday."

The old lady was thinking this: "Then give me your contact information so we can meet up when we have time, okay?"
