"Okay, deal." Lin Yue agreed.
When doing business with officials, she doesn't want too much haggling. Within what she considers acceptable limits, she agrees directly; getting the goods is the most important thing.
Having come all this way today, I'm increasingly convinced that her promise might be broken.
As I said before, change it quickly, lest things get complicated.
“Alright, Miss Lin, go back and prepare your things. We'll exchange them in two days. I'll prepare the plane and fuel you requested. Come over at ten o'clock tomorrow morning, and I'll take you to fly it,” Secretary Chang said. After thinking for a moment, he asked, “Do you know how to fly it?”
He didn't want to be burdened with such a stain on his life at the end, so he was determined to keep his promise.
"I will," Cang Yu, who had only uttered one sentence since entering, suddenly replied.
Lin Yue nodded: "Yes, he can."
To be honest, she really didn't know how to fly a plane, but Cang Yu did. Although she hadn't expected it, she wasn't particularly surprised.
Now that she has it, even if she doesn't know how, she can learn slowly.
"Okay, as long as you can drive it away." As for where to drive it, he didn't care.
Lin Yue: "Secretary Chang, where should we set up the exchange location?"
"It's right in the square of the military garrison area, so it'll be convenient for us to load it onto your truck later."
“Yes, I trust Secretary Chang’s character.” Lin Yue looked directly at Secretary Chang and spoke with utmost seriousness.
After hearing Lin Yue's words, Secretary Chang felt even more that this girl knew how to speak.
Instead of directly questioning whether he would eat her food, she said she trusted his character. Anyone with a modicum of integrity would find it hard to disagree with such a statement!
"Miss Lin, please feel free to come."
"Okay! Secretary Chang, I'll go back and make preparations now." Lin Yue and Cang Yu stood up and said goodbye to Secretary Chang.
Secretary Chang did not respond, but simply nodded, signaling them to leave.
As the two left Secretary Chang's office, they ran into Chief Cao.
"Commander Cao!" the two shouted in unison.
"Hmm! Xiao Cang, Miss Lin, is there something you need?" Chief Cao asked expressionlessly.
It's one thing for Cang Yu to come in as a military advisor, but when did someone with no official position become allowed to just walk in and see Lao Chang?
"Back then, Secretary Chang came to me to save you, Chief, and by sheer luck, he saved you. He promised me three conditions. Now that I have what I want, I've come to Secretary Chang to fulfill my promise." Lin Yue stated her purpose frankly, without any intention of hiding it from others.
Chief Cao paused, feeling somewhat uncomfortable.
After that incident, he tried to contact Lin Yue several times, but she never came. Now, she's saying this in front of so many people. Is she deliberately trying to provoke him?
"Yes! Of course, my life is quite valuable." After saying that, Chief Cao went straight to Secretary Chang's office.
Lin Yue raised an eyebrow.
Previously, when Chief Cao was lying in bed, his face was kind and he looked like an ordinary, amiable old man. Coupled with what they said about him being conscientious and responsible, she felt that Chief Cao must be a good leader.
But now, this face just doesn't look quite right.
"Let's go!" Cang Yu pulled Lin Yue, who had stopped, "If there's anything you can't figure out, we can think about it when we get back."
"good!"
The two walked downstairs, and before they even left the administration hall, a quarrel suddenly broke out on the second floor, the sound coming from Secretary Chang's office.
"You may not take it seriously, but I can't let my lifelong integrity and commitment be ruined like this."
...
As the two left the administration hall, the sounds inside became muffled. Lin Yue and Cang Yu exchanged a glance, both understanding what the other was thinking.
The base commander seems to be seriously ill.
After leaving the administrative compound, the two did not go anywhere else and went straight back to the villa area.
When I got back, I saw several soldiers moving things in and out of the villa next door, and a large truck was parked in front of the door.
This means someone is moving in next door.
Moreover, the residents are not ordinary people; the fact that soldiers were dispatched to help move things suggests they hold high positions in the military.
Lin Yue glanced at the people coming and going, then looked away.
It's none of her business who lives there, but it's still necessary to find out about the residents.
Back home, Lin Yue asked, "Cang Yu, is some important figure coming from the military region at the base?"
I haven't heard of any important figures coming from other places these past two days.
"Yes, they arrived last night. I came back early and didn't see anyone. They didn't reveal who it was, so I didn't tell you when I got back. I was thinking of telling you after I figured it out," Cang Yu replied, closing the car door.
His power as a military advisor fluctuates greatly, and no one would specifically tell him that.
Tsk! You still need to have your own power base, otherwise even information will be delayed.
"Hmm! Never mind him, we'll figure it out eventually."
Or rather, it's okay not to figure it out.
The base leader is currently ill, and it's uncertain whether she can continue living here. Why bother with so much?
"Let's put all that aside for now. How do you plan to take out the things you exchanged with the base?" Cang Yu asked.
He had a plan, but he wanted to hear Lin Yue's thoughts first and respect her opinion.
"Cang Yu, do you think your two brothers are reliable?" Lin Yue asked, her eyes filled with doubt.
After all, Cang Yu had been betrayed by his brothers and died once before, so Lin Yue subconsciously felt that the people around Cang Yu might not be reliable.
“Cang Jun and Cang Jue can be trusted. Even if they die, they will never betray me,” Cang Yu replied.
