Chapter 40 The Fate of the Ninth Floor

After waiting a few more minutes, there was still no response from the two households on the ninth floor.

The people on the lower floors who heard them knocking but couldn't get up all laughed at the same time, but dared not come up to see what was going on.

No one answered the door, so Lin Yue was amused. She stopped knocking, took out insulated gloves, picked up a wire, and fiddled with it for thirty seconds until the first iron door lock was opened.

They pulled the iron gate open forcefully, and it slammed against the wall with a loud bang.

Cang Yu watched from behind, silently putting his gun away.

I never expected this little girl to have such a talent. I wonder how many more interesting things I can get out of her.

Lin Yue had no time to know what Cang Yu was thinking and went to open the second door without delay.

The second security door was equally easy to open; the lock was easily broken in no time, and even the small bolt was ineffective.

The door opened inwards, and Lin Yue kicked it open, making an even louder noise this time.

The door opened, revealing the generator placed at the elevator entrance. This was the generator she had left for Cang Yu when she left.

Lin Yue looked at the generator and became even happier.

Ha! Let's talk about it after she puts her things away.

Ignoring the cowardly turtle on the ninth floor, Lin Yue took her things and went upstairs.

Cang Yu looked at the generator without saying a word, only following Lin Yue upstairs with a cold and aloof aura.

Upon reaching the tenth floor, the door they had installed at the stairwell was opened, and the doors to their respective apartments were also open.

Lin Yue's house was completely emptied, and everything inside was taken, not even a single piece of paper was spared. Her home was now just an empty shell.

Her parents' room was destroyed, and the room they had carefully decorated for her was also ruined. Her face darkened instantly, and her eyes blazed with anger that was about to burst forth.

Cang Yu's room was also ransacked. His room where he stored ordinary supplies was emptied, while the room where he stored weapons had a special door that hadn't been pried open, leaving only a few shallow scratches.

Cang Yu's aura grew even colder. He opened the door, took two light machine guns, loaded them with bullets, and turned to go to Lin Yue's house.

Lin Yue stood at the doorway, radiating anger mixed with a touch of sadness.

"Lin Yue," Cang Yu called softly.

Lin Yue turned around, her bloodshot eyes fixed on the gun in his hand. She immediately stepped forward, snatched the gun from his hand, and strode out, heading straight down to the ninth floor.

Cang Yu followed closely behind, not intending to say much, but simply standing behind her to prevent anyone from attacking from behind.

Lin Yue originally thought that it was just a generator, so what if she took it? She opened their door herself, taught them a lesson, and whether they survived depended on their luck. She could just take the generator back. After all, she had collected a lot of things these past two days and was in a good mood.

But now, she doesn't want that anymore; all she wants now is for them to completely regret being alive.

Lin Yue raised the machine gun in her hand and fired "rat-a-tat-tat" at the lock of the house on the left. In a short while, the lock was smashed.

He kicked the door open and pointed the gun at the person inside.

The two families on the ninth floor are now just a couple; one family lost their child during the extreme cold, and the other had never had any children.

Just now, when they saw Lin Yue and the others enter the community, the two families had already gathered together. The four of them were waiting in the living room with kitchen knives in their hands. Even if they were to die, they would still try their best to fight back.

There's only one pistol on the tenth floor; it's not enough to shoot all four of them at once. They'll always manage to retaliate.

But now, seeing Lin Yue come in carrying a machine gun, the dark muzzle pointed at them, the few people who were originally relatively calm immediately started trembling like leaves.

This is not what they expected.

"Lin...Lin...Lin Yue, please let us go, since we all share the same surname! It's just that you haven't come back for a few days, and we thought you...no, we thought you went to live somewhere else and wouldn't come back, so we wanted to go up and check on you. We were so cold and hungry, we really didn't mean to." The speaker was the male head of the household, Lin Jiankang.

Lin Yue looked at the burned bed board and sheets on the ground, her face full of anger, and aimed a shot directly at his right hand holding the knife.

Lin Jiankang's knife fell to the ground, and screams echoed throughout the house.

"Ah...ah..." The two women screamed in surprise.

"Shut up!" Lin Yue's anger intensified at the noise. "We both have the surname Lin, so you ransacked my house. We both have the surname Lin, so you burned everything my parents left me. Having the same surname is great, isn't it? You don't have to hold back when you start a fight. So, what makes you think I'll let you off? Just because you're more shameless than me?"

Lin Yue fired another shot into his left leg.

She will move away in the future, but she will not leave behind any of the things in that house. They were left by her parents, and she will keep them forever.

But now, there's nothing left, and the whole house is filled with a cold atmosphere.

If she had known this would happen, she would never have gone out. If she hadn't gone out, her house wouldn't have been ransacked by these damned people.

Or perhaps it wasn't that she shouldn't have gone out, but rather that she should have killed several more people in the first place to scare them away and prevent them from provoking her.

The more she thought about it, the more gloomy she became.

Cang Yu couldn't help but frown and reached out to pat Lin Yue's shoulder: "Lin Yue, calm down!"

After saying that, he walked in front of Lin Yue, pressed down on her gun, and crippled the hands and feet of the four people opposite him.

"I want to do it myself!" Lin Yue shouted, staring at Cang Yu.

“Killing them directly would be too easy on them, Lin Yue. Let others torture them and slowly drive them to despair.” Cang Yu stared intently at Lin Yue.

Lin Yue can act at any time, but not today. If Lin Yue kills someone in this state, she will not only fail to calm down, but will also be trapped by her own darkness.

"Lin Yue, don't forget, you're a medical student, you should know how to control your emotions."

He had been an orphan since childhood and couldn't understand Lin Yue's emotions, but he suddenly felt a little sorry for this half-apprentice he hadn't known for long.

"Yueyue, you're studying medicine, you need to learn to control your emotions." Lin Yue suddenly recalled what her mother had said, and her eyes slowly cleared.

She took out a knife from her pocket, and Canglang and Xuelang went up to subdue Lin Jiankang and the other three. She forcibly cut out the tongues of the four of them, and then, in front of them, took out a large, rechargeable megaphone from her spatial storage.

He took a megaphone to the window, opened it, and shouted outside: "All the supplies on the tenth floor of the tenth building have been taken by the people on the ninth floor. Now, the tenth floor won't care if anyone tries to steal anything."

Lin Yue's shouts echoed through several buildings in the neighborhood. Those further away could not hear it clearly, but they could hear the word "supplies," and they all came out and gathered around, wanting to hear what was going on.

Lin Yue finally stopped after being called three times.

After glancing at the four despairing people, Lin Yue walked straight out and returned to the tenth floor.

Ten minutes later, a commotion broke out downstairs. People who heard it rushed to grab the supplies, without even asking which building it was.

Every time the tenth floor goes out, it brings back a large amount of supplies. Everyone is envious. Now they're all on the ninth floor. The tenth floor doesn't care. As long as they grab it, it's theirs. So hurry up and come.

That night, not even a scrap of cloth remained in the two apartments on the ninth floor; only bare walls remained in the two rooms.
