Chapter 280 The Seven Fairy Maidens and Guanyin Bodhisattva are like sisters

Murong Fu chuckled and lifted Tang Sanzang up.

He said, “Master Sanzang, your journey to the Western Paradise is fraught with danger, and you will certainly need many helpers. Although this monkey is unruly, you can discipline him by frequently using the Tightening-Headband Mantra.”

A glint of light flashed in Tang Sanzang's eyes, and he nodded emphatically: "Disciple understands!"

A while later.

Murong Fu removed the soundproof barrier.

Sun Wukong had regained his composure, but a deep sense of fear and resentment flashed in the depths of his eyes.

He immediately put on a fake smile and asked Murong Fu, "My esteemed immortal, why have I, Old Sun, never seen you before?"

Guanyin, along with the Seven Fairy Maidens and the Flower Fairy, slowly descended and came to their side:

Sun Wukong scratched his head and spoke again: "Aren't these the Seven Fairies? How did you end up with Guanyin?"

He was quite familiar with the Seven Fairies, having frequently interacted with them when he served as the local deity in the Peach Garden.

"snort!"

The fairy Hong'er snorted and said, "You can't expect anything good to come out of a dog's mouth. We are as close as sisters with Guanyin!"

As she spoke, Hong'er was still holding Guanyin Bodhisattva's arm.

Sun Wukong was dumbfounded. How could the Seven Fairy Maidens be as close as sisters with Guanyin Bodhisattva?

This is like Zhang Fei and Qin Qiong becoming sworn brothers—pure nonsense.

Because the two are not even in the same dimension.

"Wait... I think I've forgotten something?"

Sun Wukong frowned, scratched his head, and fidgeted with his ears and cheeks. Suddenly, he saw Murong Fu and remembered: "Heavenly Emperor, didn't you just say that you are Guanyin Bodhisattva's Daoist companion?"

Murong Fu said with a playful tone, "Monkey, is it strange? There are countless things in this world that you don't know."

Sun Wukong scratched his ear and chuckled, "But why have I never heard of your name, Your Majesty the Heavenly Emperor?"

Murong Fu sneered, "Everyone says 'a clever monkey,' and this monkey is smart enough to know who he can and can't mess with."

The seventh of the seven fairies, Xiao Zi, chimed in, "Our husband was recently honored by the Jade Emperor as the Supreme Ruler of Creation. You, a monkey, are trapped under the Five Elements Mountain, so naturally you wouldn't know."

"I see, I see."

Sun Wukong suddenly realized that this person must be a hermit.

I wonder how many hermits there are?

Murong Fu sneered, "Sun Wukong, just escort your master Tang Sanzang to the Western Paradise to retrieve the scriptures. The waters of the Three Realms are deep, and you, a mere monkey, cannot stir them up."

"Understood, I, Old Sun, understand." Sun Wukong clasped his hands together, repeatedly making a gesture of worship. "Quickly release me, Old Sun! I'll do whatever you want with me."

Murong Fu looked at Tang Sanzang and said, "Master Sanzang, I will pass on to you a body-refining technique that can help you strengthen your body. You may continue your journey to the West."

After saying that.

Murong Fu then flicked out a spark of inspiration, which entered Tang Sanzang's mind.

Tang Sanzang immediately mastered the supreme version of the Eighteen Subduing Dragon Palms.

This martial art is indeed a body-refining technique, but it combines some of the power of the Evil-Repelling Sword Technique and the Northern Darkness Divine Art.

As the name suggests, the deeper one goes, the weaker Tang Sanzang's little brother becomes. In the end, he might even be able to transform into a celestial being and become Tang Sanmei.

Its unique characteristic of the Northern Darkness Divine Art is that it allows him to absorb the primordial energy of heaven and earth, and he can grow stronger day by day by absorbing the essence of the sun and moon.

As long as he trains diligently, lifting a cauldron with one arm will not be a problem.

Guanyin Bodhisattva frowned, carefully sensed the technique, and determined that it was merely a body-refining exercise and would not produce magical power, so she said nothing.

Tang Sanzang suddenly felt a surge of energy, as if he could kill a bull with a single punch.

Seeing this, Sun Wukong urged, "Master, Master, quickly remove this inscription."

"Alright, please wait a moment."

Tang Sanzang had no doubts. He thanked Murong Fu and then went up to the Five Elements Mountain to remove the Buddha's invitation.

A sudden earthquake shook the ground.

Sun Wukong was overjoyed: "I, Old Sun, am coming out!"

However, another powerful force immediately pressed down, rendering him unable to move.

Guanyin Bodhisattva, holding a jade vase, spoke with a stern gaze: "You monkey, your master hasn't gone far yet, are you trying to bury him alive?"

Sun Wukong's eyes held a hint of malice, but he still patiently said, "It was my oversight, Bodhisattva. Please take my master away from here."

Once Tang Sanzang was several miles away, Sun Wukong once again unleashed his great magical power and turned the Five Elements Mountain upside down.

"Ah! Hey!"

Then, shouting loudly, he blasted the mountain into dust with his golden cudgel, leaving not even a trace.

"Hahaha!"

"I, Old Sun, am free!"

Sun Wukong laughed loudly and somersaulted several times in the sky.

But then, suddenly...

"Ouch!! It hurts! It hurts! It hurts!"

Sun Wukong was in excruciating pain and slammed his head against a mountain peak. The peak shattered, but the pain did not lessen in the slightest.

That's when I realized, it's a tight headband!

He quickly somersaulted back onto the Five Finger Mountain, landing in front of Tang Sanzang and kowtowing repeatedly: "Stop chanting! Master, stop chanting!"

Tang Sanzang then stopped casting the spell on the headband and looked at the monkey with satisfaction: "Wukong, now that you are under my tutelage, I will give you a Dharma name, let's call you Xingzhe (Pilgrim). What do you think?"

"The Pilgrim?" Sun Wukong scratched his head, inwardly scoffing at the Buddhist name, but nodded repeatedly with a smile: "From now on, I, Old Sun, will be called Sun the Pilgrim. Thank you, Master, for bestowing this name upon me."

Murong Fu watched with amusement. This monkey had grown up and learned to be patient.
