Chapter 26 The incident is over! Although the incident is over, ...
The heat was wiped away from the air, and only the increasingly cold air invaded unexpectedly. Before anyone could figure out how to keep warm, the cold had already swept in, until someone fell into the frozen cave in the middle of thousands of people and became a wonderful sculpture in the picture.
When the despairing fireworks created a scene, people remembered the discussions on forums about hoping for Mr. Freeze to appear and cool things down. But when disaster actually struck, they suddenly realized that some jokes really weren't funny, and that the underlying tone of happiness wasn't composed of countless kinds of sorrow and killing.
"Laila is in position at high altitude. The anomalous energy point has been marked. Red Hood, please check your system. There is a particularly obvious anomalous point near you."
This is not a simple departure of Mr. Freeze. Usually, it is his wife who can persuade Mr. Freeze to appear, but this time it seems unusual. The latest scientific research results, and after multiple overlaps based on Mr. Freeze's current movement trajectory, have failed to find a match for any of the information recorded in the Batcave's computers.
Barbara was analyzing more intelligence about Mr. Freeze's operation, while Enid had Lyra and Naya assist her. One of them would be high in the air and the other in the shadows, conducting reconnaissance for those on the field. They could effectively detect all magical elements that technology could not see, even though Mr. Freeze seemed to be a "product of technology" as well.
The unusual energy points she saw were not ordinary technology; they were caused by some magical factors. Fortunately, Red Hood seemed to know a bit about this. After receiving Enid's message, Red Hood quickly traveled there based on the coordinates she provided.
Batman had already gone to find Mr. Freeze, but unfortunately, by the time he arrived, Mr. Freeze had already lost most of his sanity. His final destination was a newly built place—well, this time not Wayne Enterprises', but someone else's office building, or more accurately, a renovation.
As Batman shot Mr. Freeze down, he scanned the entire office building and sent the images to the Batcave. Barbara frowned as she read the message, then called over Enid, who was sitting next to her. Enid moved closer to Barbara, and Barbara could almost smell her faint fragrance.
"What's wrong?"
"Do you know anything about this, Fia?"
Enid opened the message with some confusion, and when her gaze fell on the scanned information, her expression changed completely, and her face instantly turned ugly. Barbara noticed her expression and felt a sense of foreboding. This was the first time she had seen Enid in such a bad state. Even when facing Damian's combat class and the Storm Child's situation briefing, she had never been like this.
“This doesn’t seem like this world,” Enid paused, seemingly organizing her thoughts, but before she could finish, Batman’s message arrived first: “Druid, take out the ‘Report on Forbidden Buildings’ and check it.” This was from the pile of books they had been working on.
Enid quickly took out the book and turned to page 92. The pattern on the page did look very similar to this one, but Enid shook her head: "Not this one." After saying that, Enid found another book, "Banning 90," and on page 25, there was a pattern with the exact same structure.
"That's right, it really is this one. It's from 'Banning 90'. Although the first and second books have the same pattern structure, their construction order is different. Although they look very similar in the end, the results are different. The real purpose of this building is to seize excess power and then construct a new power core."
"So the soil erosion, the heat, and the appearance of the Severe Freeze are all for the construction of this energy core?"
The answer to the puzzle was finally revealed at this moment: Enid had projected the content and shared it with others. This was a segment that could be shared separately, as long as the correct building order wasn't exposed. Although this was the solution, there was no explanation on how to stop it.
"Which Storm Child is it this time?"
Jason felt a little nauseous at this guy; he'd already caused so much trouble before he was even alive. Enid thought carefully for a moment: "No, it's clearly not something the Storm Child would do, but the ultimate goal should be to resurrect him, because the Storm Child can accelerate his awakening once he obtains this energy core. Now that it's been successfully built, it can't be undone; the only option is... destruction."
Her originally gentle voice grew increasingly firm. Turning her head, she saw the encouraging and approving look in Barbara's eyes. Enid smiled slightly and continued speaking.
"B, your location is currently the closest. Mr. Freeze can no longer use his powers. The construction of the energy core is now basically complete, and I have sent the final location to the channel. There may be danger..."
The marked pattern was flashing, and the coordinates on it were closest to Robin, Nightwing, and Red Hood. Before the other two could speak, Damian spoke first, followed by Batman's deep voice in the channel, stopping Damian's rash action.
"It's closest to me, I'll destroy that thing."
"No, Robin..."
"Don't worry about B, I'll go with Robin and Red Hood."
Nightwing quickly spoke up. He and Red Hood were speeding towards that location. Clearly, they had arrived at the perfect spot. A crystal ball that looked like it contained countless thunderstorms was faintly visible in the air, and in the distance, there seemed to be flashing thunderstorms rapidly advancing towards them.
“We’ve arrived. What’s next?” Nightwing began. “Should I punch it?”
"Um...yes, just smash the strongest person directly, smash them before they fully manifest. Naya will absorb the excess power, don't worry. Be quick."
"Great, then you don't need to worry anymore."
Enid paused for a moment, and Barbara couldn't help but chuckle softly. "Nightwing is the strongest, so you don't need to worry about that." Hearing this, Enid felt relieved. To be honest, she had never seen just how exaggerated Dick's strength was. Meanwhile, on Nightwing's side, as he violently smashed the ball, it seemed as if something unseen was trying to stop him.
"I thought we arrived at the wrong time, but it looks like we arrived at just the right time?"
Jason sneered at the things and, along with Damian, charged towards the invisible entity from two different directions. Their fighting skills were quite excellent, blocking all those who tried to get close, allowing Nightwing to deal with the somewhat strange crystal ball with peace of mind.
Nightwing's exceptional strength slammed into the crystal ball again and again. He was not only strong but also incredibly fast and agile, with excellent dynamic vision. As a result, not a single punch missed its mark. Only the invisible objects and the silent wails that Enid could hear through her earpiece echoed from the other side.
All they could hear was the sound of the crystal glass shattering completely. After a sharp meow, the inaudible crying was swallowed up by the black cat. All they could see was the black cat, now blending into the night, opening its emerald green eyes, gently jumping onto Damian's head, and proudly raising its chin.
The shards of glass and the faint moonlight created a radiant reflection, blowing away the thunderstorm clouds that had completely disappeared, leaving only thin clouds and an excessively bright moon kissing each other.
The moon awoke, and they walked through the streets where the ice had melted, returning to the bat cave.
"Excellent, operation a perfect success." Dick had already taken off his Nightwing uniform and moved closer to Enid. Luckily, Brudhaven hadn't caused any more trouble tonight, so he could finally get some sleep. As he thought this, he looked down at Enid, who was looking at her computer. "What's wrong? Did you find something?"
"No, I was observing the path the storm took to disappear, trying to find the Storm Child... but obviously I couldn't find it. If only I had reinforced the seal a little better back then."
She was clearly disappointed. Enid felt that she hadn't done her job properly, which led to the Dark Storm ruining everything, but Bruce had a different opinion.
No, this is not your fault.
Hearing Bruce's words, Enid looked up in surprise, and Barbara, who was beside her, echoed her. She had also received some information that could be exposed, which was given to her by Enid through other means, as well as some information that Bruce had released.
“Yes, under normal circumstances, this altar-like structure shouldn’t be something from our side, so it’s clear that Dark Storm was premeditated,” Barbara said with a serious expression.
"So, he has helpers, right?"
Jason took off his red hood and tidied his hair, saying in a somewhat nonchalant tone, "Even the Joker has Harley Quinn and the Joker Gang, so how good is this Storm Child's brainwashing ability?" Enid paused for a moment, then shook her head and nodded.
"I have not heard any stories about his followers, but Lady Niaf wrote that suppressing the Sons of Storms is the eternal mission of the Archdruids."
Is it suppression, not annihilation?
Everyone believed they hadn't misheard. Dick asked directly, "Suppression? Well, that sounds gentle. I thought it would be annihilation." Enid sighed, somewhat bewildered, "Obviously, that's what I thought too, but it really is suppression. But it's fine, I don't really want to kill anyone."
“Womanly compassion.” Damian scoffed, not saying anything more, letting Naya continue to perch on his head, her tail swishing against his shoulder. “I think it’s fine, isn’t it?” Dick reached out and patted Enid’s head, agreeing with her non-killing theory.
“Don’t worry, with the information you provided and the help of these little guys, we’ll find the helper,” Dick continued.
"Yes, I know. Of course I trust you, and I'll help you too!"
"Heh, my dear, I think you should pass my test first."
Jason mocked her, and Enid, remembering the humiliations she'd suffered at his and Damian's hands, felt furious but could only slink away.
"I'll get through it... Hmph!"
"Yeah?"
Seeing Jason's disbelieving look, she almost exploded. Just then, Afu appeared as if by teleportation, with his usual expression on his face, and then said in a slightly sarcastic tone: "I thought the young masters and ladies, like the master, had evolved to lose their sleep ability, right?"
Suddenly, the noisy atmosphere quieted down, the volume dropped dramatically, and everyone looked at each other blankly before slumping back to their beds.
But before going to sleep, they all remembered what Enid had said about Niaf—that suppressing the Stormborn was the archdruid's eternal mission.
Bruce's non-killing principle is a personal one, not a forced order against others. He does not condone killing, but rather questions this kind of inherited command. They already have a preliminary understanding of the Stormborn's destructive power. If they were to fully awaken, and in Enid's words, it would not be a complete Stormborn, but rather a remnant consciousness.
Of course, this has nothing to do with the principle of not killing. It is a strange illusion that is spreading. If it were the complete Storm Child, would you be wondering whether Niaf was unwilling to kill him or unable to kill him?
The principles of naming Storm's Child are sometimes quite interesting, aren't they?

I have superhuman strength hhhhhh
My sister and I both agree with the no-killing principle. In fact, every single one of my posts follows this principle because I personally agree with Batman's no-killing principle. They rarely argue about it, and in fact, they almost never do. 233333
