Chapter 35. Leila is in trouble. Damian picks up the bird, and...
"Lyra?!"
The black harbinger, which usually roams Gotham and even occasionally wanders over Broodhaven, suddenly fell from the sky. Just then, Robin, who was flying on the rooftop, caught it with remarkable agility. He carefully placed Lyra in his arms, and his voice reached Batman's ears not far away.
"Robin, what happened?"
"Um... Layla suddenly fainted."
Damian found this very strange. He had more contact with Lyra than with the others, and he was certain that the bird's energy was far greater than Grayson's. Bruce's first reaction upon hearing the news was that he was worried something was wrong with Enid, so he immediately contacted her.
“Druid, the ferry bird has fainted. Robin will bring it back.”
"Okay, thank you for your help... Is Robin alright?"
"It's alright." Although Damian's voice had been altered because he was outside, it sounded very calm. Lyra sensed it was Damian almost the instant she landed, so she used her last bit of strength to change her weight and speed, ensuring that Damian was not impacted.
Even though Enid's voice was somewhat distorted on the channel, the excessive tremor was still audible. Her sleepiness vanished almost instantly. Unable to calm down, she hurried downstairs and waited patiently at the entrance to the Bat Cave where they would return.
Enid, who was anxiously pacing in place, suddenly felt a subtle weight on her shoulder. Turning her head, she met Afuci's gaze. He was gently draping a coat over her shoulders. Yes, because she was in such a hurry to come out, Enid hadn't even put on a coat, just a thin nightgown—she had just finished praying.
“Afu…”
“I believe in Mr. Leila, he will be alright.”
Her body trembled slightly. Aura seemed to sense something and stepped out of the void. The Batcave was quite large, and she lowered her head to nuzzle Enid's cheek. Aura radiated a cool moonlight, as if she were softly praising and praying.
"Yes, everything will be alright."
Alfred had prepared warm tea. After Enid suddenly felt unwell after drinking coffee last time, she banned coffee, and the variety of teas in the house increased. As a result, Enid became the only child in the family with a coffee ban. Actually, Barbara also loved coffee, but sometimes she wasn't there, so Enid, who spent the most time at home, was the one who was strictly watched over.
The orange tea I prepared this time combines the rich, sweet aroma of oranges with the smooth taste of black tea, creating a soothing and refreshing scent. The oranges were fresh, and Bruce Jason and Tim both helped pick them. Dick even got ambushed by an orange.
Barbara was much gentler, and Stephanie and Cassandra were also helping. Cassandra saw through Enid's little thoughts and even lent a hand. So Enid sat on Bruce's shoulders, which she had always dreamed of, while Damian went straight up the tree (actually, Enid asked Damian if he wanted to, but Damian refused), and threw the oranges into the tree like a basketball shot, very accurately.
Luckily, the basket was lined with soft cotton beforehand, otherwise the oranges would probably have perished.
Along with the warm scent of oranges came memories tinged with dappled sunlight and sweetness, which instantly eased her overly tense heartbeat.
Just then, the Batmobile that had been speeding towards them suddenly stopped, and then they all returned one by one. Damian rushed over anxiously and carefully took Lyra from his arms and placed her in front of Enid. Enid cautiously took his still soft body, and a green halo appeared on her hand.
The green magic circle took Lyra's body and held her firmly. Enid slowly closed her eyes, and spreading vines rushed up from the ground, twining around her arms and legs. White flowers bloomed along with her gentle words.
After a soft chant, the green light and vines dissipated, leaving only Lyra's previously closed eyes suddenly open. His sharp, terrified gaze softened in the next second. He spread his wings and landed on Olay, letting out a soft cry as if conveying some message.
Bruce watched them calmly until he saw the panic in Enid's emerald eyes, then he reached out and patted her on the shoulder.
"Calm down, Druid."
“I’m sorry, Father, I…” Enid pursed her lips. She hadn’t expected things to turn out this way so suddenly. Barbara and Stephanie also leaned over, seemingly finding more courage in their sister Enid. “The power of the Storm Child suddenly surged up somewhere. This might be a sign of awakening, but it disappeared quickly.”
"How could Laila be like this?"
"Because the power was absorbed by Lyra. The power of the Storm Child and the power of Lyra are similar to some extent, but the difference is that the power of the Storm Child is more violent. If Lyra hadn't absorbed it, the people in the vicinity would have suffered."
In order to prevent innocent people from leaving this world in such a situation without knowing why, Lyra absorbed it without thinking. However, the violent power almost made a mess of his body, but fortunately Damian caught him.
"coordinate."
"Damian, are you alright? I asked you just now, but I'm still worried about you."
Enid wasn't sure, because Lyra didn't remember either; it was an unconscious action she had taken while he was unconscious, so she had no recollection of it. She was worried that Damian might have been injured while catching Lyra, but Bruce shook his head. "Don't worry, Damian is fine. He's already been checked."
“He remembers me, so it’s alright.” Damian’s voice carried a hint of obvious smugness. “So, where are the coordinates?”
“I don’t mean to change the subject,” Enid stuck out her tongue. “Although Lyra has a good sense of direction, there are too many repetitive scenes in the city, so special markings are needed. The complete route map has been drawn now, and I’ll show it to you.”
Enid converted Lyra's description into a complete map and projected it into the air. Barbara quickly activated the Bat Computer, compared all the maps, and then combined Enid's map with the computer map. She also accurately marked the content that Enid had marked on the computer, making it exactly the same as the image she had projected.
"The outskirts of Brodhaven?" Barbara stated the details precisely, somewhat surprised as to why it was this place. She then transmitted the map and coordinates to Dick in Brodhaven. "Perhaps there's a map you need to look at. Be careful and it's best not to get too close. Monitor remotely."
"Don't worry, I will definitely not get close."
Dick also heard the conversation. He was still outside at the moment, but he had just dealt with those troublesome guys, so he took a detour and found a very high place where he could see the place at a glance. He took a few pictures and sent them back.
"No different from before."
"Okay, received."
The photos Dick sent were enlarged on the Bat computer, along with the video. There seemed to be nothing unusual at first glance, but Enid frowned, then noticed something amiss. "Wait, zoom in here." Barbara looked at where she was pointing and zoomed in many times. The special camera made the image extremely clear even when magnified.
"There might be a magic circle here, but it's probably gone, the kind that disappears after it's been used. But I can't be sure if this is the place. Maybe I should go check it out?"
After Enid expressed her thoughts, she glanced at Bruce and continued, "Please believe me, I'll be fine. I'll teleport to Dick's side, and he'll be watching me, right?"
Bruce looked into Enid's eyes and finally relented. After sending a message to Dick and receiving his reply, he nodded in agreement to let Enid go.
"The device maintains communication status, and the positioning device remains in place."
"Don't worry, I know! Also, wear your disguise properly!"
She nodded, quickly changed her appearance, greeted the others, and immediately teleported to Dick's side. Yes, Dick was still waiting for her in that place. It was very close by. As soon as she got there, she fell right into Dick's arms. When she met his white eyes, which were hidden by the mask, she blushed slightly and quickly jumped away.
"Okay, I'll head over now."
"Wait, at least come with me?"
Dick wasn't too disappointed about the awkward hug, but stared at her intently. Enid, however, refused. She didn't think Dick's past was a good thing. She crossed her arms in front of her chest, looking very serious.
"No, you stay here and watch me. If anything seems amiss, you can call for B and the others, including Seren."
Cielen suddenly appeared in this small, secluded space, making the already small place feel a bit cramped. Dick reached out and touched the antlers. "I guess he can pull you over here, or something?" He knew that Enid wasn't a child who spoke without reason, so it was obvious that Cielen's appearance here must have some significance.
“He can stabilize my teleportation fluctuations and move me to the Sacred Grove. Aura can appear beside Seren and me at any time.”
"Okay, be careful, okay?" Although Dick was worried about her, he didn't say anything more. Enid nodded vigorously, signaling Dick to turn on the video. Everything here would be transmitted back to the Batcave via high-tech video, and everyone would be watching her.
Enid mustered her courage and slowly walked toward that place. In the stench of the mud, she seemed to see a faint gray, flowing slowly in a field of vision invisible to ordinary people.
Just like a pulse.

Leila is a good girl too. Actually, for Leila, saving people was unnecessary; she should only be responsible for monitoring, caring for, and relaying information.
