Chapter 58 The Mini Fire Dragon Dick has...
"Fia, hmm, is this a dragon?"
As Dick went downstairs, he noticed the little dragon on Enid's head, which was not much bigger than his thumb. When it looked at him, it opened its mouth and tried to breathe fire to scare him. Then, as if it suddenly remembered where it was, it swallowed the fire, and only smoke came out of its mouth.
“Tine.” Enid called softly with a hint of helplessness, and the little fire dragon flew up with a pitiful look and landed in her palm. “His name is Tine, yes, that little fire dragon, he was only recently allowed to go out.”
“Flame, that’s a nice name.” In Celtic, Tyne means flame, and it’s a name that suits him well. Dick couldn’t resist going over to touch the smooth scales on his body, and then he saw the dragon deliberately pretend to be fierce, open its mouth wide, and bite his finger. It was a little itchy but didn’t break the skin.
“Maybe he needs something to eat?” Dick joked, teasingly pointing out the sucking sensation rather than biting, before withdrawing his fingers. Enid sighed, “He’s probably seeing you for the first time, so he wants you to know he’s the leader, um…”
As Enid spoke, she felt a little embarrassed, because the next second she saw the silly dragon accidentally fall down, and then it rubbed against Enid's palm with a pitiful look, like a little puppy.
"How does its flame power compare to a lighter?"
"Hmm, it might be a bit weak, but lighting a cigarette shouldn't be a problem."
Before Enid could make a move, Dick had already helped the little dragon up. It was quite fierce and ready to bite at any moment, but it was quickly trapped by the green light.
“I knew I shouldn’t have brought him out.” Enid said helplessly. After finishing her morning prayers, Enid had been doing her daily cleaning in the sacred forest and taking care of the little creatures. Halfway through, the little guy ran out and started causing trouble, so she had no choice but to bring him out. “My work isn’t finished yet.”
"Do you need my help?" Dick thought he was the only one with access permission and could probably help take care of the little guys. Enid's eyes lit up, and then she looked at the little thing, picked him up, and placed him between their lines of sight.
What about him?
"Let me think... maybe Little D can help. He'd be really happy."
This seemed like a good idea, and Enid agreed without hesitation, without considering the possibility that Damian might refuse, especially since Damian was on holiday and didn't have to go to school. Just as they were talking, Damian had finished his morning training and came to the kitchen. The first thing he saw when he entered was the little fire dragon flying in mid-air.
"I agree."
Damian already knew what they intended for him to do, and he thought it was an excellent idea. He nodded modestly to show his appreciation and then sat down in his seat.
What's his name?
"Tyan, well, he's a bit disobedient, or rather, he doesn't listen to anyone but me, and he's a bit mischievous, but you'll definitely be fine with Damian!"
Enid had tried very hard to communicate with Tyne and get him to listen, but Tyne only said that he wouldn't hurt them. However, whether or not they could gain his approval was up to the two-legged creatures themselves. Looking at Tyne looking down at the humans from above, coupled with his overly tiny figure, Enid couldn't help but chuckle as she expressed her meaning.
“Of course I will earn his respect.” Damian didn’t care about Xiaolong’s arrogance, which was normal, but he would prove it with his strength. Enid nodded in agreement, “I know that, Damian, you’ll definitely be fine. Very good, then this guy is yours.”
Tyne landed obediently in Enid's palm, watching as Enid placed him in front of Damian. He hesitated for a moment before stopping in front of Damian, then ate the plate in front of him in one bite. The white plate quickly shattered, leaving a small crack. He didn't swallow it but spat out the ceramic shards.
"Ah Fu, I'm so sorry..."
“No, Miss Fia, this is not your fault. It seems I should have prepared breakfast for our Mr. Dragon earlier.”
Alfred had already brought Damian's breakfast over, but seeing this ridiculous scene, Dick found it somewhat amusing to watch Tyne bite off the plate.
"It seems like he likes me a lot, since I didn't get any broken skin just now."
“Well… actually, no,” Enid blushed slightly, “My scent is more noticeable on you, so he didn’t dare to bite you.”
The more Enid talked, the more embarrassed she became. She didn't know how to express herself. Her fair face was flushed pink, probably from the petals kissed by the morning light. The transparent flower stems were tinged with a color that didn't belong to them after they stretched out, just like the kisses they exchanged after embracing in the corner countless times.
"Okay, okay, no more questions!" Enid pretended to be fierce, then glared at Dick, who raised his hands in surrender. "Okay, it's all my fault! So, how much work do you have left? I'm off today, although I might have to work overtime at any time."
"It'll be a while, maybe I can go home for lunch, that should be about right!" Enid thought for a moment. The workload ahead was actually quite heavy, but with Dick's help, it should be much easier, right?
By this time, Afu had already taken away the broken plate, replaced it with a new one, and prepared a separate breakfast for Tyne. Tyne tilted his head and looked at Afu, gently exhaling a small spark, before hiding himself next to the food and starting to eat.
“I’m delighted to see Miss Fia back for lunch, but perhaps before that, could you perhaps explain to the poor old butler what Mr. Tyne was doing just now?”
"Ah... he's saying thank you, you're an incredibly good two-legged creature, for which I bestow honor."
Enid couldn't help but laugh after she finished speaking, "I'm sorry, but he actually has no authority anymore. He's just a fire-breathing dragon now, not the Lord of Fire." Tyne used to be, but that's all in the past. After he ended up as Niaf's treasure, he was just a miniature fire dragon, unable to grow any bigger.
"So, Mr. Tyne won't recover, right?"
“Yes, no, but perhaps Father could give him a check-up. I haven’t checked him in a long time, so Father could share some of my work. Well, actually, I should be helping Father, but…” Enid paused, “Let Damian and Tim, Mr. Lucius, share the work.”
Enid refused to discuss business matters, but Dick, recalling his own early days in Brudhaven and the expression on his face when he finally saw his balance after trying to get a Nightwing car, smiled and said, "I agree with that. Lucius is indeed very capable."
"I think the master will be very happy to hear that Miss Fia has these feelings."
As for whether he could help Bruce with his work, Alfred knew Bruce well enough that he didn't care about that. But he would definitely appreciate his daughter's concern, and he would never forget to convey the feelings of a child who cared for her father.
"Thank you, Afu, but the main thing is that I really don't like those things at all... No, actually that's not what I meant to say. I just feel like I haven't been able to help my father much, because he seems very busy but I haven't been able to help him with anything."
It wasn't just because Wayne Enterprises was already quite busy; Bruce was also an advisor to the Justice League, and besides Gotham, there was the Justice League and many other things that needed him. However, Enid actually felt a little guilty, as she always seemed to be bothering her father and others, because she seemed to be the one with the most free time.
“TT, just take your share of the profits.” Damian paused, then stopped looking at her, his gaze fixed on the little dragon. After a while, he seemed to be instructing the dragon, but then he said something else, “Stupid dragon, if you bite the plate again, I’ll use your fire to roast the meat… The best help you can give is to stay put.”
"Bruce will be very happy. Don't worry about Fia. He will definitely tell you when he needs you. You are very capable, aren't you?"
Dick understood Enid's feelings and wasn't surprised. It was like how he often experienced unusual anxiety and would revisit and reconstruct his own experiences. It's just that Enid would sometimes express her worries, but he rarely did.
The windows in the room were some distance away, and the closest sky to her was Dick's eyes, a nearly transparent blue that made her momentarily dazed. Whether it was Alfred or Damian, they all conveyed the same meaning as Dick, and Enid understood, of course. She smiled and pursed her lips.
“I know, so I’ll leave the medical check-up to Damian, Afu, and Father, and also Cilan and the others. My brother and I will be going to get the other friends checked later, and we also have some work to do. Cilan and the others will be here soon.”
"Alright, I agree."
Damian didn't refute, and Afu just smiled. "No problem, Miss." Afu's voice was very gentle. He actually liked the little ones that Enid brought, especially Miss Aura.
"Very well, it seems my job isn't very easy. Hmm, do I need to prepare any special props?"
"Just get ready to cuddle with my animal friends."
Because Dick carries her scent, and a strong scent at that, they won't attack him but will approach him. In the eyes of some animals, he might be their food or their mate. Enid was too embarrassed to explain this clearly, and could only be thankful that they couldn't understand her, otherwise Enid felt she would explode.
However, she forgot one thing: Dick wasn't stupid. He had already guessed why, but considering his girlfriend's sudden shyness, Dick decided to pretend he didn't know.
