Chapter 89 Finally Back to School! Seven days of school...
After saying goodbye to her family and lover who had brought her to school, Enid felt a chill of oppression as she looked at her classmates whom she had never seen before. She began to miss the warmth of the fireplace and air conditioning at Wayne Manor, and the lingering aroma of orange tea.
“Enid Grady,” the teacher, dressed in elegant attire, looked at her with a smile, “this is our top student in the Witch Department. Please introduce yourself to everyone.”
She paused for a moment, wondering how she should introduce herself. Enid hadn't prepared, because she had never intended to build a good relationship with the people here. Call her cold or heartless if you will, but she had gradually begun to realize that she had no connection with this world. All she cared about was the world where her mother goddess resided, her family, and the place her lover cherished.
But the good manners she had been taught by her mother still made her stand up and give a gentle and polite smile.
“Enid Grady, her birth mother is the Moon Witch, Marie-Riddle Grady. She is of the Moon element and is skilled in potions.” Enid smiled reservedly, just as her mother had taught her years ago: she could only barely maintain the facade of everyone at the ball.
After the laughter, her excellent demeanor earned her everyone's approving gaze. Of course, their approval was not only because of her demeanor, but also because of her mother's life. Even after her death, she could still leave behind a legacy of approval in everyone's eyes. Enid did not know what her mother had done, but she always admired her mother.
After the childish self-introduction, she hadn't really listened, because she was utterly disgusted by the back-and-forth exchanges in interpersonal interactions. She didn't understand the sarcastic and sarcastic language exchanged in those verbal battles, nor did she understand the subtle glances. She only felt disgust.
If it were right after her mother's death, perhaps Enid could have learned something here, but now she doesn't need to. The miniature camera fooled all the professors and tutors who underestimated the absence of magical artifacts. There were no other excessive restrictions here, so the weak signal transmission on Lyra could send the image back with a high delay.
However, Enid usually transmitted the information only once every so often. She politely declined those who tried to chat with her and continued to immerse herself in the professor's class. Most of the content was taught by rote, and Enid even began to realize that some of the content was something she had already learned, or rather... the professor was teaching it incorrectly.
This discovery terrified Enid, but she managed to remain calm and conceal her findings.
The whole day had already made her tired, and she suddenly felt a little regretful. Perhaps going to human school with Damian would have been better than this. But even if she didn't go, her father had prepared a lot of online classes for her. This was to prevent her from being isolated from human society, because he was afraid that one day when he was gone, she could still live well.
After finishing her classes, Enid settled into the single dormitory room arranged by the school. Although it was an equally exquisite and luxurious bedroom, even surpassing that of Wayne Manor, Enid only felt a sense of dread.
"Actually, this tree would be better used to make incense than to make a table."
Her hand brushed across the solid wood table in front of her. The lacquered solid wood table exuded an overly serene fragrance, but it would become a bit cloying after a while. This was the most suitable wood for making perfumes. The fragrance after burning would be even lighter than it is now and not easy to get tired of. It's just that it is difficult to grow and it is not easy to grow to the age of becoming a table.
Of course, Enid noticed that there was no surveillance here while she was speaking, not even the surveillance equipment they disdained. Only then did Enid dare to speak and even take out the citrus-scented perfume and light it. These many recorded perfumery techniques were probably from books exchanged from the distant East by some ancestor, and they were very useful.
As Enid flipped through the correct texts, she looked at the books the school had given her and wrote down all the mistakes in her neat handwriting on paper. She continued until the entire book was finished, and as darkness fell, the online class video that had been playing in the background came to an end for the day.
She lived like this for seven days, but Enid felt as if seven years had passed.
But when the day to go home finally arrived, Enid felt a little scared... She walked out of the school slowly. Aura hid the horn on her forehead and pretended to be an ordinary white horse, standing at the school gate. Sitting on the horse was Dick, whose eyes sparkled with a light more captivating than a sapphire lake.
“Great, I told you I wouldn’t be late. Jason even said I was so late today.” Dick said in a light tone, then flipped down and walked to Enid.
He was taller than her, so he leaned forward slightly, one hand behind his back and the other outstretched, palm up, as if inviting her. Enid placed her hand on his without hesitation, and the next moment she was pulled onto Aura's body by Dick, speeding along the road in this other world where there were no traffic rules, and stopped in front of the gate.
The air still carried that same luxurious yet chilly scent, but now it held a hint of citrus sweetness. Enid knew immediately that this scent was coming from Dick's arms, where she was now nestled. It was the scent of a perfume she had created and given to Dick.
“Dick will never be late, I know.” Enid’s voice was soft, but he heard it.
“That’s great. Bruce, everyone and I were worried about you. Alfred has prepared your favorite food. I bet you’ve been missing it.”
Enid's eyes lit up. She wasn't very happy eating here. She couldn't eat the meat dishes, so she ate the food that Afu had prepared for her to cook. It was a pre-made meal that she had learned how to cook, and all she had to do was heat it up. But what she missed most was everyone at the table.
“I’ve missed it for a long time,” Enid paused, and Aura was in the portal between the two spaces. After she passed through, the horns on Aura’s head finally revealed their original form. “It seems Aura has been cooped up for a long time. Thank you for your hard work, Aura.”
“Aura and I didn’t have a hard time. Actually, it must have been harder for you to look at the correct answers, right?”
Dick was absolutely right. They felt something was off when they received the video clips Enid kept sending them. Now that they were home, and Enid was showing them the correct and incorrect parts she had written down, they realized something was wrong even more. Perhaps this wasn't an assessment but a real test.
After a pleasant meal, Enid soaked in the bathtub for a long time until she finally felt much more relaxed before changing into her pajamas to go find Bruce and the others.
"Father... what are you discussing?"
“Hmm, Fia, I’d like to know if these misconceptions are considered sacred texts in that world.”
Bruce's words were sharp and very true. Enid could only nod. She had spent a lot of time in the library, copying down a lot of content, including some books that she didn't have. But there were also errors in them. She corrected them all with her knowledge and wisdom before they were finally put into the library.
"There are several books in total that you haven't seen before."
“Five books, with an error rate of about 30%,” Enid calculated. “This week’s classes weren’t too intensive, and I also audited some of the upperclassmen’s classes. I think I know them all.”
She suddenly missed her mother, the days when her mother locked her up and forced her to study, and the days and nights she struggled to wake up and fall asleep in the library.
"Should I continue studying there?" Enid began to feel confused. The knowledge was no different from what she had learned in high school, only more in-depth, and it was basically all that she already knew.
“Mary Reed wasn’t making things up. I don’t think she sent you here just to study. Are there any forbidden areas in the school?”
Bruce didn't believe the woman was only trying to get him to study; he knew she was a rational madwoman. They hadn't been in love, but rather helping each other. Bruce even knew Mary Reed wasn't an ordinary person, but that wasn't the point. He started to worry, worried about Enid.
“Yes!” Enid’s mind was opened. The map she received after passing the entrance exam did not contain any information to analyze, but after arriving at the school, Enid finally discovered a place that was not shown on the map. “There is a strange secret realm. I guessed it, but this secret realm was left behind by the Witch of Oko. No one is allowed to enter.”
"The Witch of Oko and Princess Niaf are friends, I remember you said that, right?"
“Yes…” Enid wondered why Bruce had brought this up, but she answered affirmatively nonetheless.
“I think this secret place is the place Mary Reed wants you to go.”
All the puzzle pieces were solved, and along with the flawed knowledge, they were all put together. Bruce roughly understood the root of this world's corruption: the upper class's hoarding of their own knowledge, coupled with the blockade of knowledge that led to increasingly erroneous magical books, as well as crumbling cities and rotten hearts.
They wanted not only to obtain the Heart of Nature within Enid to awaken the life of all things, but also all the magic within that brain, which Bruce would absolutely not allow.
"Oh? Then I guess I'll have to wait until I graduate to go..." Enid suddenly felt a pang of pain at the thought of spending four years at that school. "But maybe I can look into how to get to the secret realm first! Father, you two must come with me then!"
“TT, of course I’ll go with you, you can’t even kill a chicken.” Damian said softly, his arms crossed.

Author's Note: Enen revealed some truths.
In Enid's eyes, this might just be a less-than-perfect fairy tale.
But in reality, this isn't a fairytale wonderland, but a world of conflict.
Don't worry, there's no plot about saving another world, and Batman won't get involved.
They just take and leave. Actually, although Mei Bao knows a lot, she's not very familiar with it. But I'll think about it and see. If I'm interested, I'll continue writing the later chapters; if not, I'll cut it off. (whispering) I've actually written this much...
I'm not tired of it, but it feels like there's too much of a single-player experience, sob sob. Single-player is a bit sad.
