Chapter 94 Moonlight on the Rooftop The moonlight on the rooftop is love...

It was clearly time to sleep, but Enid couldn't fall asleep.

There was a rustling sound beside my ear, was it a vengeful spirit or something else? It was the song of sirens coming from afar, drifting among the thin mist and clouds, and finally falling down and shattering.

She opened her eyes, vaguely remembering what had just happened; it felt like a dream. She rarely dreamed, so a sudden sense of unease washed over her, or perhaps it was she who had fallen in the dream? Enid swallowed hard, trying to calm herself.

She had almost finished her coursework at school, mastered the key points of teleportation, and even passed the certification exam a couple of days ago. She attended audits of the higher-level courses, and as she had expected, she suddenly felt, for some reason, that perhaps her dream was a reminder to reclaim what belonged to her as soon as possible.

As she pondered this, she pushed open the window and leaned against the balcony railing. Enid quietly gazed at the moon. The moon was half-hidden, creating a hazy, dreamlike atmosphere. In the stillness, it illuminated another blue shadow, which nimbly traversed mountains and obstacles, landing before her window.

"May I elope with you, Your Excellency Druid?"

“Of course, my dear Mr. Nightwing.”

Without a moment's hesitation, Enid placed her hand on it. Dick smiled, took her soft hand, pulled her into his arms, and wrapped his arms tightly around her waist. Using the momentum of the prop, they were suddenly on the rooftop. From there, they could see the flickering lights of the distant city and hear the sounds of bustling activity that seemed to echo in their ears.

"Or do you want to see the night in Brudhaven?"

"I'm fine with going anywhere, but actually I just want to be with you. I miss you."

She didn't hesitate to express her longing. Although Brudhaven wasn't far, Nightwing was always busy, and Saint Forest and the school couldn't always provide her with peace and quiet. Enid turned her head to look at Dick's lips, leaning in slightly, and he caught those faint traces of longing in her eyes, then embraced her.

“I miss you too,” Dick said, nuzzling her hair with his chin. “Can’t you sleep because something happened?”

Dick knew that Enid was a very stable and excellent sleeper, the one with the best sleep quality in the whole family, so this was the strangest and most worrying situation, and he couldn't help but be concerned.

“Hmm, I was thinking, I just had a dream…” Enid casually recounted the dream, “Maybe I should go somewhere sooner, take back what’s rightfully mine, and then stop going to school. Do you think Father would agree?”

Enid was a little worried. Their original plan was to study until the end of the semester, retrieve their belongings, and then graduate and leave. Her leaving so far ahead of schedule would disrupt their plans. Her main concern was that they also had jobs. Although there were time imprints in the secret realm and the flow rates on both sides were different, it wouldn't interfere with their work here.

Dick was somewhat amused and exasperated. He gently pinched Enid's cheek, then gave her a sweet kiss before offering a smile and explanation.

"Actually, Bruce is more than happy to, well... okay, don't say it was me, he's already found a university and is ready to use his connections to get you into this university. He'll be very happy if he knew."

Dick knew perfectly well that Bruce had made all the arrangements. Although he also knew that Enid might not agree, she might. But whether it was Bruce, himself, or the rest of the family, they all hoped that she would stay here and close that portal.

Although, no one had ever talked to her about this topic.

But at this moment, Enid suddenly understood. She knew her family's personalities all too well, as well as the potential dangers brought by the door. She pursed her lips and snuggled into Dick's arms, the sound beside her ear being his strong heartbeat and the pleasant, beautiful drumbeats.

"The significance of that door isn't just that it leads to any one world, but rather it leads to all imaginary spaces. After retrieving those things, I think I should be able to completely master it... I'm sorry, this door..."

She didn't know how to say it, because the door couldn't be closed, because its existence wasn't just for her studies, but had existed since ancient times, and was only qualified to protect it because she was a Grand Druid, but she hadn't actually done a very good job.

"It's alright, Fia. It doesn't necessarily need to be closed or destroyed. Since it exists, we'll find a way to protect it. This isn't just your job; it's something we've been doing all along. But is it possible that the door to that other world can be taken back?"

Upon hearing Dick's words, Enid looked up at him. At that moment, she was almost completely sitting on Dick's lap, and when she looked up, she met his excessively beautiful blue eyes.

"It is possible to close the path to a certain world. In reality, there is no door there. It is just that because people go there often, they have a stable path. But if they don't go there often, the path behind the door will become blank. There will only be a temporary path when they go there."

The road behind the two worlds symbolizes the friendship between Niaf and Oko, but Oko has left, and Niaf has also left. Perhaps the friendship should have ceased to exist long ago, just as neither world inherited Prince Oko's wisdom. Enid had already guessed this.

Princess Oko's physical body departed, and her will was not inherited, which means she has truly left.

Thinking about this, Enid felt a little sad. Her emotions always seemed to fluctuate a lot, but fortunately, her heartbeat was steady and gentle enough to make her feel less uncomfortable.

"No rush, we can discuss it at our leisure." He paused, then asked, "So, how long do you plan to go?"

Thoughts raced through her mind. Enid considered the approximate timing and the school's recent arrangements. Next week would be the school holiday, which would be the best time because there wouldn't be many people around. After Enid shared her thoughts, Dick gave her his approval.

"Great, we can start discussing the specific plans tomorrow. Don't worry, there won't be any problems."

He and Bruce had already guessed what might be inside the secret room. Considering her and Damian's entrance exams, it was highly likely that it contained a sophisticated anti-magic array. Enid had guessed this too, but she had to go, only she had no magic… well, but she could bring the little ones!

“Let’s not talk about this tonight,” she said, looking up at the still bright moon. “Although I really want to go on a date with you, aren’t you sleepy? I don’t mind dating you while I’m asleep.”

Actually, Enid was a little embarrassed, or rather, she could tell that Dick seemed to have not slept well. She reached out and touched his face. Her fingertips were slightly cool, probably from the wind. Dick grabbed her hand and hugged her even closer to him, probably to transfer his body heat to her.

“Of course I’m not sleepy…” Dick had barely finished speaking when Enid glared at him, leaving him no choice but to surrender. “If she can’t tell, maybe… I am a little sleepy. May I request that the great Archdruid accompany me?”

His body temperature was high, slightly higher than Enid's, so his hands were noticeably warm, making his embrace even warmer. Hearing Dick's words, she couldn't help but feel a little moved and softly hummed in agreement, her voice very faint but completely caught.

Dick happily picked Enid up in his arms and carried her back to the bedroom from the rooftop. Thanks to Alfred, the bedroom here was much tidier than the one in Brudhaven. The room was filled with all sorts of little trinkets that Enid had prepared for him, all from Saint Forest. When Enid jumped down from his arms, the first thing she saw was that acorn.

“You found out…” Dick saw her eyes and smiled gently. “This was a gift from Saint Lin that I found in my pocket.”

It was the presence of this acorn that made him realize that what had happened during that time was not purely a dream or a hallucination. In fact, he initially wanted to make this little thing into a necklace, but in the end he gave up and kept it as a treasure in this sealed glass case.

"That...that's what I put in there," Enid said, a little embarrassed.

Dick hadn't expected this, or rather, he'd guessed it, but he didn't know it was like this. He didn't hide his surprise; instead, he pulled Enid back into his arms, wrapped his arms around her waist, and rested his head on her neck. The ends of his short, wispy hair brushed against her neck, making it a little ticklish.

"Can you tell me why?"

"Because... if possible, well, I don't know either, but I just hope that maybe, the acorn can turn into an oak tree, and I can find you, whether to apologize or something, I don't know, after all, I didn't know what love really was back then."

She couldn't deny that she was irrational at the time, or rather, that she acted strangely, kicking Dick out of Saint-Lin and saying they were breaking up—well, that was a bit much.

“No need to apologize, I’m actually very happy.” Dick had never blamed Enid for the breakup; he could even understand her behavior back then. So he simply kissed her cheek lightly. “Now, do you know what love is?”

She reached out and covered Dick's hand on her waist. Turning her head, she could see Dick's head on her shoulder. She could just kiss his forehead. This kiss was a little trick that made Dick release her, lift her up, and hold her in his arms, looking into her eyes.

Enid's voice was soft yet powerful, just like her eyes—beautiful and clear, just as bright as the view outside the window at that moment.

"I know, I see your eyes, and I see the sea and the sky, and I know that I love you."

Author's Note: Hehehe, I just love kisses.

By the way, it was just for sleeping, so the lights weren't turned off!

If we're going to turn off the lights, it'll have to be after marriage at least. Actually, we're not really at that level yet, you know what I mean?

That's about it. I'll start writing the last chapter in the chapter after that.

After much consideration, I felt that the other dungeons were unnecessary, mainly because my daughter's learning progress was ahead of schedule (nods).
