Chapter 15: Deepening Feelings - Dick is flirting with girls, sis...

As the morning light broke through the overlapping clouds, it took root in the already shimmering soil. Accompanied by the mesmerizing glow of dawn, she saw a captivating blue gem winking at her from within the clouds. It was Dick Grayson sitting on her windowsill, a small bird with a crumb of bread perched in its hand.

Hey, good morning.

He waited until Enid finished her morning prayers before knocking on her window. He looked remarkably similar to the little blue bird in her hand, making Enid feel a little hallucinatory, and she couldn't help but smile.

"Good morning, brother. And, is that your soul in your hand?"

"Hmm, you've found out. Our great Archdruid, are you going to save me? For example, put my soul back in?"

Enid reached out her hand. The little bird glanced longingly at the delicious bread in his palm, then resolutely flew to her palm, nuzzling her with its soft feathers and chirping sweetly. Enid stroked its head with the pad of her index finger, then hesitated for a moment before slowly walking forward. Meeting Dick's encouraging gaze, she tapped his forehead with the same pad of her index finger.

"Hmm... Now that your soul has returned to the little bird's body, how are you feeling?"

“Excellent, your medical skills are superb, Doctor. In return, perhaps I can treat you to dinner? Or, how about I do you the honor of watching the sunset tonight?”

Without hesitation, Enid met his face, which was as captivating as the morning light outside the window, and his excessively clear blue eyes. She was already slightly unable to resist and could only nod in agreement. As soon as she agreed, she noticed the undisguised triumph in Dick's eyes. She regretted it a little and felt that she had been tricked.

Can I back out?

"Of course—no way! Great, it's decided then. I'll message you later? Maybe you can try riding my new motorcycle, it's super cool."

"Okay, I'll just consider it an opportunity to see something new."

Before her were two people struggling to find excuses. Actually, Shangdike hadn't bought a new motorcycle, but he'd washed it yesterday and it looked brand new, so maybe it was acceptable, right? As for Enid, she comforted herself by thinking that maybe she could see a motorcycle and the sunset… maybe that wouldn't be so bad? She looked up uncertainly, her eyes meeting a pool of clear blue water.

Meanwhile, Leila, who had been looking out the window for a long time, seemed to have a sharp look in her eyes.

It looked at them, then flew away to the living room, found Damian eating, and stared at him intently. Damian looked up and glanced at Lyra.

"Go ahead and say it, I can agree to it."

Lyra leaned closer, having succeeded in her plan. After conveying her meaning, Damian understood that Lyra wanted his help. "So, you want me to interrupt Grayson and Enid's date?" Lyra nodded. Of course, he didn't dislike Dick, but as the eldest, it was permissible for him to have a little bit of his own whims, right?

“Mr. Lyra, do you disagree with the two of them?” Alfred had prepared breakfast for Lyra. Lyra flew over shyly and nuzzled his cheek, then approached Damian again and conveyed her meaning to him through magic. Damian looked at Lyra, seemingly lost in thought.

“No, he just wants to cause Grayson some trouble and delay their reconciliation.” Damian certainly wasn’t interested in their love story, but he didn’t mind helping Lyra out. “I agreed.”

At that moment, Enid and Dick, who had just come downstairs, missed the last words, but she noticed the closeness between Lyra and Damian. She was slightly surprised, but also smiled happily. "That's great. It seems Lyra likes you a lot, Damian. Lyra is a very unique bird. He has even learned magic of his own kind, which allows him to translate his language into the other person's language. Hmm... the magic I used on you in the mall last time was also this type of magic."

"This sounds useful, so can I use it to learn other languages?"

"I'm sorry, no. Languages are something you have to learn on your own; it's probably a kind of magic for conveying your inner thoughts. By the way, Damian, are you going to school today? Can I take you?"

"TT, no need."

Damian finished eating and calmly declined Enid's seemingly misplaced offer of kindness, believing he didn't need it. Enid was slightly disappointed and sat down at the table to enjoy the breakfast prepared by Afu. Her meat was special; it was brought to her doorstep by small animals after they hunted every morning, and then processed by Afu. Apart from this, she could not eat any other meat.

"Young Master Damian won't be leaving for a while. If Miss Fia wants to go, we can take the helicopter together later."

Afu saw through Enid and cheerfully announced Damian's school arrangements. Enid's eyes lit up. She glanced at Damian, who didn't say anything, which was probably taken as tacit agreement. Dick, who felt ignored, looked at Enid with some distress and said half-jokingly.

"I really envy Little D. It seems I won't be able to enjoy the perk of accompanying someone to work. Little Fia, don't forget what you promised me? I'll come pick you up then."

"Eh... I'm just a little curious about schools in the human world... um."

Dick ate quickly; he had to rush to work in Brudhaven. If all went well, he could leave work a little earlier today to go see Enid at sunset. He had already booked a meeting place, a movie, and other places, if all went well.

"Hey, it's okay. I don't mind if you can pick me up from get off work. Hmm, see you then?"

See you then.

Enid admitted she couldn't quite refuse outright. She was also slightly looking forward to the sunset. After waving goodbye to Dick, she wondered if Brudhaven was very far from here. She didn't ask, and therefore no one answered. After Dick left, Enid quickly finished her breakfast. Damian didn't leave either, but secretly tried to take Annie with him. Alfred pretended not to see and waved goodbye to Enid as he watched them board the helicopter.

"Humans are amazing. They can even fly like that! I have a similar flying device, but it's magic-powered. If you'd like, I can take you for a ride next time. It was my graduation project in my basic alchemy class."

"An enlarged version of a magic broom?"

"Of course not! It's a giant paper airplane, and it might be a bit cold, since I didn't install a house, but I did install legs, so it's very stable when it lands."

Enid took out her paper airplane, a very common paper airplane shape, but with two "legs" suddenly appearing at the bottom. Well, perhaps calling it legs is a bit of an exaggeration; Damian thought it looked more like chicken feet. Enid was a little embarrassed. "This is a smaller version, but I can't enlarge it now. I promised my father I wouldn't take out magical items without permission; I have to report to him. If it's okay, can I ride with him to pick you up after school?"

"Can."

Although he seemed to dislike the guy, Damian was actually a little interested in it. He even secretly wondered which was faster, the "paper airplane" or Jonathan, and planned to let them try it out later. Of course, he wouldn't tell Enid.

The helicopter was fast, and he soon arrived at the metropolis where he studied. When he got off, Enid saw a little boy with blue eyes and fair skin waving at Damian. The boy saw her too, greeted her cheerfully, and introduced himself. Enid also introduced herself naturally. Then, looking at the growing crowd, she shrank back a little.

"Okay... I'll head back now. See you after school!"

Enid smiled brightly at them, then quickly boarded the helicopter and drove off. As she left, she suddenly felt something watching her. She turned her head in confusion but saw nothing. She waved goodbye to Damian, and as she boarded the helicopter, Enid's phone suddenly rang.

Damian: 4 p.m.

Enid: Received! I'll be there on time. (Naya being cute.jpg)

At this moment, Damian chuckled softly, but he remembered Enid's actions. He turned to Jonathan and asked, "Did you see who it was?" Having experienced the incident at the mall, Damian was more suspicious than others that someone was about to make a move. Jonathan nodded; he had also noticed someone watching them and gestured to indicate who it was.

However, with class about to start, they couldn't just leave openly. Although Damian had a strong desire to skip school, the other person happened to be teaching the class next door, so Damian had no choice but to go into the classroom. But all morning, Damian didn't see that person come over, and kept trying to find opportunities to watch them from other places.

Damian frowned, finally seizing an opportunity during a break between classes. He crossed his arms and walked over. Jonathan followed him somewhat nervously. Meanwhile, the boy hiding in the corner, peeking at Damian, was extremely nervous. He was a teacher from the next class and had been struggling to find an opportunity for a long time... but it seemed like there was no chance at all. He was crouching nervously in the corner until something blocked his view.

He looked up and saw Damian walking towards him. His expression was no different from usual, but he seemed flustered. He probably knew he had been discovered, so he could only muster his courage…

"Um... I... can I ask for the phone number of the girl who came to drop you off this morning?"

Damian had already suspected his intentions, but upon hearing the other's words, his expression darkened. Just as he was about to retort, Jonathan seemed to sense something and tugged at him, signaling him not to go too far. Damian pretended not to see, but perhaps he was lucky, because the school bell suddenly rang and the teacher walked in. Just when he thought he would be let off the hook...

Damian spoke, his voice rising noticeably, his chin slightly raised. The light shone behind him, obscuring his face, but one could hear a tone in his voice that suggested he was indifferent to him or something else entirely.

"She's my family, what about you? TT"

He then remembered that Damian was the young master of the Wayne Group, and her? Well… *sobs* His first love is ruined…

At that moment, Enid had just received a text message from Dick—"Sorry, something suddenly happened in Broodhaven, and we might miss the sunset. How about we go see the moon together tonight, and I'll make it up to you by watching the sunset next time? Dear Doctor."

Enid agreed.

She clearly didn't know that she had agreed to another date with him, but right now she just thought it was great that she could pick Damian up from school and then go to Brudhaven to find Dick.

Lyra, circling in the sky: Oh no!

Damian, who was still in class and about to be dismissed, turned his head and saw Leila looking serious outside the window.

A note from the author:

----------------------

Dick, who had planned to go on a date after work, unfortunately had to work overtime, and then Brood Haven got into trouble again (well, it's normal that he was in Gotham the past few days, right?). It's okay, it won't interfere with Dick's date tonight. Although he felt a little tired (?), he gained another date!

But, going on a date in Brudhaven at night, or birdwatching there when I'm free, shouldn't be a problem with my brother around. Dad should be at ease (probably, maybe, or at least, uh-huh).

Almost there. The next chapter will be a heart-to-heart talk between the brother and sister; they'll discuss some secrets, but not many.

I'll cry if there are no comments [crying][crying][crying][crying] Waaaaaah
