Chapter 15 Life is full of drama

I bought the lower berth on this train and when I got in, I saw a man and a woman sitting on her berth. "Hello, this is my berth, please give up." Jiang Cha was not very happy. The only problem with the lower berth was that anyone could sit on it.

"I'm sorry, my wife is pregnant. Can I change berths with you? I'll pay you the difference." The man was fair-skinned and spoke very politely.

I asked them if they had a ticket for the middle berth and the upper berth. I paid the difference and changed the upper berth with them. The pregnant woman might not be feeling well, so she leaned on the quilt and didn't say anything.

People started arriving one after another, and soon the carriage was full. Six people: the pregnant couple, Jiang Cha herself, an elderly woman, a middle-aged woman, and a young man in his own bunk.

The old lady has been talking non-stop since she got on the car. She has been muttering about how she should be replaced. She hasn't laid an egg in all these years. What's the use of her?

The middle-aged woman murmured in agreement, the pregnant woman and the young couple spoke in low voices, and the young man in the bunk across from her looked greasy with his slicked-back hair and powdered face. This train was a real riot; everyone seemed a bit difficult to get along with.

Next, I'll look at her Haixia (a female island militia member). This train leaves this afternoon and will arrive in the capital around noon tomorrow. I pull out my kettle from my bag, which contains pre-brewed tea, and while I enjoy it with the five-spice beans, I slowly read a book to pass the time.

Perhaps the tea was good. After twisting it open and taking a few sips, the jasmine tea aroma filled the air. "You're so young and don't know what politeness is. The elders are still here, and you don't even ask before drinking tea. It's rude. If..." Before the old lady could finish, the middle-aged woman quickly stopped her, "My mother is old. Don't argue with her."

"If this were in the past, would I have to do a squatting greeting (a Qing Dynasty Manchu greeting) and then bend down to offer you tea?" Jiang Cha was also angry. The train hadn't even started, and he was already nitpicking. Who was bothering me with a cup of tea? After such a long train ride, drinking some tea would help cool down the heat.

The middle-aged woman was almost terrified. In this day and age, this is a feudal remnant. Who would dare to get involved? She quickly explained, "It's a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding. We are of good family background. The old lady is in a bad mood and is angry with me. Please be understanding."

Seeing that Jiang Cha was not to be trifled with, the old lady stopped talking. The carriage was now very quiet. The big hat was too scary. Even the slicked-back guy across from her didn't dare look at her. This was a good thing; it saved her trouble.

The car started to move slowly, and I slowly fell asleep due to the ginger tea. When I opened my eyes again, I was woken by the shouting of the lunch box vendor. The lunch box vendor opened 20 minutes earlier than the dining car.

I stuffed my books and water bottle into my bag, got out of bed, and headed to the dining car for lunch. It wasn't crowded at the moment, so the noodles I ordered arrived quickly.

The eggplant and tomato stew was sour and slightly sweet, and the hand-rolled noodles were chewy and firm. She ate a full bowl and was so full that she secretly rubbed her belly. She had gained weight in the past few days.

She went to the bathroom to get some water, then returned to her upper bunk, ignoring the middle-aged woman who had spoken to her. "How rude! When an elderly person says something wrong, they should just apologize. Why are you making such a sullen face? We didn't owe you anything. Look at the sullen face! I don't know what your parents taught you."

Jiang Cha didn't expect the pregnant woman to argue with her. It was she who changed the bed, and they had nothing to do with the conflict just now. Why was she the first to speak?

"What did my parents teach me? Why don't you go ask them?" Jiang Cha said to her directly, annoying her to death. "Don't think I don't dare. What are the statuses of Grandma Zeng and Aunt Zeng? Seeing how you are pushing your luck, I have to ask your parents."

It's not over yet. What kind of status do you hear the old lady and her daughter have? He was so annoyed that he lowered his head and asked, "Since you're so talkative, I guess everything is fine. Let's switch beds. I don't want to live on the top bunk anymore."

The pregnant woman got anxious when she heard this. She definitely couldn't go up with her belly! Now she was pointing at this treasure! She quickly pulled the man's sleeve and shook it a few times.

The man apologized to Jiang Cha, saying that the pregnant woman was wrong and asked her to forgive him. After the friction, there was silence again, and everyone did everything quietly.

Everyone knew that she was not someone to be trifled with, so the mother and daughter did not dare to cause trouble. The pregnant woman was probably afraid of the child, so she would not make a fuss if anything went wrong.

Aside from fetching water and going to the toilet, the rest of the night was quiet. Jiang Cha slept until dawn, and when everyone else got up, she went downstairs to wash up.

When I came back, I saw the old lady chatting with the pregnant woman. If you didn't know, you would think they were the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. The old lady kept praising the pregnant woman for her good pregnancy.

The two pretended not to see her, holding hands and chatting happily. She didn't go to the dining car to eat, but just drank some water and ate an apple.

The two were so engrossed in their conversation that their voices grew louder. The old woman and her daughter had gone to see her son. Her daughter-in-law had been married for several years but had no children. This time, she was going back to urge her son again. If that didn't work, she could find a new one. Her son had been promoted, so how could he be childless?

The pregnant woman and her husband were going home; the husband was away on business and worried about her being home alone. The baby was almost five months old, so it was nice for her to go out and play.

Listening to the pregnant woman's flattering chat, the old lady's son must be an official. Hearing that the train was about to arrive at the station, everyone packed up and prepared to get off.

The old lady must have been flattered all the way, and then said in a sarcastic way that she was young and had a bad temper, so it would be difficult for her to find a husband in the future. Look at Xiao Zhao, how gentle and considerate, and how pregnant she is, what a good child, well-educated by her parents.

It was almost time to get off the train, so Jiang Cha ignored her. She squeezed out of the train and combed her hair on the platform; her braids had been tangled since she got off the train.

Suddenly I saw a fight not far from me, so I hastily braided my hair and squeezed in with my bag to take a look. Who doesn’t like to watch the fun?

Yo, the pregnant couple in the car were fighting, or more precisely, one side was being beaten. A tough woman grabbed the pregnant woman's hair and slapped her in the face.
