Chapter 28 Blind Date

"Hey, who's back? The college student from our alley? Tell me quickly, which school are you attending? Is it Peking University or Tsinghua University?"

The woman across the street leaned against the wall, cracking sunflower seeds and asking her: "Everyone knows her grades aren't high, much worse than the kid on the street behind."

Ever since the house next door was rented to some Korean gangs that year, she discovered and helped to crack down on the gang. The other tenants in the house were also implicated, and her husband almost lost his job.

Later, he was fined three months' salary by the factory and transferred from the office to the most tiring place on the front line.

Every time I pass by their door, that woman is always weird and looks very much like her mother-in-law. This is what love and hate are like.

"Sister-in-law, how did you know I was studying at Peking University or Tsinghua University? Were we classmates? If I had known you were studying this major, it must have been to have more children."

Jiang Cha's words were a bit mean. The neighbor next door is almost going crazy trying to have a baby. There is a knife under the root of the tongue, which can kill people without shedding blood.

"What's your major? I heard that kid from Back Street studied mechanics at Peking University and Tsinghua University. He seems pretty good."

We've lived in this alley for years, and everyone knows who's in it. Your family rented the house to spies, and you even wanted to kill Xiao Jiang. The kids didn't complain, but they're still going strong.

"I'm just curious, Xiao Jiang, are you studying to be a doctor?"

When she told me she could have more children, I asked her a few more questions out of curiosity. What was more important than having children? The one we adopted wasn't very good; she always felt like she couldn't raise them well enough.

"I learned postpartum care for sows. Do you need it?"

After saying that, she waited for the car and went into the house, turned around and closed the door. The shouting and cursing outside proved that she was in good health and full of energy!

Go home and clean up the house. You've been away for so long, and there's dirt everywhere.

The climate in the capital is dry and windy. If you don't clean up the house in a day, it will turn into dust, let alone being away for so long.

By the time she finished cleaning up and washing the sheets, she was so tired that she couldn't even lift her arms.

I simply skipped dinner and went home to get a good night's sleep. I was so careful when sleeping at work, afraid I'd talk in my sleep.

There was a group of cunning people hiding inside, and they were even more nervous than she was outside.

I slept comfortably until dawn, packed up and went to visit each house with gifts.

"Auntie, this is the scarf I bought for you, and some chocolate for my younger brother. Other things are not very convenient."

Uncle Liu's aunt held a silk scarf and chocolates, kept looking at her, and then suddenly slapped her on the back.

"Snap"

The noise was so loud that even Uncle Liu, who was cooking in the kitchen, heard it and hurried over with a spatula.

"What's wrong? The child hasn't come over for a long time, why did you hit him?"

"Ask her, who gave her the courage to do this? How dangerous is it? Can't you just stay at home, go to work beautifully every day, and go shopping and date after work?"

Aunt Liu cried and said ginger tea, and threw the things in her hand to Uncle Liu.

Uncle Liu, who was in a daze, picked up the gift and his expression changed. He raised the shovel in his hand and wanted to slap her several times but couldn't bear to do it.

"You! You're getting bolder and bolder. If anything happens to you in such a dangerous situation, how am I going to explain this to your parents?"

Jiang Cha was also confused. Not only did he get beaten for giving a gift, but he also had to reveal his secrets?

"Which one, what did I say?"

"What the hell, your aunt used to receive this gift quite often. Whenever she got one, it was because she was on a mission, and her family would always be waiting for her return with tears in their eyes. She finally retired safely, and now you're the one who took it up again."

I pondered over the words when the ginger tea came to my mouth, but I didn't know what to say. I don't know if they are from the same unit, anyway, they are doing similar work.

The work is confidential, how can anyone come out? She didn't know what to say. She had to go back and tell her boss. What kind of people are they?

"Aunt, I know you're worried about me for my own good, but I'm grown up now. Don't worry, I'll definitely report to you first every time I come back. As long as you don't find me annoying, okay?"

The couple also knew that things were a bit troublesome, so they deliberately avoided this topic and talked about other things.

"I'm going back first. Don't worry! I'm fine!"

"Go back and find your boss first. This happened unintentionally. We both have to go write the materials later, so don't forget."

Uncle Liu kept telling her that even if it was an accident, she had to report it to her superiors. After all, hadn't they made a mistake?

I returned to the unit to explain the situation to my leader, took the written materials I had written overnight, handed them in, and waited for the unit's opinion on how to handle the matter.

This matter could be big or small, I don’t know what to do?

"Jiang Cha, after careful consideration and discussion, we've decided to deduct one month's salary from you. You're also not allowed to buy souvenirs or items with logos on them when you go on missions. Do you understand?"

Jiang Cha thought she would be severely punished, but she was let off so lightly?

"Your Aunt Liu's father worked at a sister company of ours and has already retired, but the confidentiality period has already passed. So, let it go this time. You're smart for not giving gifts to other people's homes again, otherwise you'd be punished!"

Jiang Cha breathed a sigh of relief. She was so scared, but she still liked this job very much.

"But the vacation is over, pack up and get ready to go."

Jiang Cha quickly returned to the dormitory, packed his backpack, got on the car parked at the door, and went straight to the train station.

The driver didn't speak to her on the way. When they arrived at the station, he handed her the ticket and said, "Have a safe journey."

Jiang Cha boarded the train with his ticket and found his seat in the sleeper berth. He opened his backpack and found his water bottle. After years of traveling on business, he had long been accustomed to the crowded trains.

I climbed onto the bed and looked at the ticket in my hand, which was to Caiyun Province.

Things have been unsettled over there, so there must be some big action going on that would have made her go there.

We ate and drank well along the way, and every day we did nothing but eat and sleep.

I was ready to save my energy for the next move, and the bus arrived at the station. From a distance outside, I saw Guangjin holding a big sign.

"Welcome friends to come for a blind date!"
