"Ahead is Zheyin Mountain. Over there is the disputed territory between the Monkey Kingdom and us. Be careful these few days; they're acting like mad dogs over there lately."
Their movement in the forest wasn't unseen; they had been warned in advance. Their caution was a precaution against potential enemies. The two countries had previously had close relations, and the border residents were not particularly defensive.
So they didn't know how many eyes were watching them, and that was also the reason they built a small workshop. If anyone asked them, they would say they were afraid of being raided again, and that this remote place was safer.
Anyway, the old village chief was fooled and would always smile and praise them for their good vision. It was said that when the Japanese invaders came to raid, they didn't even bother to visit their village.
I continued to move forward with my head held high. The further I went, the more uncomfortable I felt. In the hot and humid environment, every breath felt stifled.
The cooling oil brought by Jiang Cha became the most popular item in the team.
It repels insects, refreshes the mind, and is a powerful weapon in the jungle. It's just a little too little, and with so little of it passed around, no one wants to use more.
"Everyone, feel free to use them. I brought a lot this time, enough for everyone."
He took out a handful from his bag and distributed two to everyone.
She still had a lot of this stuff. She bought several large boxes in Mingzhu City, and there was enough supply in the space.
"Hide, hide, there are a few people coming up ahead."
The leader whispered a message to the back, and everyone quickly dispersed and hid in the dense vines, on the trees, and behind the banana trees.
Jiang Cha and the team leader hid in the vines. She was afraid that her tree-climbing skills were not good enough and she would waste time and be discovered. After all, the trees in the jungle were very tall.
The team leader was worried about her coming along, after all, there was only one girl in the team.
I don't know why she was allowed to join the team and take risks. She adhered to the style of a qualified leader and never gave up on any comrade.
The vines were so densely intertwined that they looked like a natural fishing net, and the lush branches and leaves completely covered the two of them.
Looking through the gaps in the leaves at the people coming over, they were small and dark, and clearly looked like they were from the Monkey Kingdom.
I couldn't understand a word they said, they were just chattering and laughing loudly from time to time. Everyone was holding a steel pipe or something in their hands.
It looks like they are here for patrol, so how come they ran into them before they even reached their side?
The team leader frowned seriously, and Jiang Cha didn't dare to speak because he was too close to them.
“Squeak, squeak!”
The leader hooked his finger at her and quickly moved over to prick up his ears.
"I'll subdue them later, and you can use something to gag them. They must be holding their farts if they dare to come over. It would save us the trouble if they can solve the problem in advance like us."
Jiang Cha nodded repeatedly to show that he understood.
The monkeys were peeing with their backs to them, and if she saw correctly, Guangjin was right on top of them.
The team leader carefully went around from behind the vines and slowly passed behind the tree in stealth.
After changing the cover several times, Jiang Cha was already right next to the monkey. He didn't dare to blink, staring at it closely.
The leader flew over and knocked one of them down, and Jiang Cha ran out nimbly when he jumped.
The leader overpowered the one who was knocked unconscious by his swift punch, while the other monkeys attacked the leader with steel pipes.
Guangjin came down from the tree and kicked one of them directly, ignoring their chattering. Jiangcha came over and chopped off their jaws neatly.
The others didn't run away either. Jiang Cha knocked one of them unconscious with a steel pipe, and the others rushed over and knocked out the rest.
Someone went to cut the vines to tie them up.
Guangjin and his companions dislocated the people's joints skillfully and put an end to their attempts to escape in just a few moves.
The team leader and the others kept giving thumbs up. No wonder they asked these two kids to come over. They must be quite capable!
"Wow, wow, wow!"
Someone in the team knew the language there and squatted on the ground to ask them questions.
"Hurry up and put him back! I was just asking! Forget about this. They can't speak, and they're drooling so much!"
Jiang Cha went over and broke it back for the monkey, and rubbed the dirt on his hands back on the monkey. It was so dirty that he knew if there was anything wrong. After all, the United States had messed around there a few years ago.
Perhaps her disgust was too obvious, so the team leader asked her to go find some water nearby and wash herself thoroughly. The little girl loved cleanliness.
"I'll go find some water to wash. You should also try not to touch their saliva or blood. To be frank, the United States was in a state of chaos at the time. Who knows what diseases they had."
Jiang Cha spoke bluntly, and the group of old men were too careless to think about it. After hearing what she said, they all spoke with sticks in their hands.
Knowing they couldn't move, I stood one meter away and poked them with branches and sticks when I had nothing to do.
The one who was familiar with the monkey language stood one meter away and asked questions. When he suddenly looked at this group of people, he felt that they looked like they were teasing monkeys in a zoo.
Guangjin followed her to find water. He also had a share in the removal of the jawbone, but he didn't pay much attention to whether he had rubbed it or not.
It would be safer to wash it with water, otherwise I would feel uneasy after hearing what she said.
The two walked for a while listening to the sound of water, and soon a not-so-wide river appeared in front of them.
This river runs through the jungle, and it's probably where we've been getting water these past few days. The leader mentioned our route, and it wasn't far from the river.
They were not needed to fetch water. Those people took turns doing the work and treated them as people who were just here to gain experience.
There are many footprints on the shore, which suggests there are many animals nearby. Look carefully in the grass on the shore and use a stick to swish back and forth a few times to prevent a snake from suddenly scurrying out.
She rubbed her hands back and forth in the river a few times, then took out soap from her bag and rubbed them vigorously. Guangjin also imitated her. This had nothing to do with being particular, but was about preventing infectious diseases.
