Volume 1 Chapter 280: Approaching Due Date
Sheng Wanyan nodded. There was no time to take a nap today, so she decided to chat with Pan Yue.
"Sister-in-law, any news?"
Pan Yue naturally understood what Sheng Wanyan meant, and she quickly shared the latest situation with her.
Pan Yue went to ask Pan's father, and it seemed that Gu Tingxiao and the others had completed their mission and returned.
"I don't know what the situation is, but the mission has been accomplished."
The mission has been accomplished, and there is nothing that Pan's father cannot hide from telling about their whereabouts.
I won't tell them this so that they can feel more at ease and just wait for him to come back.
Sheng Wanyan nodded and touched her belly.
"This kid hasn't been bothering you lately. It seems he wants to wait for his father to come back before coming out."
When Sheng Wanyan heard this, she realized that was true. The little guy in her belly stopped making trouble after coming to the hospital.
He was not as anxious as he was at home. Instead, he became quieter and only kicked a few times occasionally.
"I hope Ting Xiao can see it."
"As long as the family is well, nothing else matters."
Sheng Wanyan’s words made Pan Yue feel sad. Being a military wife is too much to bear.
When I gave birth, Sheng Wanze was fortunately at home recuperating and able to accompany me.
His sister-in-law was alone during the most difficult period of her pregnancy, and Gu Tingxiao's task lasted for four months.
Gu Tingxiao was not at home during the most difficult months of a woman's pregnancy.
My sister-in-law is also strong and takes good care of me and the baby in her belly.
If it were me, I might not have the courage and strength to do this.
"Sister-in-law, I want to drink some water."
When Pan Yue heard this, she went to pour her a glass of warm water. A few hours later, the pregnant woman in the next bed was also pushed away to give birth.
Sheng Wanyan couldn't resist the sleepiness and fell asleep, and didn't wake up until Gu's mother came over with dinner.
After dinner, Sheng Wanyan wanted to go to the toilet and take a shower, and Gu's mother helped her go.
It’s not that convenient to take a shower in the hospital, you can just wipe your body with hot water.
But Sheng Wanyan has space. When she doesn't go to the toilet, she will sneak in to take a shower and then come out.
Gu's mother stayed here to keep her company at night. The military hospital had folding beds for marching, and Sheng Wanyan was a soldier's wife, so naturally she would not refuse to give them to her.
This makes it convenient for Gu's mother to take care of Sheng Wanyan at night, otherwise how could Gu's mother sleep on the stool every day!
When Sheng Wanyan woke up the next day, the pregnant woman next to her had been wheeled back in, along with her child.
She gave birth to a boy, which made her husband's family very happy.
She kept calling her a good daughter-in-law and was so happy.
A pregnant woman who was about to give birth at the same time as Sheng Wanyan looked on with envy and unconsciously reached out to touch her belly.
"What are you looking at? I think this baby of yours might be another money-losing one."
The mother-in-law who was taking care of her rolled her eyes. She already had two daughters, and she would not want another girl if she was pregnant with the third one!
What I want is a grandson, not a granddaughter who will lose money!
Whoever likes money-losing stuff can go for it. Anyway, we can’t afford these money-losing stuff!
"If you can't give birth to a son this time, go back to your parents' home!"
The pregnant woman who was scolded had red eyes and bit her lips, not daring to speak, for fear that her words would displease her mother-in-law.
Lunch was brought by Grandma Sheng, and breakfast was bought by Mother Gu in the cafeteria.
Lunch is usually brought by Grandpa Sheng and Grandma Sheng, and then Pan Yue takes over after they go back.
Gu's mother cooked dinner and brought it over. Before noon, Grandpa and Grandma Sheng were seen.
Gu's mother gave her and Sheng Wanyan's food to the Sheng family. They couldn't eat the food from the Sheng family for free, right?
Grandma Sheng made meat buns and some side dishes for lunch today. Sheng Wanyan was full after eating a big meat bun.
Grandma Sheng was willing to add more ingredients, as she couldn’t eat so much meat.
Eating a big meat bun was already a bit greasy, so I ate a lot of side dishes.
The pregnant woman on the other side was so envious as she was about to give birth and hadn't eaten meat buns for such a long time.
They all gave birth to children at about the same time, but the treatment they received was completely different.
Every day she could see Sheng Wanyan, who gave birth to her child at about the same time as her, sitting in the innermost bed and ate fine grains every day.
I eat eggs for breakfast, noodles and meat buns for lunch, and rice and chicken soup for dinner.
We have malted milk to drink every morning, and cakes and fruits to eat from time to time in the afternoon.
Unless she didn't want to eat, she would never miss a meal of that fine grain!
During her ten months of pregnancy, she only ate meat buns once, and that was given to her because she was pregnant.
But this Sheng Wanyan is eaten every day, and it makes me drool just looking at it.
Forget about meat buns, even eating white flour buns requires looking at my mother-in-law’s mood.
But Sheng Wanyan's mother-in-law wanted to stuff the fine grains into Sheng Wanyan's mouth and feed her.
They are all women, and they are all pregnant, but the gap is so long and so big.
The more she thought about it, the more aggrieved she felt, and the look in her eyes when she looked at Sheng Wanyan made her feel even more aggrieved.
Sheng Wanyan felt her gaze pause. Mother Gu knew the situation in the ward.
Why don’t you draw the curtains to prevent others from looking at your house from that perspective?
Mother Gu was a little unhappy. Why are you complaining to us about not having anything to eat? She looked at her third daughter-in-law as if her family owed her something.
We are not your family. If you are having a bad life, there is no need to affect others here.
Every time the third daughter-in-law ate something, she lay on the hospital bed and looked at Sheng Wanyan with a wronged look.
The look in his eyes was as if his third daughter-in-law shouldn't eat it.
Just because you're having a hard time, do we have to be merciful and treat you to a meal?
Or, to take your feelings into consideration, do I have to stop eating refined grains myself?
Mother Gu felt a little uncomfortable. She could understand your difficulties, but you couldn't act as if others were wronging you.
"Yan'er, eat more."
Sheng Wanyan nodded and finished the big meat bun without any hesitation.
"Grandpa and grandma, you guys eat too."
Grandpa Sheng and Grandma Sheng brought five meat buns, and Sheng Wanyan and Mother Gu were full after eating one each.
"We won't eat it. Your grandfather and I ate it before we came here. There are several at home."
"Save the rest for when you're hungry in the afternoon or evening."
Grandma Sheng didn't lie. She and Grandpa Sheng had indeed eaten before coming.
I made ten meat buns myself, and now there are only two left in the kitchen at noon.
Sheng Wanyan stopped listening. She could tell at a glance whether her grandparents were lying or not.
Seeing that they did not lie about saving money, he accepted the other meat buns.
"Your grandfather and I will go back first."
"You should have a good rest."
Sheng Wanyan nodded. It only took twenty minutes to walk back from here. It was very close.
After finishing her meal, Sheng Wanyan got out of bed to digest the food. Gu's mother supported her and walked around the bed for a while.
The more she looked at the pregnant women who gave birth in the same period as Sheng Wanyan, the more she envied them. They had to digest fine grains while she couldn't even eat them once.
While digesting the food, the doctor came over to check on everyone. Sheng Wanyan looked full of energy while digesting the food.
