Chapter 5 Quarrel

Chapter 5 Quarrel

Just at this moment, Lihua came in: "Daohua, Linghua, you two lazy girls! Hurry up and get dressed, and get up to eat!"

Daohua tried her best to suppress the urge to buy some clothes from the supermarket, and put on an empty cotton jacket and empty cotton pants despite the discomfort, while asking Lihua:

"Sister, what are the second aunt and the others arguing about so early in the morning?"

Linghua pouted, rubbed her eyes with her fists, and said to Lihua in a daze, "No, no, I haven't woken up yet."

Lihua came over and quickly lifted Linghua's upper body out of the quilt. She supported her back and helped her sit steadily. She put a cotton jacket on her swiftly while answering Daohua's question:

"What else could it be? They always quarrel. It just so happens that they both have to cook. They are fighting to use the big kitchen first! If I were to ask them, they could have cooked a lot of meals in their spare time!"

In the past, the Xia family ate together as a whole family, and the four daughters-in-law took turns cooking.

Just steam the wild vegetable and millet cakes on a covered curtain, cook a big pot of porridge, and cut half a lump of pickled cabbage, and the whole family’s breakfast is ready.

But now that we’ve split up, we can’t eat like this anymore.

Since we are not eating together, cooking naturally has to be done on a first come first served basis.

People living in the big house usually live in town and don’t need the big kitchen.

The people in the fourth room got up early, and before the second and third rooms woke up, Xia Youtian and Jiang had already brought back all the water needed for the day. Then Jiang made breakfast, and Lihua helped. Both of them were quick and skillful, and breakfast was on the table in less than a quarter of an hour.

As Lihua spoke, she dressed Linghua, put on her shoes, and helped her jump off the kang. Daohua was also dressed and climbed down from the kang obediently.

Lihua folded the quilt into a tofu block and stuffed it into the kang cabinet. Then she took a kang broom and swept the kang surface. In the blink of an eye, the kang was tidied up.

The three little girls walked hand in hand into the main room to have breakfast together.

The table had already been set up in the main room.

The yellow rice sticky bean buns on the table were emitting hot white steam, a large bowl of thin millet porridge was emitting an enticing aroma, the pickled vegetables were chopped into thin strips, drizzled with a few drops of sesame oil, and mixed with some chopped green onions... It was delicious just by looking at it!

Xia Youtian and Jiang have already started eating.

When Goro saw Lihua and the others coming, he quickly stood up and asked them to come to the table quickly.

Lihua took Linghua and Daohua and pulled the two little girls aside. She asked them to wash their hands with the hot water from steaming buns in the morning. She also wiped the faces of the little sisters one by one with hot towels before letting them sit at the table to eat.

This was the first time that the fourth family sat together and had breakfast in such an intimate way.

Before the family split up, the entire Xia family ate together for every meal.

The old man and the old lady had their own small table on the kang, and the others were men at one table, women at another, and the half-grown children at another table.

If it was the fourth room's turn to cook, Jiang would have to take Lihua and Daohua with her and run around, while her male grandson Wulang and the still younger Linghua could sit at the children's table first.

Xia Daohua sincerely felt that it was more comfortable for the family to sit together and eat like this.

In her previous life, she ate alone most of the time.

I occasionally eat and drink with friends, and the memories of eating with my boss and colleagues when I was working a few years ago and eating with my family are already very long gone.

Her parents divorced when she was very young. After they remarried, they seemed to have forgotten that they had a daughter. Her grandfather accompanied her through some of the most important moments in her life.

Later, her grandfather passed away and she was completely alone.

The reason why she had the dream of opening a supermarket was because when she was a child, she liked to go to the small shop at the entrance of the village to play. Her grandfather had said more than once that he would save some money and open a small supermarket for her in the future so that she could eat whatever she wanted.

Xia Daohua raised her head, blinked, and blinked back the tears that were about to fall.

Even though traveling back to ancient times was bad and uncomfortable in every way, there was at least one good thing - she finally had a family who cared about her.

The family sat together in a warm atmosphere, happily eating breakfast. While eating, they quietly pricked up their ears to listen to the noise coming from the big kitchen.

The second aunt was upset because of the division of the family. The third aunt was always stubborn and would not give in. Before the division of the family, the two of them would quarrel every now and then.

Now that they had a "legitimate reason", the argument became even more heated.

Jiang drank two mouthfuls of porridge to fill her stomach, then stood up and wanted to go over to stop the fight.

Lihua threw her chopsticks down angrily: "You are not allowed to go!"

Jiang was immediately angry and amused: "Lihua, why are you so disrespectful? You're even controlling your mother?

Xia Youtian also frowned: "Lihua, how do you talk to your mother?"

Lihua said angrily, "Mom, why are you so nosy? If they want to quarrel, let them quarrel! If you try to stop the quarrel, won't both sides vent their anger at you?"

Goro also nodded in agreement, and although his tone was calm, his complaints were harsher than Rika's:

"Yes, mother, they both don't understand human language and can't tell good from bad. If you go to mediate the fight, they won't see your good intentions and might even accuse you of being there to stir up trouble and watch the fun. You should stop going through this trouble and just eat your meal!"

Daohua winked at Linghua, and the two of them rushed to Jiang's side, one on the left and one on the right, and each of them grabbed an arm and refused to let go:

"Mom, don't go, stay and have dinner!"

"Mom, please don't go. Linghua is scared..."

Seeing the children's unanimous attitude, Xia Youtian also spoke up: "The children are right. Hurry up and sit down to eat."

Although Xia Youtian doesn't talk much, one word he says is more effective than ten thousand words from the children.

After hearing this, Jiang sat down even though she was still a little uneasy. She picked up the chopsticks, picked up a sticky bean bun, took two bites, and then slowly drank the porridge with pickled vegetables.

Seeing that Jiang had finally listened to their advice, the children all breathed a sigh of relief. Daohua and Linghua also returned to their seats.

Xia Daohua picked up a yellow rice flour sticky bean bun and tasted it. It was soft, glutinous, sweet, and slightly bitter, but it couldn't cover the wild and rich aroma of grain.

The bean filling tastes very good, with a strong bean flavor and a bit of natural fishy smell. If you chew it carefully, it has a slight sweetness, but it is obvious that no sugar is added.

"It's so delicious!" Xia Daohua praised sincerely.

"Is it delicious? We harvested these beans together in the fall. Do you still remember Daohua?" Lihua asked cautiously.

Don’t miss it if you pass by. Since you are here, vote before you leave! (づ ̄ 3 ̄)づ
