"Mom, did I say something wrong just now? I didn't mean it. I was just worried about Uncle Ge and the others. They're already old, and I don't know how many more years they have left. It would be such a waste if something else happened to them."
The tone was rich with the aroma of tea, and the words struck a chord deep within.
Xiao Yunying knew that her words could be considered malicious, but she did not feel guilty.
Normally, she would be extremely kind and gentle to kind elderly people, and even if she encountered an annoying elderly person, she would simply ignore them.
And these two, along with Ge Changjian, and who knows, other members of the Ge family, might have bullied and tormented Xiao Yuntao in their daily lives.
Therefore, she doesn't mind temporarily forgetting the concept of respecting the elderly and caring for the young that she was taught since childhood, and retaliating in kind.
You should know that some people don't deserve to be called human beings.
Some elderly people don't deserve respect from others.
For example, the two people in front of her were categorized by Xiao Yunying as unworthy.
Xiao Yunying is a very protective person. The Ge family is just an ordinary farming family, not some powerful family that can't be offended. It's impossible for her to swallow this insult.
Unfortunately, since they were only nominal "elders," she couldn't physically punish them; she could only provoke them with words.
(Not part of the main text: I need to ask you all a favor. If you've read this far, you must be somewhat interested in this story. I'm shamelessly asking you all for a book review.)
Five-star reviews aren't necessary. I'm a complete novice and know my writing isn't mature enough and has some shortcomings. I just hope you all will give honest reviews based on your own thoughts and not deliberately give only one star.
As I mentioned before, I took a break from updating for a while due to health reasons. A couple of days ago, I went through all the paragraph comments and book reviews and found that in the first few dozen chapters, many readers kept saying that the female lead was a saint, the child was an ingrate, and that Luo Sheng deserved to die.
Only Chen Yuancheng escaped unscathed.
There were so many comments like this in the first 30 or 40 chapters that some people were even affected and had no patience to read on. This made me very anxious, so I had to go back to chapter 21 and write a long explanation.
I set each character's personality in relation to their experiences, which will gradually be revealed as the plot unfolds. I don't know if I didn't explain it clearly enough, or if some of you didn't understand, or if some impatient people didn't even see it before jumping on the bandwagon and making comments, confidently believing they've determined some storyline, as if they know the story's development better than I, the author.
For example, she confidently asserted that the male protagonist, Luo Sheng, was a member of the royal family, and said that she wouldn't write comments without the royal family.
Then some people believed these comments and followed suit, complaining in the comments section, looking all wronged.
There are quite a few comments like this, where people inexplicably believe in their own guesses and then use them to criticize me. I don't know how these people determine that their guesses are correct. I can only say that these people have richer imaginations and are more confident than I do.
Earlier, Luo Yang introduced his background, saying that his grandfather and other elders all died on the battlefield to protect the Yi Kingdom. This clearly shows that he was a military general, at most a Grand General or a king of a different surname. How could he possibly be a descendant of royalty?
Some people even used foul language, but out of consideration for other readers, I was asked to delete the comments.
I don't know why some people are so hostile. Maybe something bad happened recently and they're in a bad mood. I can understand that. But my darlings, I'm not a pushover. I'll be upset if I get scolded for no reason.
But I can't ignore these comments. After all, authors write books for readers, and I need to collect your opinions and suggestions on the plot development to make appropriate adjustments.
Of course, there are few such people; I've only found three or four so far, but they're enough to ruin my mood.
Not reporting it is my last act of kindness. Sending you love.
Some people may not know that certain comments filled with profanity can be banned if reported successfully, and in severe cases, permanently banned. For details, please see Chapter 73 of "Tomato Novel Team Notes". This is the official introduction, not something I made up.
Perhaps due to physical reasons, I am quite emotionally fragile. Seeing too many negative comments really affects my mood and motivation to write.
Sometimes I even start to doubt whether there's something wrong with my own values, which is why I wrote such an unpopular character.
But seeing other people's rebuttals and explanations under some of my off-topic comments makes me feel like I should be normal.
I'm not saying all this to play the victim, please don't misunderstand. I think I'm in a pretty good state of mind right now. Most of the comments have given me more encouragement than negativity. I just wanted to share my true thoughts with everyone.
If you're interested and have the time, you can check out the explanations I added in Chapter 21. They might clear up any confusion you might have. If it's not too much trouble, please leave a comment. Thank you.
That being said, it feels good to have someone protecting you, hehe.
My eyes are still healing, so I can't overuse them and won't be updating much, but I promise I won't stop updating. Once my condition stabilizes, I'll definitely update more frequently.
Thank you to all the readers who have been following the story and giving me tips, and thank you for all the heartwarming comments. You gave me the motivation to keep going and dispelled my thoughts of giving up on this story.
Hmm... I'm rambling again. I'm getting old, so please bear with me, my darlings. Let's not talk about this anymore. If you have any good suggestions, please feel free to post them for discussion. I will take them into consideration.
(Finally, sending you a heart emoji. Love you all!)
