Chapter 333 I Want a Divorce

Xiao Yunying asked Mu Lianrong to take Xiao Yuntao to get the medicine, while she stayed behind and talked to Doctor Song.

With Dr. Song's permission, we thanked him, and after the medicine was prepared, we paid the money and left the clinic together.

Xiao Yunsong, who was waiting at the door, asked, "How is Third Sister's health?"

Mu Lianrong helped her two daughters into the car: "It's nothing serious, just a bit of qi and blood deficiency. The doctor prescribed some medicine to regulate the internal organs, and said that dietary supplements are the main solution."

The doctor's words were rather tactful, but Mu Lianrong understood them. To put it bluntly, she was tired and hungry.

She didn't say anything in front of her daughter, but in her heart she cursed the Ge family again and again.

Xiao Yuntao asked her younger sister, "What did you say to the doctor just now? Is there something else wrong with me?"

Xiao Yunying said, "No, Third Sister, don't overthink it. I was sick before and saw Doctor Song. I couldn't sleep well the other night, so I asked Doctor Song if I needed any medicine."

She wasn't telling the truth. What she actually told Doctor Song was that if she and her third sister brought a man over in a few days, she hoped Doctor Song could help diagnose whether there were any male-related ailments.

If so, say it on the spot.

There's no need to exaggerate; just be truthful.

Hearing her say this, Xiao Yuntao asked with concern, "Why can't you sleep well? Why don't you prescribe some medicine to calm your mind?"

Xiao Yunying said, "The doctor said it might be because I'm overthinking, which is why I can't sleep well at night. If it's not serious, I don't need to take any medicine. He told me to go back and adjust myself."

She just made up an excuse. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Mu Lianrong's face darken slightly. Afraid that her mother would misunderstand, she quickly added a few words:

"I'm thinking about planting vegetables every day after spring. I have to think about all sorts of things in advance, so it's inevitable that I overthink things. But it's okay, I'll calm down on my own."

Hearing that her daughter wasn't overthinking things because of that man, Mu Lianrong's expression softened, and she said to Xiao Yunying:

"Don't worry, your parents will help you with anything. Don't wear yourself out; it wasn't easy for you to recover."

Xiao Yunying took Mu Lianrong's arm: "I know, Mother, I won't tire myself out."

When they passed Huiweilou, Xiao Yunying suggested that they have lunch in the city. Mu Lianrong was still angry with the Ge family on the way, and then she remembered that her third daughter hadn't eaten anything since last night.

Xiao Yuntao looked at the entrance of Huiweilou, then looked down at her worn-out clothes. No matter how much they tried to persuade her, she refused to go in, saying that she could just eat at home and that she wasn't hungry.

Left with no other option, Xiao Yunying went and bought two packs of pastries and two steamed buns.

"Third sister, have something to eat first, and I'll cook for you when we get home. I'm a really good cook now."

Holding the oil paper, Xiao Yuntao felt the warmth emanating from the steamed buns, and her eyes suddenly reddened.

"Little sister, thank you so much. I will definitely pay you back for the money you spent today."

Xiao Yunying didn't deliberately try to stop her from crying; she simply said in a playful tone:

"What are you saying, Third Sister? We are sisters, why be so calculating? What do you mean by not paying back? You never asked me to pay back the money you gave me before."

She understood this feeling all too well. A person can endure the grievances they suffer for a long time on their own, but once someone offers comfort and care, even just a little, it is enough to make the negative emotions that have been building up inside explode.

In this situation, you can't just offer comfort; the more you do, the worse it will get. The best approach is to distract the other person and defuse any emotions that are about to erupt.

Xiao Yuntao tightened her grip on the steamed bun: "I only had a few copper coins..."

Xiao Yunying pretended not to hear, leaned over and stared at the oil paper, saying, "Third sister, this bun smells really good, can you break it in half for me?"

The tactic of distracting her was really effective. Xiao Yuntao didn't mention returning the money again. She used oil paper to cut off half of the bun and handed over the half with more meat filling.

"Little sister, you can eat."

Xiao Yunying took the other half with less filling: "I'm a little dizzy from the bumpy oxcart, I don't want to eat meat. Sister, you eat quickly, don't let it get cold."

She reminded Xiao Yunsong to drive the oxcart slowly, and to hurry home after Xiao Yuntao finished eating the buns.

When she got home, it was past noon. Her family had all finished eating. Xiao Yunying went to the kitchen to check the available ingredients and made four simple dishes and heated up some steamed buns.

Watching her skillfully chop and stir-fry vegetables, Xiao Yuntao was somewhat surprised: "Little sister, when did you learn to cook?"

Xiao Yunying calmly served the dishes: "After hitting my head several times, it seems like I've finally figured it out. I'm raising several children on my own now, and there are some things I have to learn. I'm also a glutton, so the first thing I learned was how to cook."

Xiao Yunying couldn't bear the look of relief in Xiao Yuntao's eyes, like a loving mother looking at her child, and said, "Third sister, the food is ready. Get your chopsticks and come eat."

After dinner, Xiao Yunying tidied up Xiao Yuntao's room and told her to get a good night's sleep.

Wang took out a newly made cotton-padded coat and said to Mu Lianrong, "Mother, I haven't worn this new cotton-padded coat yet, let Yun Tao wear it first."

The moment Zhang and Wang saw Xiao Yuntao, they guessed what was going on.

She looks so different now compared to during the Lunar New Year; it's hard not to wonder what's going on.

They didn't ask any more questions. Mu Lianrong would tell them whatever she wanted to say, and they couldn't get anything out of her just by asking.

Xiao Yunying said, "No need, Second Sister-in-law. These are new clothes made for you. I'll go home and get two sets for Third Sister to wear later."

Wang shook the cotton coat twice, then folded it up in her arms: "What do you mean 'yours' and 'mine'? This is all fabric and cotton that you bought with your money. You are taller, and Yun Tao is thinner. Your clothes don't fit Yun Tao. Yun Tao and I are about the same size, so this will be fine for me."

Xiao Yunying hugged the clothes: "That's fine. I made new clothes for my third sister in the city. I'll bring them back and give them to my second sister-in-law to wear."

Gently push open the door to Xiao Yuntao's room, and see that she has already taken off her old cotton clothes and is lying down. Quietly enter and place the new clothes on the side of the bed.

Xiao Yuntao spoke softly, "Little sister."

"Third sister, you're not asleep?"

Xiao Yuntao sat up: "I can't sleep."

Xiao Yunying patted the cotton-padded coat: "This is a new cotton-padded coat that Second Sister-in-law made. Third Sister, you can wear it first. When yours is finished, Second Sister-in-law can wear the same one."

Xiao Yuntao seemed not to have heard these words, and continued to carefully examine Xiao Yunying's face.

Xiao Yunying touched her face: "Third sister, is there something on my face?"

Could it be that Xiao Yuntao noticed something because my personality had changed too much?

Xiao Yuntao suddenly said something that shocked Xiao Yunying.

"Little sister, I want to divorce Ge Changjian."
