Chapter 556 Drunkenness

After Duan Yingying and he left the main room, Xiao Yunying gave a big smile: "How was it? Did I look like Yingying's elder just now?"

Cheng Yue took the opportunity to pour her a glass of wine: "You really know how to pretend."

Xiao Yunying couldn't stop her in time: "Don't pour it for me, or I'll really get drunk."

"With Yun Wan by your side, are you worried about not being able to get home?"

Xiao Yunying gave her a light glare and said to Duan Yingying's mother, "Auntie, you won't blame me for meddling too much, will you? I'm just too worried."

Duan Yingying's mother said, "How could that be? I'm indecisive and not as decisive as Yingying and Xiaoxiao. You and Miss Cheng are knowledgeable and experienced, so it would be good if you could help me choose Yingying. I'm so grateful to you."

"I'm glad my aunt doesn't blame me for meddling. It seems that Zhou Liang is not bad so far."

Just remember to remind Yingying that she is still too young and shouldn't rush into marriage. She didn't get enough nutrition in the past, which has taken a toll on her health. It's not good for her to have sex too early. She can get engaged first and then get married later.

Also, no matter how much she likes it, she absolutely must not do anything that shouldn't be done before the wedding. This is something she must remember.

I understand Duan Yingying's personality fairly well. This girl is very opinionated and has self-respect. She should know what she can and cannot do.

However, she was still worried and thought it best to give clear instructions, because she was afraid the girl would be shy. Letting her mother tell her these things would not make her seem like she was meddling too much or being too abrupt.

These blunt words made everyone blush. Duan Yingying's mother knew that she was thinking of her daughter, so she nodded and agreed with a red face.

When Duan Yingying returned, Xiao Yunying asked her a few more questions and learned that it was Zhou Liang who had pursued her first, and that she herself had fallen for Zhou Liang because she thought he was a good person.

Only after confirming that it was indeed her own choice and that she didn't have any other unspeakable reasons could I be completely at ease.

They ate some more and chatted for a while. Xiao Yunying was coaxed by Cheng Yue to drink another small glass of wine. She felt the effects of the alcohol and her head started to feel dizzy.

"Auntie, I think I'm a little drunk, so I'd like to leave now and come visit you again next time."

She didn't force herself to continue chatting in her dazed state, because she could sense that if she didn't leave soon, Zheng Yunwan would really have to carry her back.

Cheng Yue noticed that she was slurring her words: "Are you really drunk? I thought you were just making excuses when you said you couldn't drink, but I didn't expect you to have such a low alcohol tolerance?"

She had only heard Xiao Yunying say that she had a low alcohol tolerance and that when she was a child, she got drunk after drinking a sip of Uncle Xiao's rice wine and almost slept for a whole day.

She thought it was just Xiao Yunying teasing them and took it as a joke, remaining skeptical until now, when she started to believe it.

Xiao Yunying said with a wry smile, "I wasn't trying to fool you, I really can't hold my liquor."

"Then let's hurry up and go, otherwise if you really get drunk, Yunwan won't be able to help you."

The group hastily bid farewell to the Duan family mother and daughter. Zheng Yunwan helped Xiao Yunying out the door. Fortunately, the carriage was waiting at the alley entrance, and they got into the carriage as soon as they left the alley.

Cheng Yue helped Luo Xin onto the carriage at the end: "Yun Wan, please take care of Yun Ying. I think she really is drunk. It's my fault too, I shouldn't have kept making her drink. She'll feel uncomfortable when she wakes up."

"Don't worry, Sister Cheng Yue, I'll make Sister Yun Ying a hangover soup when I get back."

Xiao Yunying forced herself to stay calm and said, "I'm fine, Sister Cheng Yue, you should go back too."

"You're still not alright? You're slurring your words. Let's go, go home and rest early."

As soon as the carriage curtain was lowered, Xiao Yunying tilted her head and leaned on Zheng Yunwan's shoulder, not wanting to move.

"Yunwan, I feel a little dizzy. Let me lean against something for a while."

When the carriage reached the mountain road, it was no longer as smooth as the roads in the city. The bumpy dirt road made Xiao Yunying feel nauseous.

"Quickly, lift the curtain so I can get some fresh air. Tell Dai Jincai to drive the carriage faster so we can get back sooner. I feel a bit nauseous."

Ignoring the question of whether she would be questioned, she used her sleeve to cover herself, stuffed a mint into her mouth, and barely managed to suppress the urge to vomit.

She persevered all the way home, and her legs were so weak when she got off the bus, but fortunately Zheng Yunwan helped her up in time.

Xiao Yunying leaned weakly against Zheng Yunwan and staggered into the courtyard: "No, I have to fix the road. This mountain road is too bumpy."

She could hold it in when she was sober before, but today she really used all her strength to keep from vomiting.

As she spoke, her legs buckled, and she almost fell down along with Zheng Yunwan.

Zheng Yunwan could no longer hold on and could only call for help from inside the house: "Granny Chang, Mengchun and Mengxia, please come out and help me."

Hearing the commotion, everyone inside came out. Luo Sheng was the quickest, and he immediately picked Xiao Yunying up in his arms, asking, "What happened?"

Zheng Yunwan rubbed her shoulder: "I drank a few glasses of wine at Yingying's house and got drunk."

My shoulder hurts a bit; I think I strained it a little.

Hearing that the person in his arms was just drunk, Luo Sheng breathed a sigh of relief: "How much did she drink?"

"Yingying's family didn't have wine glasses, so they used teacups instead. She drank four small cups, each less than a sip, and got this drunk."

Luo Sheng was somewhat helpless, knowing full well that he had a low alcohol tolerance but still drank: "I'll take Yun Ying to rest first."

After saying that, he carried Xiao Yunying back into the house.

Madam Luo, who was standing to the side, asked Zheng Yunwan, "Has Yunying always had such a low alcohol tolerance? She got so drunk after drinking so little wine?"

Zheng Yunwan didn't understand why Madam Luo would ask such a question, but she still answered truthfully: "Sister Yunying said that she is easily intoxicated, so she doesn't drink alcohol at all."
