Xiao Yunying didn't know how long she had slept. She felt a little hungry, so she picked up the bundle next to her, untied it, and saw several sesame seed cakes and a roast chicken wrapped in oil paper.
She felt that the other party probably wouldn't dare to poison her, but she wasn't sure if they would use a colorless, odorless, delayed-acting poison.
She didn't know if such a poison existed, but the image of Luo Sheng's poisoned eyes suddenly flashed into her mind, and after thinking about it, she decided not to eat any of these things.
She drew back the curtains and handed the bundle out: "I don't want to eat these."
"Please bear with us, young lady. We need to get going. Once we arrive, we'll let you rest and have a proper meal."
“It’s not that I’m disgusted by the food, it’s that I’m worried about you.” Xiao Yunying pushed the food forward again: “Hurry up and take it, my arm is getting sore.”
The man had no choice but to accept the bundle, while still reassuring her, "Don't worry, young lady, there's no poison in it."
"That's what you said, I didn't know anything about it." Xiao Yunying rolled her eyes: "I'm going to buy food myself in the next town."
"No."
"Then let me starve to death. Then you can drag my corpse to see your master, and you won't have to worry about me escaping all the time."
The man took a deep breath and finally relented, saying, "I can take you to buy some food, but I hope you won't think about running away..."
"Who can outrun you? You're all like rabbits with wings, able to fly and jump."
Xiao Yunying was too lazy to listen to him finish, so she rolled her eyes at him and lowered the curtain.
Actually, she doesn't necessarily need to buy food; with a supermarket around, she won't starve. But she still has to pretend.
After a while, a voice came from outside again: "Girl, the thing you threw on my face earlier..."
Xiao Yunying said lazily, "It's just chili powder, a powder made from an edible vegetable, used as a seasoning. It's spicy and pungent, but not poisonous, otherwise I wouldn't dare to use my hands to pick it up directly."
As she spoke, she looked at her hands, which had already been wiped clean. Following the sleeves to her body, she realized that she had been dressed in a different dress.
She couldn't hold back any longer and raised her voice, "Change my clothes?"
She touched her wrist and realized that even the bracelet Luo Sheng had given her was gone.
"Don't worry, young lady. I found a woman to change it for you, so that you don't have anything you shouldn't be hiding on you."
Xiao Yunying pulled back the curtains: "Where's the bracelet on my wrist? Give it back to me."
"girl……"
"I said give me back the bracelet!"
Seeing that she seemed genuinely angry, the man remained silent for a moment, then took out something wrapped in a handkerchief from his pocket and handed it to her.
Xiao Yunying reached out and took the handkerchief. She opened it and saw that it was indeed her bracelet inside. She turned it around and examined it carefully to make sure it was not damaged before putting it back on her wrist. Then she threw the handkerchief directly out the window at the person.
Actually, she wanted to put the bracelet directly into the supermarket to avoid it getting damaged or lost. The problem was that they already knew she had the bracelet, and she wouldn't be able to explain if it suddenly disappeared.
Bored sitting there, she simply lay back down, closed her eyes, and began to think about what might happen next, wondering who wanted to see her.
Unable to reach the next town that night, the group didn't even rest, continuing their journey through the night, only taking two hours of rest late at night before continuing their journey before dawn.
During this time, Xiao Yunying went to the woods to relieve herself twice. She took the excuse that their hearing was too good and went a little further away. After taking care of her business and drinking water, she lay down in the carriage and occasionally put a piece of chocolate in her mouth and quietly sucked on it.
They didn't enter the next town until a day and a half later. During this time, she didn't eat or drink anything they offered her.
The group seemed genuinely afraid she would starve to death; the first thing they did upon entering the city was to take her to a restaurant to eat.
Xiao Yunying was indeed hungry. Afraid that people would hear her eating, she could only eat chocolate quietly. However, the chocolate could only maintain the minimum energy consumption of her body and was not filling. She felt that her belly had become thinner in the past two days.
After she had eaten and drunk her fill, she watched as the waiter packed up some easy-to-carry foods like roast chicken, braised pork, and sesame cakes, and fetched two jugs of water. When they passed by a pastry shop and a bookstore, she forced them to take her to buy some snacks and storybooks before getting into the carriage.
Xiao Yunying lay contentedly on the carriage reading a storybook, marveling at how tough these people were. They traveled non-stop every day, barely getting two hours of rest a day between eating and sleeping, yet they still managed to persevere.
But she was just expressing her feelings; after all, she wasn't the one suffering.
Besides, these people aren't good people, so she can't feel sorry for them at all.
After leaving the city and traveling for some distance, she felt the carriage suddenly start spinning in circles.
Xiao Yunying felt something was strange, so she lifted the curtain and looked outside. She saw at least five carriages that looked exactly the same as each other circling around.
After several carriages circled around each other a few times, they all headed off in different directions. The one leading the carriage rode up to her carriage and continued along the originally planned route.
Xiao Yunying looked at him and sneered, "Heh, what a brilliant idea, is that what you came up with?"
The man, seeing that she didn't answer the question, said something else: "This carriage is not only the same on the outside, but also the same inside. Even the girl inside, with her figure and appearance, is somewhat similar to Miss Xiao after being specially dressed up. So Miss Xiao, don't try to leave any clues or traces that can be tracked by comparison."
"Hehe." Xiao Yunying looked at him like he was an idiot, then said nothing more, lowered the curtain, and went back to her carriage to eat snacks and read a storybook.
