Chapter 22 You're Good

Mother Lu's words reminded Zhang Xiulan that she had two sons. She would give 50 cents first, and Jiang Wanwan would have to give two gifts later.

She was an educated youth from the city, so rich, how could she have the nerve to give the children 30 or 50 cents? She should have given them at least one dollar.

If each of my two sons gets one dollar, it will be two dollars in total.

After figuring it out, Zhang Xiulan happily took out 50 cents from her pocket and handed it to Jiang Wanwan, then hurried her youngest son back to the house, "Chunku, go call your brother and come over to recognize your aunt."

Chunshu also understood what he meant, turned around and ran back to the house, and quickly called out his father Lu Hui and elder brother.

Lu Hui was taking a nap in bed, waiting for the bell to ring before going to work. After listening to his youngest son's incoherent words, he roughly understood what he meant.

Sure enough, as soon as I walked out of the house, I saw my third brother with his new wife, Jiang Zhiqing. You know what, girls from the city are pretty, with fair skin and tender flesh. His wife looked like a short melon when standing next to them.

The youngest son said that his mother gave his third brother's wife 50 cents as a gift. Although he didn't know when his wife became so generous, he also put 50 cents in his pocket. After Lu Xiao gave Jiang Wanwan instructions, Lu Hui happily took out 50 cents and gave it to her.

Jiang Wanwan didn't expect to have an unexpected gain, and Zhang Xiulan's face turned green.

Zhang Xiu Lan was so angry that she wanted to vomit blood and she wanted to slap her youngest son twice.

I told him to call him brother, why did you call him dad too? But thinking about the two dollars he would get soon, he suppressed his anger and said, "Okay, big brother and sister-in-law have already recognized each other. Chunsheng and Chunshu, come here and recognize your third aunt."

Haruki couldn't wait any longer. He tilted his little face up and called out "Aunt San" in a crisp voice, then stretched out his black little hand.

Chunsheng was shy by nature. He secretly glanced at his uncle and saw that there was no extra expression on his face. He called out, "Third Aunt," but did not extend his hand like his younger brother did.

Mother Lu looked at Jiang Wanwan with some concern, afraid that she was not prepared and would lose face.

Lu Xiao also looked at her, but he was thinking that since she was very generous to her friends and that pretty boy at the educated youth site, would she also generously give one dollar to each of the two children?

Although they are a family, Lu Xiao knows his sister-in-law very well and doesn't want to give them so much money at all.

Under the gaze of everyone, Jiang Wanwan rummaged through her pocket and took out a few candies. She first put two into Chunshu's little hand and then handed two to Chunsheng.

"You're so good! This is a gift from your third aunt."

"Oh, it's candy, Mom. I have candy to eat, two pieces at that."

Chunshu saw Tang jumping high in the air, and after talking to Zhang Xiulan, he ran to Lu's mother to show off.

Mother Lu smiled and said, "Eat what your Third Aunt gave you. Go call out your Second Uncle and Second Aunt."

Since we are relatives, we should recognize each other.

Second sister-in-law Wang Sanni hid behind the door and eavesdropped as soon as Lu Xiao and his wife entered the yard.

I originally thought that the quiet-looking Jiang Zhiqing would be like me, and would be easily defeated by my sister-in-law in just a few moves. However, I didn't expect that she could make my sister-in-law fall into such a big setback with just a few words.

When she heard that Lu's mother wanted to look for the couple, she called Lu Jie, who was playing with her daughter on the kang, over, found a dollar, and gave each of them 50 cents.

Jiang Wanwan was impartial. She accepted the fifty-cent gift from Lu Jie and Wang Sanni and gave Lu Qingqing two candies.

However, these two pieces of candy were handed to Wang Sanni. Lu Qingqing was only two years old, and the whole piece of fruit candy could easily get stuck in her.

Wang Sanni's liking for Jiang Wanwan increased significantly because of her attentiveness.

The bell for work in the team rang, and the Lu family had to go to work, including Jiang Wanwan and the others. Lu's mother hurriedly found a bowl and poured out the meat.

Each family only has a few plates and bowls, and she knows the situation of her youngest son better.

The two children, Lu Chunsheng and Lu Chunshu, only then saw the meat and immediately clamored to eat it.

Jiang Wanwan also knew that it was impossible for Lu's mother to eat the meat alone, so she didn't care about it anymore. She took the bowl and walked back with Lu Xiao.

Lu Xiao remained silent throughout the journey. Jiang Wanwan tilted her head and looked at him several times, unsure of his attitude. In the end, she couldn't help but ask, "Am I too overbearing? Actually, I'm not usually like this..."

"No," Lu Xiao interrupted her explanation, "You're fine this way."

Don't take advantage of others, and you won't suffer any loss yourself.

He knew his sister-in-law very well. She was mean and sarcastic, loved to take advantage of others, and would never suffer any loss. Today, Jiang Wanwan was able to get the upper hand from her, which really opened his eyes.

Thinking about how his mother had asked him to be tolerant only for the other party to become more aggressive, Lu Xiao felt that sometimes there was nothing wrong with being a little domineering.

Jiang Wanwan didn't expect to get recognition from him. "I thought you would think I was too stingy with your family and too disrespectful to your sister-in-law."

After all, the original owner was not stingy with the people around him at the educated youth point, especially with Du Jiaming and Qiao Wenwan. Just look at the debts they owed the original owner.

When they arrived at the door, Lu Xiao opened it and took the bowl from her hand, "You are not stingy with your mother."

That’s half a bowl of meat in one go. Many people can’t eat so much meat in a whole year.

"And what my sister-in-law said just now clearly makes you feel like a sucker. Jiang Wanwan, remember, I won't allow you to feel wronged just because they are my family, and I will definitely not let you be a sucker."

The morning sun shone on his resolute and serious face, with sharp edges and clear and deep black eyes.

Jiang Wanwan also nodded seriously, "Okay, you are not allowed to wrong me, but I can be your scapegoat."

Lu Xiao: “…”
