Chapter 100: Heading to the battlefield

That night, Tang Ran found Lu Jinshu, not for any other reason but to send Lin Teng and Zuo Ming back to the military region.

"Can you send them back to the military area now?"

"Who do you want to send back?"

Lu Jinshu had long known that Lin Teng and Zuo Ming were tied up and controlled in Tang Ran's team. Based on his understanding of Tang Ran, Lu Jinshu roughly guessed that these two people must have crossed Tang Ran's bottom line and committed suicide.

At the end of her previous life, because of him, Tang Ran didn't have to worry about many things in the supernatural group.

He had told Tang Ran earlier that it was necessary to establish her authority. It was not about making the team members afraid of her, but about having prestige. However, Tang Ran thought that a team of people did not need that approach and just needed to get along with each other.

But Tang Ran's understanding of human nature is still not comprehensive enough.

"Are you asking anyway? Didn't you report those people you planted there? I don't plan to keep Lin Teng and Zuo Ming. Find a way to send them back. I don't want them anymore. Let Commander Fang take care of them."

Lu Jinshu didn't feel guilty when he was exposed. He just smiled and didn't take the opportunity to preach. He was not stupid.

"Okay, I'll find someone to take them back at dawn."

The two of them were walking and talking around the outskirts of the temporary camp. Lu Jinshu didn't take it seriously, but he had some thoughts in mind.

Earlier, some rumors about the two of them were spread through Lu Jinshu's showing off. Lu Jinshu was happy to see it happen and has been trying hard to confirm the rumors.

Tang Ran thought that the current situation between the two of them was nothing, but everyone in the camp felt that something was a little unsettling.

"Are you full from the barbecue? Would you like some more later?"

After hunting down two wild boars, Tang Ran and his sixty-odd people had nothing left, mainly because the boars were not very big. But Tang Ran had trophies. Basically, every group had some pheasants, rabbits, etc., which was a lot when put together. Together with the food they brought with them, it was enough for a good meal.

The plans for the past three days have been disrupted, and now everyone is busy cooking, which can barely be considered a midnight snack.

"Wild boar meat has a strange taste and isn't as tasty as domestic pork, but it's still good with some cumin and chili powder."

Tang Ran smiled and after saying this, she acted like a thief, spreading her wings everywhere, then pulled Lu Jinshu and hid behind a tree.

"Here, I secretly saved some for you. I put it in the space right after I baked it. Come and try it and see if it tastes good."

"Did you bake it?"

"Well, the first batch that's baked is left for you."

Lu Jinshu looked at the skewers of meat that Tang Ran handed to him. They were shiny black and obviously burnt by the overcooking.

Although he had no appetite, he felt so happy in his heart. When would his girl finally come to her senses?

…………

The assessment continued the next day. Lin Teng and Zuo Ming were sent back to the military region in advance under Lu Jinshu's arrangement. It can be said that none of the team members expected Tang Ran to be serious, especially Lin Teng and Zuo Ming, whose eyes widened in shock.

Zuo Ming even apologized to Tang Ran immediately, but Tang Ran had no intention of changing his mind. Some issues of principle cannot be resolved by an apology, and Tang Ran would not open that door.

"There are now sixteen people in the team. If anyone wants to leave early, please tell me now. I have one minute to think about it.

..., time is up, no one wants to leave, so everyone, cheer up and get ready, the next training will begin soon."

………………

Although it seemed that the departure of Lin Teng and Zuo Ming had little impact on Tang Ran, in fact, Tang Ran had lost much interest in continuing to have fun, and everything that followed was quite normal. What was rare was that, besides Lu Jinshu, Bai Lin also understood Tang Ran.

"When I first arrived at the South China Sea Military Region, I was also bullied. For someone like me and Lu Jinshu to be able to climb to the position of regimental commander at our age, we must have put in much more effort than others. In front of this, family background is not worth mentioning.

In fact, some things are better to experience early than late.

I joined the army early, and after making several contributions over the years, I was admitted to a special operations team in our area.

Of course, we also have to thank our captain at the time, Luo, who was the battalion commander."

As Bai Lin spoke, he seemed to be lost in some memories.

"He later died while trying to save one of our team members. It was because one of our team members didn't strictly follow orders that our captain took a bullet for him."

Even though Bai Lin tried his best to control himself, tears still appeared in the corners of his eyes.

"Tang Ran, why do some people just not understand human language? What kind of soldier is he if he doesn't obey orders?

This is a disaster, harming others and yourself, and should have been kicked out of the team long ago."

Tang Ran didn't expect Bai Lin to say such words to her, and she felt a little complicated.

What Bai Lin couldn't say was that he was the one who killed their captain. The scene of the captain's death was still vivid in his mind. Even though the captain said he didn't blame him, Bai Lin still couldn't forgive himself.

He only remembered the last words the captain said to him.

"You're great. If you hadn't gone up, I, the captain, would have gone up, and basically just left you there. Now that the mission is accomplished, I'm relieved. Don't overthink it, just keep working hard. I'm counting on you, and you'll live well with my share."

Bai Lin rubbed his face with his hands, stood up and waved at Tang Ran.

"You're still too young. No matter how many people you have under you, discipline is paramount. Without rules, there's no order. Our ancestors were right. Don't wait to regret it later, because then it will be too late."
