Chapter 3: I have the world in my hands

Zhang Xudong ran into the kitchen with great joy, wanting to cook a big meal for his freshly baked grandma and sister and show off his cooking skills.

But once I got to the kitchen, it was completely deserted. It was a clay stove, which wasn't a big deal—who hasn't burned firewood in the countryside? It was barely enough oil and salt to get by. But after searching the kitchen, all I could find was a bowl of black, murky stuff—something I had no idea what it was made of. It was truly baffling. I had no idea what this thing was, so how could I possibly use it?

Only then did I realize that I was living in 1960, the worst of the three-year famine. It was good enough to have something to eat at home.

The reason why so many neighbors and fellow villagers came here today is also because my father is a driver. He travels all over the country and can find a lot of rare things. He usually helps everyone a lot.

Everyone owes a favor, so they come to help. No one will come to watch unless they pay, unless they give them food. Standing there and watching the fun is too much to bear when you're hungry, so you might as well go home and lie down to save yourself the energy.

Why am I so miserable? Others who travel through time either have a system or a space, but I travel through time naked, with nothing. Traveling through time naked is fine, but can you at least find a good place? In this era where money can't buy food, no matter how good the medical skills are, they can't cure hunger, and no matter how high the martial arts skills are, I am afraid of being anxious because of hunger.

Zhang Xudong stood in the kitchen, staring at the sky in silence, wanting to cry.

"Who is this wicked, smoking thing that brought me to this shabby place? I don't want to play anymore. I want to go home, back to my lovely little yard."

"Hey, I'm back. The familiar taste is so good! Hahaha." Standing under the grape trellis in his own home, Zhang Xudong smiled like a big fool.

"Who burned my rocking chair? Which wicked guy with nothing to do did it?" Looking at the pile of charred broken wood strips, Zhang Xudong jumped up and cursed in anger.

"Who's breaking into the house? Is there a thief?" Just as I was thinking about looking for a thief, a panoramic view of my home appeared in my mind. Every place was clearly visible: the medicine in the medicine cabinet, the money in the drawer, the silver needles in the medicine box, the vegetables in the backyard, the water in the well, even the shelves in the small supermarket, every product was as clear as if it were right in front of me.

"Did I get double X-ray vision as compensation for being penetrated once? I'm going to the supermarket to buy a bottle of water and a piece of ice. The bump on the back of my head still hurts, so I'll apply some ice." My hands felt cold, with ice in the left hand and mineral water in the right.

Is this telekinesis? Has he become so powerful? Zhang Xudong was stunned when he saw the item in his hand. Try something else? Then he tried all sorts of things: things from the supermarket, the bedroom, the kitchen, even water from the well. Everything worked. If you can get it back and put it back, you just need to use your brain. When you put the items back from the supermarket, they appear in the storage area, not in their original place. Once sold, no returns or exchanges? Interesting.

"Brother, what are we having for dinner today? Let me light the fire." Zhang Xudong was lost in thought when he heard his sister's voice calling him. He instinctively turned around and saw his younger sister crossing the threshold of the living room, probably wanting to go to the kitchen. The girl was clean and fair, and she looked very pretty and adorable.

"This isn't about going back home, it's about bringing home here. This home should be your own space, your own welfare. The supermarket is using your own house, so it's attached to you."

Zhang Xudong, suddenly enlightened, didn't dare to dwell on it and hurried back to the kitchen. After a moment's thought, he pulled out five eggs, two pounds of flour, and half a pound of millet. He didn't dare take more than that, as he couldn't explain where they came from.

"How about eating dumpling soup with eggs?"

"Brother, do you really have eggs? We haven't eaten eggs for a long time." The little girl ran into the kitchen.

Seeing the eggs and grains on the chopping board, he screamed and quickly covered his mouth and asked in a low voice, "Brother, brother, are these all from our family? Can we have a full meal today? I haven't had a full meal for a long time since Daddy died. Brother, I miss Daddy so much."

The little girl's voice became softer and softer, tears streaming down her aggrieved face. Zhang Xudong's eyes also turned red, and he squatted down and hugged his sister.

"My dear little sister, don't cry. From now on, I promise that you and grandma will never go hungry again. I will make sure you eat well. Take good care of your body and grow into a tall, beautiful and beautiful lady.

Stop crying, please. Let your brother cook quickly so that our little beauty can have a full stomach as soon as possible."

After coaxing my sister into giving me some comfort, I cleaned the pot, boiled some water, and made some noodle soup. I cracked two eggs, beat them, and quickly made a pot of egg dumpling soup. I didn't bother getting any vegetables out, so while my sister wasn't looking, I grabbed a handful of sesame salt from the supermarket and threw it in. It was savory, delicious, and nutritious, perfect for warming the body, and I saved myself the trouble of having to eat anything else.

The rice was served in bowls and brought to the main room. After placing them on the table, he went into the inner room and helped grandma out to eat.

"Xiaodong, where do these eggs and flour come from?"

"Grandma, I went to the county town yesterday and met Dad's friend. He gave me five eggs, two kilograms of flour, and half a kilogram of millet. He said Dad had lent it to him before, and now he's returning it to our family."

"Alas, there are still many good people! We didn't even know about this. Your father is gone, so it's okay if they don't return it. They are better than that inhumane Li Guizhi."

"Grandma, we're not angry anymore. We've got most of the money back and we've severed ties with her. From now on, we'll just pretend she never existed. We'll just live our own lives. My sister and I will honor you in the future."

"Okay, eat. Yanyan, eat slowly. Be careful not to burn yourself." Grandma reminded the little girl when she saw her eating too fast. Zhang Xudong then remembered that his little sister's name was Zhang Xiyan.

"Grandma, please keep this money. I'll keep a hundred and see if I can buy some food tomorrow."

"Alas, where can I buy food? At the commune market, a pound of vegetables costs only 80 cents, and a pound of cornmeal is not even available at 10 yuan.
