Chapter 149 I Promise Not to Tell My Mom
Shang Lichun's face changed when he heard his words.
The words he said seemed like a soliloquy: "Could it be that thing is still in her hand?"
Shang Ruolan took advantage of Shang Lichun's dizziness and pressed on: "Dad, what is that?"
Even though Shang Lichun had drunk a bit too much, he still had his wits about him: "You're just a little girl, why are you asking about that?"
Shang Ruolian immediately put on an aggrieved expression, "Dad, I didn't mean anything else. I just thought that if grandma really had something good, she couldn't let that little bitch Shang Ruoting get away with it."
Shang Lichun pondered for a moment, then hooked his finger at Shang Ruolian: "I'll only tell you this once. You can't tell anyone, okay?"
Shang Ruolian nodded: "Dad, don't worry, I promise not to tell even my mom."
Shang Lichun seemed to have made up his mind and slowly said, "The old lady has..."
His voice was so soft that even Shang Ruolan, who was sitting next to him, could barely hear it, not to mention Zhang Lanxiang, who was eavesdropping through the crack in the door.
Listening to Shang Lichun talking about the treasures that Old Lady Shang might have, Shang Ruolan narrowed her eyes, clenched her fists, and made a gesture as if she was determined to get them.
"Dad, I will definitely find a way to get this thing. Then, our family will definitely make a fortune."
Shang Lichun waved his hand: "I don't care about the rest, but you have to remember to keep your mouth shut."
Shang Ruolian assured: "Don't worry, Dad. If I tell anyone about this, I'll be a fool, right?"
The next morning, Shang Ruoting went to the production team's tofu shop to check it out and walked towards the chicken coop. She saw a familiar figure in front of her.
The chicken coop and her new house are both in the west of the village. They are located relatively close to the edge and most people would not go there unless necessary.
Shang Ruoting quickened her pace, wanting to see who that person was. After chasing for about a meter, she saw clearly that it was Shang Ruolian.
She couldn't help but wonder: What is this person doing here?
So she followed behind at a distance.
I saw Shang Ruolian heading straight towards the chicken coop.
Shang Ruoting became more and more confused and followed him into the chicken coop.
As soon as Shang Ruolian arrived there, she called out, "Grandma, are you there? I came to see you."
When Shang Ruoting heard her words, her first feeling was that this person was going to cause trouble again, otherwise, why would she suddenly come to see Old Lady Shang?
Old Mrs. Shang heard someone calling for her milk, but since it wasn't Shang Ruoting's voice, she ignored it and continued cleaning.
But Yang Tao stood up and looked around. She and Grandma Shang were the only two people in the chicken coop.
"Grandma Shang, the people outside should be calling you, right?"
Old Madam Shang shook her head: "That's not your sister Ruoting's voice, it's impossible for her to be calling me."
As the two were talking, Shang Ruolian opened the door and walked in.
"Grandma, are you really here?"
"I came to see you." As she said that, she took out two boiled eggs from her jacket pocket and stuffed them into Mrs. Shang's hands.
Old Mrs. Shang subconsciously dodged backwards, and Shang Ruolan lost her grip on the eggs, causing them to fall to the ground. Moreover, they fell onto a pile of chicken manure that Old Mrs. Shang had just collected.
A hint of displeasure flashed across Shang Ruolian's face for a moment, but she quickly subsided.
"It's okay, milk. If the eggs are dirty, just throw them away. I'll bring them to you another day."
Old Mrs. Shang looked at her as if she had never known this person. Although Shang Ruolan had not said anything when Zhang Lanxiang and Shang Lichun spoke rudely to her before, she did not have a good impression of her.
"I'm not your milk, so you don't have to send me any eggs anymore. I can't bear it as an old woman."
Shang Ruolian was unmoved by her attitude and still maintained what she thought was the most perfect smile. She reached out and took the broom and shovel from Old Lady Shang.
"Grandma, I don't mean anything else. I just feel that my dad's attitude towards you was wrong before. Since I'm his daughter, I want to make up for it for him."
After saying that, she skillfully started doing what Old Lady Shang had not yet finished.
Old Mrs. Shang was also very experienced and didn't take her words to heart at all. She stepped forward to take back the broom.
"Go away!"
"This is not the place for you. I don't need your help."
Shang Ruolian looked at Old Lady Shang pitifully: "Grandma, I came to see you sincerely, don't misunderstand me."
Yang Tao watched the interaction between the two from the side, and felt that Shang Ruolan was just a weasel paying a New Year's visit to a chicken, and she definitely had no good intentions.
"Hey, Grandma Shang doesn't want to see you, so hurry up and leave! Is it fun to stay here?"
Although Shang Ruolian couldn't lose her temper with Old Madam Shang, she had no scruples when it came to Yang Tao.
"Yang Tao, this is our Shang family's business, you as an outsider should stay out of it."
"You..." Yang Tao pointed at her and wanted to say something when she heard Shang Ruoting's voice coming from the door of the chicken coop.
"Yang Tao is an outsider and doesn't need to get involved. It's okay if I take care of it, right?"
When Shang Ruolian saw Shang Ruoting's increasingly fair and charming face, jealousy surged in her heart. However, in order to leave a good impression on Old Madam Shang, she tried hard to suppress her anger.
