Chapter 121: Breaking the Shell
When the residents began to think about the thing called "art", Levi had already returned to the castle early and packed up various things that might be needed.
Sword, pickaxe, and axe, some food and materials, some treasure, potions, golden apples...
And the final resort is TNT.
If Saruman turned evil early, Levi wouldn't mind being a naughty kid for once.
Everything was ready. Li Wei had a good sleep that day and woke up refreshed.
Then something happened that cheered him up even more.
There is movement in the lava pool used to hatch dragon eggs.
Early in the morning, when Levi went to inspect the closed magma pool as usual, there was a sudden click and a small crack appeared on the eggshell.
Levi was so shocked that he immediately went over to check.
The light from the magma shines through the eggshell, dimly illuminating the active and stirring creatures inside.
Looking at the struggling shadow inside, Levi had the urge to help it, but it stands to reason that it is better for oviparous animals to be able to break out of the shell by themselves. Being able to break the shell means that its physique is up to standard, which is more beneficial for its future survival in the outside world.
So it still has to do this on its own.
This shell took a whole day to break, so Levi just stayed next to it for a day.
Until the sound of eggshells falling off was heard.
A faint hissing sound came from the eggshell, and a tiny creature with a crystal clear body and two small wings crawled out of the shell, spread its wing membrane, and opened its eyes with difficulty.
When it began to use its eyes to receive information from the outside world for the first time in its life, a dark figure stood in front of it, dispelling the warmth around it and uttering a syllable it could not understand:
"Do you want to eat fish?"
【Baby Fire Dragon 10/10】
The newborn baby was very fragile. It staggered towards Levi's feet, and after a moment, it put its entire body on Levi's boots, as if it had to do this to feel at ease.
After adjusting its position, the little guy began to look up and around, his pair of sparkling little eyes observing the world curiously.
The secret room surrounded by dazzling red magma and pitch-black obsidian is the environment in which it was born, and it is all it can see now.
Levi looked down at the little guy, recalling some information in his mind.
In Middle-earth, "dragons" are a kind of unprecedented evil creatures created and bred by Morgoth for war. Influenced by dark forces, they are greedy and cunning by nature, and they learn deception without any teacher. They are full of malice towards the world since birth, and have a great possessiveness for gold and various treasures.
Because of this, it can be said that their existence is a manifestation of "evil" and is not tolerated by order and kindness.
But this one...
Levi picked up the fire dragon lying on his boots and held it in the palm of his hand.
Charmander raised his head curiously and looked at the big face in front of him.
There was no malice in those little eyes, only novelty and a just the right amount of confusion.
Unlike Smaug's ferocious and sharp appearance, this little dragon looks crystal clear, with very soft colors on its body, without any of the evil and cruelty that a dragon should have.
If it was really a dragon created by Morgoth, then when it saw Levi, it would not lie down at his feet docilely, but would pounce on him and try to bite and eat him.
Perhaps this is a dragon that has been purified by some power.
Levi took out a grilled fish and put it next to its mouth. The little guy sniffed it instinctively, then looked up at Levi, a little confused.
Levi opened his mouth.
It also learned to open its mouth.
Levi took out another grilled fish, ate it, and swallowed it.
Now it understood, and immediately moved forward and bit the grilled fish in front of it bit by bit.
When the fish meat fell into its stomach, that great desire of life was satisfied, and the little fire dragon experienced for the first time the pleasure of swallowing and being full, which was so intoxicating to the dragon.
Looking at the little dragon eating with relish, out of curiosity, Levi took out a gold ingot and placed it next to it.
However, this guy didn't even look at it, just focusing on the fish in front of him.
It was not until it had finished eating the whole fish and its small belly had obviously swelled a lot that it burped and took the time to take a look at the gold ingot.
However, after just leaning over and sniffing it, it lost interest and continued to look up at Levi.
Just staring at each other.
broken.
Levi's heart skipped a beat.
This is learning from yourself.
It's okay to start raising dragons before you start raising children.
Levi pulled out another gold ingot and chewed on it, and Charmander did the same.
After a moment, a genuine expression of pain appeared on the little dragon's head.
From then on, gold was hated by it.
This dragon does whatever it is told to do, without any ambiguity.
Putting away the gold, Levi took out two more cabbages, picked up one of them and began to crunch it.
The little guy moved closer to another cabbage, sniffed it, hesitated for a moment, and then started to nibble on it.
After a while, the cabbage was completely eaten.
It’s confirmed. It really learns everything from me, and the good thing is that it is not picky about food.
At the incubator, Levi started some basic action education.
The moon set and the sun rose, and when it was noon the next day, he walked out of the hatchery surrounded by obsidian, holding the fire dragon in one hand.
The fire dragon saw the sun, grass, and other people for the first time, which surprised it so much that it couldn't help spreading its wings and chirping twice.
These two childish cries immediately attracted the attention of several people around.
Whenever in the roadside fort, the first thing people see is always the lord himself, and then other things around him.
So much so that the first reaction of people around is to say hello.
"Good day, my lord."
After this sentence was spoken, the man suddenly noticed the creature in Levi's hand.
"Dragon...evil dragon!"
The residents' loud shouting obviously scared the little guy. Its neck, which was stretched out curiously to look forward, suddenly shrank back and its body curled up.
However, the residents reacted more violently than the little guy. They all jumped back almost as soon as they saw the young fire dragon. If it wasn't the dragon in the hands of their lord, some of them would have picked up their weapons and become alert.
"Don't panic."
Li Wei gently touched the dragon's head and said to the residents, "This is a relatively kind dragon I raise. Unlike the evil dragons in the north, it has a pure nature and does not have those bad habits."
"It has no interest in treasure and will not eat people. In fact, it prefers grilled fish and cabbage."
As he spoke, Levi picked a leaf from the field next to him and handed it to the little guy in his hand.
The little guy was also very considerate and started chewing it with a crunching sound.
Vegetarian dragons? The residents opened their mouths wide, looking at each other in bewilderment.
The dragons described in poems and legends are all evil and powerful. They eat people without leaving any bones. They can burn down a city with a spit of their breath, and they can create a hurricane that can overturn a carriage with a flap of their wings.
For thousands of years, evil dragons have appeared in this image, even though most people have never seen one.
Now that I have seen it with my own eyes, it is really an eye-opener.
After all, who would have thought that there are dragons in the world that love to eat cabbage.
