Chapter 2: Synthetic Table Cooking
Baggins?
Bilbo Baggins?
Levi was confused.
How could this be such a coincidence?
The case was solved, so they said the wooden box looked familiar.
Isn’t that his mother’s dowry box?
hiss--
Levi looked at Bilbo.
The poor hobbit had no idea what was about to happen to his family.
He also didn't know whether his mother's dowry chest would be used by some dwarf to rub his feet in the future.
At this moment, Levi suddenly felt a little evil.
He stood at the door again, saluted and said, "Levi, at your service."
This sentence means that he is here to visit formally.
Bilbo seemed to be surprised that Levi would suddenly do this. He was stunned for a moment, then he subconsciously straightened his clothes and replied: "Bilbo Baggins, at your service."
After completing this action, Levi bent down and stepped into the cozy cave house again.
I have to say, maybe all Hobbits have a bit of a rat-like nature. Levi saw at a glance a large amount of food and drinks stored deep in the house.
This is enough storage capacity for 13 dwarves to hold a banquet, which is quite a lot.
"Levi, you can find a place to sit first. Afternoon tea is at four o'clock. Although it hasn't arrived yet, I don't mind eating early. By the way, what do you like to eat? How about fried sausages with some bread?"
The hobbits' hospitality wasn't for nothing.
Even though the arrival of Levi as a guest was somewhat unexpected, when Bilbo arrived at the house, he still showed the same enthusiasm as an acquaintance.
"Of course, it's all fine. The guest should follow the host's wishes and just listen to you." Levi nodded.
"The guest follows the host's wishes? All right."
Bilbo scratched his head and took out a string of sausages and a plate of bread piled up like a mountain from the warehouse.
Then, under Levi's gaze, he cut the sausages and placed them next to a frying pan.
While the fire was being lit and the pot was being heated, Bilbo stepped away for a moment to get some other things.
Levi couldn't help but be curious, so he stood up and moved closer to observe the small stove.
A very ordinary stove frying pan, except that the countertop is a bit low, which is the right height for a hobbit to use.
“Are you interested in cooking?”
Bilbo's voice suddenly came from behind, and Levi wisely moved aside to let Bilbo stand in front of the hot pot and start working.
"This pot is very old. My family has been using it all the time. It is a good pot."
Sizzle——
The sausages were put into the pan and a few drops of oil splashed out.
There was a brief silence for a few seconds. Seeing that Levi didn't say anything, perhaps because he felt the atmosphere was a little awkward, Bilbo looked at the sausages frying in the pan, put his hands on his hips and said:
"I am quite confident in my cooking skills, whether it is frying, baking or boiling... I learned all this from my mother."
So saying, Bilbo turned the sausage over again.
The other side is already browned and exudes an enticing meaty aroma.
Gurgle…
Levi's stomach growled.
Gulp.
Levi swallowed.
Finally, after a while, Bilbo put the fried sausage on a plate and sprinkled some pepper on it.
Just when Levi couldn't help but stand up and ask himself if he could eat one first, suddenly, a prompt appeared in front of him.
[Unlocked function: Synthesis table]
[Learned [Recipe] Branch Recipe: Fried Sausage]
[You can always check what you can make, and the crafting table will be dynamically updated based on the items you touch.] Hmm? Crafting table!?
Click.
A plate of sausages was placed in front of Levi, interrupting his thoughts.
"I guess you've been hungry for a long time."
Bilbo was still so considerate.
"Thanks."
Levi said this, tears of emotion flowing out from the corners of his mouth uncontrollably.
Then, the plate was cleared in a few bites.
It was so short that Bilbo didn't even have time to get back to the stove.
The hunger bar has returned by two bars (out of ten bars in total).
"Bilbo." Levi suddenly called out, "Can you let me try? I mean cooking."
Bilbo was stunned for a moment, obviously not expecting Levi to make such a request.
"Oh, sure. Um... sure. Go ahead."
Bilbo stepped back to make room.
Levi immediately bent down and stood beside the pot. Just when he was holding the handle of the pot and feeling a little confused, a teaching prompt box appeared.
[Cooking steps: select recipe - prepare ingredients - lock tools - start cooking]
Normal cooking is definitely a technical job. There are always many steps, and the chef needs to accurately control variables such as heat and saltiness. But for Levi, who has a system, this is just a complicated version of a melting pot, and everything just needs to be done according to the steps.
Sizzle——
Add sausage to the pot.
Levi stood quietly in front of the frying pan, as if nailed to the spot, his body not even shaking with the slightest breath.
He looked as if in a daze.
Seeing that the sausage was about to turn brown, Bilbo, who had been watching the situation, was about to open his mouth to remind him, but he saw Levi's arm shook, the pot tilted, and the sausage inside turned over accurately.
What an expert! Bilbo could not help but admire it in his heart.
Is this man a professional chef?
Not sure, let's see.
Crash——
After a while, it was turned over again, and a golden, shiny, and steaming sausage rolled into the plate. However, this was not the end. At the end, Levi ground a little bit of fine salt powder and sprinkled it evenly on it.
The fine salt melts on the sausage due to the heat.
Two flavors combined into one.
For some reason, just looking at the sausage, Bilbo couldn't help swallowing.
【Cooking is finished】
"Sorry for the wait."
Levi brought the plate to Bilbo.
Bilbo tried to cut the sausage, and saw a puff of white steam coming out of it, with the center having just the right degree of maturity.
Take a sip.
Swoosh——
The aroma of meat, seasonings and a little bit of melted salt exploded in his mouth. Even though the sausages just out of the pot were very hot and scalded Bilbo's tears, this stubborn Hobbit just couldn't bear to open his mouth to release the aroma and heat.
The maturity and taste are so perfect that it seems impossible for a human to make them. The little bit of extra salt just blends the slightly light taste of the sausage. A little change greatly enriches the taste.
Perfect!
All of a sudden, the hobbit's eyes widened, he stood up on the spot, and pushed his chair back several steps.
Bilbo, stand at attention.
"Mr. Levi, I swear, this is the most delicious fried sausage I have ever eaten in my life!"
"Thank you." Levi nodded, not quite understanding why Bilbo reacted so strongly.
According to his habitual thinking, isn't the food produced by this system similar to pre-prepared meals?
But in fact, technology has never been a bad word...
"No, Mr. Levi, this is not an over-praise. Seriously, I have eaten this kind of sausage for many years, but today seems to be the first time I have eaten it. It turns out that it can be so delicious!"
"oh?"
Levi raised his eyebrows, finding something unusual.
Really? Let me try.
Zira——
A few more sausages came out of the pot and were placed on the plate.
Levi took a bite.
Levi took another bite.
Levi put down his knife and fork calmly, smiled and nodded at Bilbo.
However, the corners of his mouth couldn't stop twitching.
I'm so, so delicious!!
Is this something I can make?! (End of this chapter)
