Chapter 208 Turgon

Chapter 208 Turgon

Hiss——Ha——

Sitting on a bench in the garden, Levi took a deep breath, looked up at the open sky, and felt extremely refreshed.

The royal family of Gondor really knows how to enjoy themselves.

Roses, peonies, tulips, lavender...all kinds of flowers are planted in clusters in flower beds or along the paths.

At this moment, Levi finally understood the value of the word "a riot of colour". In the past, he always felt that the combination of dark colours such as red and purple was a bit earthy, like some kind of large flowered jacket.

But now, seeing with his own eyes the red and purple flowers spreading out one after another, he finally understood: The ancients were not deceiving me.

These brightly colored flowers of different sizes connected together in a large patch are truly pleasing to the eye.

The image of the big flowered jacket also becomes elegant at this moment. It is not rustic, it is art.

Levi looked around and made sure that there was no one around. He quickly took out his bone powder and copied every flower that could be copied and carried it with him.

Gondor can grow it, and so can Roadside Castle! After a moment, Levi walked out of the garden with satisfaction. The garden behind him did not change at all, as if no one had ever been there.

Just when he was about to go somewhere else for a stroll, suddenly a team of guards with swan feathers on both sides of their helmets marched in neat steps, lined up in front of Levi, and blocked his way.

Boom…

Levi turned around and saw another team of guards coming over, blocking the road behind them.

My heart skipped a beat.

This is what happened? "I confess."

He immediately said, "I secretly took two flowers from the garden, but I promise I didn't touch the original flowers. The ones I took away were new flowers that I used bone meal to grow."

"If this is not allowed, I can return the flowers to you, but you don't have to give me the bone meal."

After listening to Levi's words, the guards were silent for a while, somewhat confused.

"If you like the flowers in the garden, we can ask the gardener to prepare some seeds for you later. It's also okay if you want to take the gardener away directly."

The captain of the guard stepped out from the crowd and said:

"But that's not why we're here."

"The Prime Minister invites you."

"Why does he command our soldiers?"

Inside the palace, on the high throne - the prime minister's seat next to it, Turgon frowned, looking quite unhappy.

Although the result was good, in principle it was an infringement on the royal sovereignty.

It would be fine if he was just a ranger or wizard without any attributes, but he was a lord from the north, and the kind of lord whose legend spread everywhere and whose actual influence was greater than that of the king.

"I want to see if those rumors are true."

Turgon sat quietly in the prime minister's seat, leaned back, closed his eyes and rested.

At the palace gate.

A group of people slowly climbed up the stairs and came to the top floor of Gondor.

At the fountain square in front of the palace, Levi suddenly stopped and looked up at the white tree in the center of the square.

The guards surrounding him also stopped as he moved.

The captain of the guard was nervous and stared at Levi, unable to guess what this legendary figure was trying to do.

No one dared to urge him.

“What a pity.”

"What?" The captain of the guard was brought back to his senses by this casual chat.

“That tree is dead.”

Levi shook his head.

What stands in the fountain square now is just a dead tree with no life in it, completely dead.

If he's not dead yet, maybe we can save him with some tricks.

"It's okay, let's go."

After walking for a distance, the guards stopped outside the door. The captain of the guard and Levi walked into the palace together to meet the prime minister under the vacant throne.

Turgon.

Levi looked at the old man sitting in the passenger seat, and this name came to his mind.

Of course, he is not Turgon, the High King of Gondolin in the First Age. The two just have the same name, or to put it bluntly, his name is taken from the Hidden King.

It's a bit of a hype.

In fact, even his son was named the same as a hero from the First Age.

"Exelion, greetings."

Next to the prime minister, a middle-aged man with thick black hair bowed slightly to Levi.

Ecthelion... that was the name of the Lord of the Fountain of Gondolin in the First Age, the legendary Elf who slew three Balrogs and several Orc chieftains and struck fear into their hearts. It was also one of the battle cries that Elrond taught Aragorn to intimidate his enemies.

The names of this family are all inspired by heroes from ancient times.

Levi nodded at him in response.

Unlike his father, Ecthelion looked quite energetic, standing with his back as straight as a beam, although he was actually over sixty years old.

Hearing that his son actually greeted a mere lord first, Turgon could not help but open his eyes and glance at him.

This bear, can't he have some awareness of being the successor of Gondor? Turgon raised his hand and asked his unruly son to step back, then stared at the newcomer with his eagle-like sharp eyes, his face serious and indifferent.

"Lord, you have come from afar. Do you know who you are facing?"

Obviously, the old prime minister intended to give this legendary figure from another country a warning.

"Of course I know, [Prime Minister] of Gondor."

Levi replied rather helplessly.

This old man, can't he just talk things out properly?

There was some silence for a moment.

Ecthelion, standing by, was so anxious that his eyelids were twitching. He wanted to step forward and say a few words, but Turgon had already told him to step back and not to act on his own unless there was something else.

He knew very well that even as a father, the man in the seat had limited patience and would not allow himself to overstep his authority a second time.

"If you know this, then why are you still standing here so brazenly?"

Turgon said calmly: "I think I should teach you the most basic etiquette - as a lord, you should greet the person in front of you."

Levi sighed softly.

"It's neither morning, nor noon, nor evening. How do you want me to say hello?"

"Have you eaten yet?"

Didn't eat, but was full.

Turgon slapped his chair and shouted: "Do you know that you are challenging the Supreme Ruler of Gondor?"

"Do you know you are provoking me?"

Levi took a step forward and the captain of the guard immediately became alert. He quickly made a ready gesture, ready to call in the guards at any time.

At this time, Ecselion could no longer stand. He quickly came over and stood between the two of them. He lowered his voice and said to Levi:

"My father is old and has a bad temper. Please forgive me. He was not like this when he was young..."

"What are you mumbling about?"

Turgon asked, glaring at Ecthelion.

"Father, I want to say that we should not greet a legend and hero who helped Gondor with such an attitude."

"My son, rumors have clouded your eyes and ears. You don't understand what I really care about."

"If he wants to do something in front of the High Throne of Gondor, then let him do it. Can't our guards and tens of thousands of soldiers in the city stop him?"

"Father…"

Eccelian glanced at Levi nervously and took two steps toward his seat.

“Maybe it’s impossible to stop it.”

About the Prime Minister of Gondor: Ever since the king of Gondor disappeared and the royal bloodline was cut off, Gondor has been governed by the Prime Minister.

Due to the particularity of the country, only those with true royal blood can become king, and the rest are not recognized. This is why the prime minister can only be the prime minister. No matter how many years or generations they have governed Gondor, they can only be the prime minister.

"Hold this staff in the king's name and rule the kingdom until the king returns."

——The Oath of the Steward of Gondor When Boromir, the eldest son of the 26th Steward Denethor II, was young, he asked his father:

"When will the prime minister become the king?"

Denethor answered:

"In other places where kingship is not so important, perhaps just a few years would be enough; but in Gondor, even ten thousand years would not be enough."
