Chapter 212 Enclosure

Chapter 212: Enclosure

"That's it."

Levi drew a circle on the map.

Since what they were going to discuss next was not suitable to be discussed in a tavern, the three of them moved to a study after finishing their meal.

On the table, Ecthelion leaned over and looked at the area circled by Levi with a frown.

It was an open space north of Osgiliath, east of the Anduin, between Mordor and Gondor.

Kane also glanced over here.

"Huh?"

"This is near Hannes Annuen."

"That is an outpost of our commando team."

Seeing Levi's puzzled look, Kane pointed to a place next to the river on the map and explained: "There is a waterfall here, flowing from the top of the cliff into the forbidden pool. Our base is here."

"—in the cave behind the waterfall."

"Oh, Water Curtain Cave."

A new word popped out of Levi's mouth.

"Water Curtain Cave... a cave covered by a water curtain. It's a very appropriate name. You can call it that if you want. However, since it faces the west, the afterglow of the setting sun can always penetrate the water curtain and refract into the cave. We usually call it the Sunset Window, or the Western Window."

Kane said: "Originally there was no waterfall covering the top of this cave. It was our craftsmen who modified the river channel to make it look like this."

"Who would have thought there would be a stronghold behind the waterfall?"

"Yeah, it's hard to imagine."

After Kane's explanation, Levi also remembered this place.

Isn't this where Frodo, Sam and Gollum were caught by the raiding party when they were passing through Ithilien?

Of course, this hasn't happened yet, and if nothing else interferes, it will happen decades later.

"Don't worry, my pickaxe is very accurate and won't hit your stronghold."

Levi pointed at the circle he drew and said, "And this distance is not that far. Look at the place I chose. On the left is Osgiliath, and on the right is the crossroads leading to Mordor. After the crossroads is Minas Morgul. It won't interfere with anyone."

To be honest, this place is really nice. If you have something to do, turn left and you will reach the White City of Gondor. If you are bored, you can turn right and go to Minas Morgul to visit the Witch King.

"Hmm... It would be great if we could open up a new hidden base at this location."

Kane nodded in approval.

But he obviously overlooked something.

Ecthelion turned his head and looked at the two people who were discussing seriously.

“Is your focus a little off?”

"What's wrong? Can't I use this place?" Levi also looked at him.

"It's okay, but...are you sure you want to choose this place?"

"I must remind you that there are large numbers of Orcs and Uruks passing through here every day. Wargs can be seen everywhere, more numerous than hares. The defenders and commandos of Osgiliath are constantly entangled with them, and killings occur almost every night."

"You said you wanted to build a 'home' here?"

Are you awake? "It's difficult for our craftsmen to get here. There are too many enemies around. If we must build something here, I'm afraid that in addition to the craftsmen, we will need an army of thousands of people to be vigilant and maintain it at all times."

"No, I can do it myself."

Li Wei waved his hand and said, "Just tell me whether you will give me this place or not."

"Give it or not..."

Ecthelion muttered to himself, and answered: "Strictly speaking, since the fall of Minas Morgul and Ithilien, that place has long been out of Gondor's rule, and is now just a wild place full of disputes."

"If you want to do something there, just go ahead and do it."

"real?"

"real."

"Don't you need to report this to your father?"

"I'll talk to my father. He has no reason to refuse."

"Go ahead and tell me now. I'm in a hurry."

"…good."

Ecselion was away for a short time, maybe just two cups of tea and a few words, then he opened the door of the study and walked in again.

"My father agreed. He said you can do whatever you want in that area as long as you can do it."

It is none of our business anyway—another remark of Turgon's that Ecthelion concealed.

"That's good."

After discussing the last important matter and saying goodbye to the two people, Levi did not stay long and left White City and ran eastward on the spot.

In this way, they passed through the plains outside the city, crossed the abandoned city of Osgiliath in Gondor, said hello to the garrison inside, crossed the bridge, stepped onto the crossroads and headed for the complex green area.

This piece of land is rugged and uneven, so if you want to build anything on it, you will definitely have to make large-scale modifications first.

But...

Who says buildings have to be built on the ground? "Ahaha, fresh human flesh!"

Just as I was thinking about it, a group of Uruks wearing black armor jumped out from the roadside. Without giving me time to react, they raised their butcher knives and started chopping without saying a word.

"Foolish human, even the stinking rangers of Gondor know to avoid us, and you dare to expose yourself in the moonlight - huh?"

Levi turned his head and drew his sword calmly.

This simple action caused the Uruks' hearts to stop.

However, Uruk, who rushed over first, was unable to stop and could only watch as his damn butcher knife, which he had already swung out, dragged him forward.

Swoosh——

A flash of sword light flashed across, cleanly and neatly, and Uruk's head fell to the ground in front of him. His body was stiff for a moment before he fell down with a thud.

"ah!!"

Uruk behind him let out a loud shout, but it was not the usual war cry. It was just a meaningless shout. After shouting once, he closed his mouth and immediately turned around and ran away.

Roar! At this time, another sound came from behind. The pack of wolves that fought with Uruk arrived late. They used their black fur to blend into the darkness. Only a pair of scarlet eyes indicated that there was something there.

After arriving at the scene, the first thing the wargs did was not to search for the enemy, but to stare at the group of Uruks, twitching their noses, as if observing whether these guys were eating alone and whether they had left some meat for themselves.

Just as the wargs were about to growl to remind Uruk to leave some prey for themselves, the next moment, the Uruks crossed the pack and retreated hastily.

Suddenly, the Uruk running at the back stopped beside the leader of the pack of wargs and pointed to the pitch-black field behind them and said, "We are full. There is some meat over there. Go ahead."

Then he hurriedly caught up with the main group without looking back, as if he was urged by something.

The wolf leader had no doubts - they were like this in the past when their masters drove them to do something, they would suddenly seem to feel no fatigue and run towards somewhere until they could not run anymore.

Looks like I'm really lucky today.
